"She Gets the Girl" was a lovely read! Reminded me a lot of "How You Get the Girl" by Taylor Swift. I found the story to be predictable, but in an enjoyable way. The characters were fun and well rounded.

I couldn't get enough of this beautiful queer YA love story! Set on a college campus, Lippincott and Derrick encompass all the struggles of college life, finding yourself, found family, and lots of steamy sapphic love.

I really enjoyed this book! Admittedly it took me a long time to finish, I suspect because I didn't particularly like one of the main characters. Molly was so scared of everything unfamiliar, and it was sometimes frustrating to see her blow small things out of proportion. While her behavior was explained it didn't make it less frustrating at times to read. By the end, I was rooting for them to get together and was happy with the way things concluded. I really enjoyed reading a story about entering college, as I'm going through the same life change. Also, of course, I loved the sapphic representation! Generally, I'd say this book was great and I'd recommend it to people who like cute sapphic YA reads!

I adore this book. I went into it for a sapphic romance because I am always looking for more of those love stories, and I was most pleasantly surprised with how much of a coming-of-age story this was and how heartfelt and emotional the journies these two characters went on were. As someone from an abusive home who felt a lot of pressure to take care of her family from a very young age, and as someone with anxiety and difficulty navigating relationships, both platonic and romantic, Molly and Alex each hit very close to home, and I am so impressed with the storytelling ability Rachael and Alyson showcased with this. And for this to be inspired by where the authors met and went to college? ADORABLE.

What a delightful, well-written, engaging rom-com! Both perspectives are engaging and well-developed, with distinctive voices and strong arcs. The plot mechanics are excellent—we love a Cyrano story where the dating coach falls for the client—and the emotional beats are authentic and heart-yanking. I love the yearning and the slow burn, and the HEA at the end more than delivers. What a joy!

This book was fun! It's exactly what I look for in an enemies (though I think antagonist is a better term for them in the beginning) to lovers. A quick fun read with well developed characters and a relationship that actually makes sense and that you can actually see develop as opposed to instalove.

An absolutely delightful book. I loved it so much and will be recommending it far and wide. It balances humor and heart with some tough life stuff, and the two authors (unsurprisingly! :)) compliment each other's writing. There are so many memorable scenes I will carry with me.

This was an outstandingly delicious friends to lovers book! I love how natural their relationship formed both romantically & through their friendship.

Alex and Molly are both dealing with their own internal battles that neither has really discussed before. It was a huge deal when they opened up about to each other. Such well written characters!
The coffee shop scene was my favorite - I KNOW - it's not even about them, but I loved seeing miss suave in action! Character growth was good, not the best because they were still young adult asswipes sometimes lol.

Cannot wait to read more by Rachael in the future!

Thanks Netgalley & the publisher for the advanced copy!

very cute and sweet! Not my favorite book by this duo, but still a fun one! The characters were well written, as always and I enjoyed their friends to lover trope.

This book was sweet and heartfelt. A good new adult romance. I did feel the premise of the characters different tropes was a bit done before, but it's romance so I think that is expected. Overall happy I read it and I liked the writing enough to pick up another by the authors if given the chance. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

One of the best sapphic romcoms I've ever read, featuring two well developed main characters and a great supporting cast. The characters were messy and young but also endearing. I highly recommend.

An adorable sapphic YA book that has two girls working hard to get other girls only to realize they like one another. Super cute.

Trust. Alex can’t seem to earn it from her girlfriend, Natalie. She runs away from things and has a hard time opening up and being honest. Natalie is in a band and leaving, and she isn’t sure flirty Alex can stay faithful.

Molly is awkward. She doesn’t know how to talk to people, doesn’t have any friends but her mom, and has the biggest crush on Nora, a classmate that she doesn’t really know.

When college brings Alex and Molly together, they form a pact. Alex needs Natalie to trust her, and Molly wants to get to know Nora. Alex agrees to “coach” Molly to the get the girl of her dreams, while proving to Natalie that she is a worthy girlfriend.

This was lovely! The characters were adorable, and the novel held my heart. I so enjoyed this one.

After multiple hugely successful books, including Five Feet Apart which was turned into an incredible movie starring Cole Sprouse (Jughead in Riverdale & Cody in Disney’s the Suite Life), Rachel Lippincott brings another banger, only this time co-authored by none other than her wife, Alyson Derrick.

She Gets the Girl gave me everything I wanted in a sapphic coming of age, freshman in college queer romance… and then some! I read the entire book in a single day. I just could not put it down! There were ups and downs, at one moment leaving me feeling absolutely hurt for Alex and/or Molly at any given time, and then I’d be laughing out loud. I think that’s definitely something characteristic of Lippincott’s writing style.

What the two authors gave us was a piece of themselves and their love. This book really made me want to be friends with them. I can already tell that they are game and food lovers, who would rather stay in and watch a movie (not horror), or just get to know someone over some delicious Korean barbeque… maybe? I could be wrong and it could all just be the characters I love so much.

Either way, this book was HIGHLY entertaining. I recommend to anyone that wants an adorably satisfying queer romcom.

Love a sapphic romcom!! Each of the main characters were well developed and had their own individual arcs, but the romance was sweet and satisfying and balanced the heavier moments.

Super wonderful read! I laughed some, I was sad some. The author team works well and the character building is what I look for in stories like this. This will be a good addition to my school library.
