I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.

This one was a quick read! Small town secrets and a prominent family at work again. The police are no help so it's up to quirky characters to solve a mystery. To be honest, the story is boring, but the cover is FIRE.

Ich konnte mich leider wirklich nicht einfinden in den Krimi, der Schreibstil war leider etwas hölzern und das Ende war doch ziemlich enttäuschend...

I can't say this was my favorite book. I loved the premise and for once, I even liked the cover but it felt a bit off but that might just be me personally. Overall the story was actually really engaging and I loved all the twists and turns. The synopsis definitely made me think it'd be a story that I loved but possibly just the writing style wasn't to my taste but that's just my personal preference. The story itsself is still worth a read though as it is a really good wee twisty thriller and you might find that you take to that style of writing more than I did. By no means would I say that it was in any was a bad story

This one was not for me and it was a DNF very early on. Although the premise was good it did not translate well onto the page.

Thank you to NetGalley for this eARC!

I really enjoyed this book. I started this book before bed and woke up to finish it the next morning. I had to know what happened. I would definitely recommend this book.

Overall the premise of the story was good, although the ending was a bit of a letdown. The writing style could've been better and it would've been nice if the story followed the same pace as the prologue. The story did a nice job of addressing social issues that are still very much a concern in our society, but the storyline could've been stronger.

Well, this book sounded interesting, until I started reading it and then, it fizzled out shortly thereafter. The premise sounded so promising, and I sort of had high hopes for this book, but unfortunately, those hopes were squashed immensely.

This is the book you just can’t put down and feel resentful when you have to! I absolutely loved it. I liked the way all characters thoughts were described. I hate it when you don’t have this, essential, part. You can still have a twist and the added bonus of a whydunnit.

I was really looking forward to reading this from the blurb however I was massively disappointed, I couldn’t connect with the characters or the plot and it fell really flat for me

Didn't like. Hated the characters. Hated the way they handled the different situations. I know that reading requires some suspension of disbelief, but this was supposed to be a mystery not a fantasy. I made myself finish this book, but it was a painful experience. This just wasn't for me.

Everything about the description had me excited to read this book. It took me months and months to read because the story was dragging and not super compelling in my opinion. This thriller fell really thriller short for me and wish it lived up to the hype that I feel like it could have been. I am an avid thriller reading so it takes a great story with much depth to have me invested enough to love what I am reading. I just wasn't quite there on this one.

Anna meets a handsome librarian when she is on the lookout for some family secrets in the library. Belonging to an elite family in town, she has had it all but life hasn't been easy on her. She is troubled by a secret she stumbles upon that could destroy her family. She teams with her brother and beau she sets out to find the truth and the end is certainly something you did not anticipate. The turn of events seem a bit predictable but the end is overwhelming and just leaves you with a question....did it really have to end the way it did?

Anna Goddard is a pampered rich girl in a small town. Her brother is the family rebel, Anna is the perfect daughter. Until one day she finds out something about her family and she needs to do some sleuthing. With the help of a shy handsome historian she sets about uncovering the Truth.

This book isn’t very well-written and it’s boring. The pacing is super slow. There’s an attention to every mundane detail that bogs the whole thing down and the dialogue is awful. Who talks like that? No one I know. I read this book months ago and I’m just now writing up the review. I don’t remember much else about it except there’s also insta-love. Ugh.

A very good read, Silent Pretty Things has a lot going for it. Good writing, a well thought off plot, and great characters.

Unfortunately I chose to not finish this read. I couldn't relate to the characters and found it difficult to immerse myself in the book itself.

The idea of the plot sounded thrilling, and the front cover design really drew me in.

I was unable to finish Silent Pretty Things prior to it being archived, it just didn’t grab me in the way I hoped it would. I just didn’t mesh with the writing style.
