really enjoyable .. makes time travel in a new direction credible ..and the dilemma of whether living through bad old times is better than present day nightmare ultimate escape dream . Except the past is actually worse for us .. but not in this series (I had not realised it was third in a series . But i think this might be most entertaining premise .. lighter than it seems .. which is a bonus for dystopian works for me ...

I enjoyed this book so much that I really wished we could time travel! This was a fun adventure and there was suspense too. I will be looking for more from this new to me author.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Great bunch of characters, interesting concept, and great settings. I thought it was very believable, as much as any time travelling book can be. The places seemed very authentic I really believed in the people on the team and various characters in the places they went to.. Don't want to give anything away, but I have already recommended this book to another reader, and it kept me entertained.

Escaping Home was a tremendous read! I am so grateful for the opportunity to read this title! I was more than a little sad that this was the final book in a trilogy. I am quite hopeful that the author will consider possibly turning toward maybe a spin-off from this final story (hint... hint... if anyone with influence sees this!). There is so much potential for this to occur!!!

I had absolutely no problem giving this book a solid 5 stars! I loved how I was unable to guess my way throughout the pages. I absolutely did not expect this ending! This is utterly fantastic! As a result of all of the unexpected twists and turns, I am at a loss on how to give a very detailed review on this book. Anything I say will give away too much on our country's timeline. So, I will simply say that this is an absolute must read (not just this one book, but rather the entirety of the trilogy)! Don't miss out on this incredibly imaginative and brilliant take on the future of our country/world.

One thing I will say is that there were a couple of little details that just felt like they didn't make sense (like how can they know when they go back to the same year that they will not go back to the same moment and undo what all has occurred at that time. However, this was finally explained along with a few other small details that would have just felt too unrealistic to fully enjoy and accept. Ms. Cooper-Burnett truly has a beautiful imagination, and seemed to think of everything! I hope y'all read these stories and get as much enjoyment as I did!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Black Rose Writing through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This is an excellent choice for someone that enjoys time traveling and historical type fiction.
Premise
With the country under the threat of war, a group of time-traveling government agents devise a risky plan to keep their families safe. But transporting hundreds of years to the past and blending in may prove much more dangerous than they expected.
Unfortunately I couldn’t get into this one as it’s not really my type of genre and was a bit hard for me to follow, but I recommend it to anyone that’s enjoys science fiction and a time traveling element.

I normally read and review my booklist by publication date but broke my rule as I wanted something light to read and so chose Escaping Home. Whilst this book charts a very possible fantasy future and I did finish it, many things broke my willing suspension of disbelief of the picture Christy Cooper-Burnett did her best to paint.

I will mention but two of them as I really hate spoilers. First up, holing up in a four room "hotel" for an extended period of time in the late 18th Century and only being seen to eat breakfast in public with too many other meals, for the more than a dozen people involved, consisting of military style ready meals eaten in those rooms. Methinks that that not being noticed and remarked upon is stretching credulity more than a little!!

Then there was the language spoken. The likelihood that a group of people could shunt back almost 300 years in time and speak their version of English without anyone doing anything much to question them about it is surreal, especially when there are such classic lines as "you had me going for a minute there pal".

If you fancy reading something light and fluffy with an interesting core to it, then give Escaping Home a try.

A very practical novel, including all the necessities that a person would take on a time travel journey, to 1790, I am impressed by this level of detail. The book itself moved at a good pace, and I enjoyed it. Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for giving me a copy in exchange for an honest review.
