The aunties are back! Book one was one of my favorite books of 2021, so I was so excited for a sequel! I enjoyed this second outing a lot- quick pace and laugh out loud funny.

This sequel to Dial "A" for Aunties is even better! The aunts are delightful, the humor is gentle and loving, and the situations, although absolutely ridiculous, nevertheless manage to work. Really enjoyed this one and look forward to recommending it to cozy mystery lovers who want something fun and different.

Four Aunties and a Wedding was the perfect follow up to Dial A, Jesse’s writing is so freakin hilarious. Her voice is electric and the aunties had me cackling page after page (particularly the plane scene with the British accents 🤣). I loved seeing the relationship between Meddy and Nathan. Most of all, it’s a beautiful story about family. 💖 Full review to come!

Meddy Chan is back and delightful as ever! A recommended first purchase for all public fiction collections.

Another funny romp down the aisle for Jesse Sutano. The follow up to "Dial A fur Aunties" continues the over-the-top family of Meddie Chen. and her perfect match, Nathan, heading to Oxford for a beautiful English wedding.
Once again, we're treated to insanity from the Aunties, questionable decisions about communication from Meddie, and a perfectly supportive and understanding hero.
This is a quick, fun read. Patrons/readers should definitely read the first book before this one.
It's a fun follow up, but not a stand alone.
Thanks for the ARC!

I absolutely loved Dial A for Aunties. So many times while reading, I had to pause and laugh out loud while thinking about my own family. Four Aunties and a Wedding was a wonderful sequel. I would recommend Dial A for Aunties before reading this book to understand all the jokes and history. I cannot wait to read another book starring the aunties!

The Four Aunties are at it again- and this time they’re squaring up against the mafia.

I really enjoyed this sequel and had lots of laughs. The aunties were just as funny, they were definitely the bigger standouts. I didn’t love Meddelin this time around and got frustrated a few times with the wedding plot, particularly with Nathan! Overall I really enjoyed it though.

Another hilarious adventure from Meddy and her crazy aunts. I thought the actual plot was a little weak this time and some of the story was too contrived but I still laughed. I preferred the first story but will definitely read another auntie saga.

I really enjoyed Sutanto’s debut -- I thought it was funny and thoughtful and just a really fun romp. But some of the emotional aspects really threw me off, namely that Meddy doesn’t seem at all affected by the fact that she killed someone. I’d have to say that I had the same feelings about this book: I really liked the premise but portions of it were too stressful for me to totally give into the rompiness of it.

The aunties are back in full force, absolutely hilarious and also a little tear-provoking. The airplane scene was truly laugh-out-loud funny to me. But the fact that the meat of this book takes place on Meddy’s wedding day was so stressful to me! Obviously I knew that it would all end up okay, but if I had to deal with all that she did on my wedding day, I’d simply be a puddle. I think my stress levels prevented me from enjoying the book as much as I expected to from the first 25%.

I’m rounding this up from 3.5 to 4 stars because I really do think that it’s a “not you but me” situation. If this series continues, I’ll definitely be picking up the next installment.

I was happy to see that I had been approved for this one on Netgalley. After reading about Meddy and her family in the first book I was curious to see what would be in store for them in the sequel. I will say that these books can be over-the-top and if that’s something you don’t like seeing then it may not be for you. It’s definitely a series that is in a whole category of its own when it comes to mixing rom-com with mystery.

The beginning of the book starts off with a note from the author. This sets up the story nicely as she shows us how she found her inspiration for what is to come in the book. It also gives us incite into what is was like to grow up for her and how her husband grew up even though their families came from the same place but moved away. It can be referred to as English diaspora which I can’t recall learning about before but glad I know about it now.

Meddy and her aunties are still funny as ever as they take on the task of a wedding. It is a big task but the aunties are ready to get the job done and find everything Meddy needs. This does cause some issues as she doesn’t want to shoot them down since they are trying to be helpful. I liked seeing how Meddy dealt with it all and still remained fairly calm, haha.

Since this book was to deal with another mystery, I was curious how it would play out especially with a wedding going on. I will say that it was better than what I had expected even if it had over-the-top drama. I think it helped me going in knowing that it would be the case after reading book one. This is why these books stand out so well. They are fun and a unique twist to the genre. I didn’t expect the plot twists that were to come which made it even better.

There is a great conversation to be had when it comes to people and how they are perceived by others as well as how upbringings can be different for everyone. Meddy’s aunties are a wild bunch but it is what makes them special. I’ve always liked that they stayed true to themselves. It gets hard for Meddy when they have to meet Nathan’s parents and they just don’t understand them or their mannerisms. I would definitely have no problem telling them their wrong like Meddy did as well as Nathan sticking up for them too.

Overall, this was another fun read by this author that I liked!

This was a riot. "Dial A for Aunties" was absolutely delightful, so I was thrilled to see a sequel all ready to go. The aunties are present and their shenanigans are dialed up to 11. Yes, the twist at the end is obvious, but this is too spit-out-your-beverage funny to care. Komodo dragon hats for all!

THE AUNTIES ARE BACK! I adore Jesse's debut novel, Dial A for Aunties. I love that they're all back for the wedding in this one. This time they're here to stop a mafia family. If anyone can do it, it's them!

I wanted to love this so much but it was just so over the top for me. Entertaining but I felt myself cringing a whole lot - Meddy needs some damn boundaries with her family! This one takes place at Meddy and Nathan’s wedding in England and involves the mafia and class A knockoffs and a whole lot of Ma’s TCM. Hilarious misadventures but it gave me anxiety!

Whoop whoop! My stomach truly hurts after laughing so hard! I laughed more than a regular dental patient who just exposed to extra laughing gas. My eyes are still watery! My cheeks hurt. That was absolutely so much fun!

When I read some chapters of this laugh out loud uncontrollably, incredibly hilarious book, I dropped my e-reader off and a few times I personally dropped down off the couch and found myself trapped in another hysterical laughing crisis.

Mark my words: THIS BOOK IS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF REAL FUN!

If you read the first, you already know Meddy Chan, her traditional, unconventional, totally sweet but also batshit crazy family members, including her ma and her three but one of a kind aunts.

At the end of this book, we witnessed the ladies finally got away with Ah Guan’s murder ( that assaulting sleaze- ball dug his own grave by massing with wrong girl and very wrong family) and Meddy finally introduced her family to her love of her life Nathan who finally proposed.

We got some snippets of this book to learn how wedding gown shopping of Meddy goes on and we learn more about aunties’ strikingly purpendecilar ( just like Deep Purple’s album) outfit choices and eye- bleedingly gorgeous hats.

After reading those pages, I was so excited for the second book. The story concept is great mash up of Crazy Rich Asians meets My Big Fat Greek Wedding with Weekend at Bernie’s vibes ( when you read third uncle’s abduction parts you’ll probably understand this reference)

Meddy and Nathan will get marry at Oxford Christ Church. Even though Meddy’s ma and aunties try to steal the show with eye-bleeding-ly sparkling purple costumes and Komodo dragon hats and fake British accents ( their favorite idiomatic expression is “dog’s bollocks! “ and unfortunately they insist to repeat those terms in front of Nathan’s ultra posh, aristocrat family members) , they already hired a great family of five as wedding vendors. So what could go wrong!

Well, let me rephrase my question: when aunties involve into an incident what could go right? Because this sweet family of five seems like tight- knit mafia family who chose this wedding to conduct their next shady business: they plan to execute someone important who will attend to the wedding and if Meddy tries to tell anything to Nathan, they threaten her to talk to the authorities about Ah Guan’s suspicious murder. Both of her family and Nathan will go to the prison because of her mistake!

Poor Meddy still gets haunted from her past but she has to do something to stop this dangerous people ruin her wedding by saving the person’s life they’ve targeted!

Thankfully team of aunties are already experienced to get away with murder. As intimidating First Aunt acts like someone between Vito Corleone meets Downtown Abbey’s Maggie Smith, Second Aunt keeps launching into another Tai Chi move. Ma keeps smuggling pots in her panties and Fourth Aunt keeps getting drunk and tying the kidnapped men with cable cords she carried in her First Class fake Louis Vuitton baggages. So everything is under control! They can stop the execution and the wedding may go as it’s planned without any incident! Well, think again!

I already gave enough away! But I’m telling you my friends, this book is the funniest, the most entertaining, hilarious thing I’ve lately read! It guarantees long and unstoppable laugh out loud moments!

I think I never say no to another sequel! Aunties’ adventures are more addictive than NYC’s Levain Bakery cookies! ( if you already tasted those cookies, you would easily understand how I adored this book!)

Special thanks to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for sharing this amazing digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest thoughts.

It is finally Meddy’s turn. While she has planned and photographed tons of weddings, now she needs to find the vendors that will make her day perfect. When her aunts plan a meeting with what turns out to be the perfect vendors, Meddy is thrilled. Until the night before the wedding when she overhears one of them talking about taking someone out at the wedding. Will Meddy and her aunts be able to stop them?

When a huge book slump hit and it took me 10 days to read a single book, I knew I needed to pull in the big guns for my next read. Well let me tell you, Jesse Q. Sutanto did not disappoint! I just loved catching up with Meddy and her amazing family and thre antics they get into! I don’t want to give anything away but if you loved Dial A For Aunties you don’t miss to miss this sequel!

This series is not for me. I found the first book to be unbelievably silly and this one follows suit. Book 2 of the series picks up with preparations for Meddy and Nathan’s wedding. The family of wedding planners hires another Asian family of wedding planners and everything seems like it is going to be perfect. The night before the wedding though, Meddy overhears Staphanie (other wedding planner family’s photographer) having a very shady phone call about something going down at the wedding. It turns out other Asian family isn’t wedding planners but mafia and they are going to kill someone at the wedding. Due to various threats Meddy cannot tell Nathan and she ends up running around like a lunatic with her aunts the whole of her wedding day. I just found it too dumb and annoying, especially Meddys inner monologues, to enjoy at all. And honestly poor Nathan.
