I've read at least one other book by Rogers and enjoyed it, and I found this one to be entertaining and engaging, as well.

The pacing is appropriate for the genre, and I love stories told from multiple POVs as it gives me a more well-rounded feel for things. There were a few unexpected twists. I look forward to reading future books by this author.

I've read a few of Gemma's books and this one didnt disappoint either.

It kept me gripped, I started it early evening and I couldn't go to bed til I knew what happened. It's an addictive read.

I love how the book is written and all of the different points of view and narrators.

It's a real page turner and a must read for anyone.

Christopher who's a doctor, and his wife Ali live with their 1 year old daughter. Ali has just returned back to working which she struggles with a bit so her friend Brooke helps her by looking after Eden a few mornings a week. However, something happens that tears this family almost apart. But who did it and why? A thrilling story that will keep you turning the pages to find out what happens.

Not my first book by Gemma Rogers and it won't be my last.
In this child abduction story, unlike many other similar books you know who the abductor is early on. This did not detract from the mystery of how it would end. The characters were all at least somewhat likeable, even the guilty ones. Where I may not have agreed with the things they did, I could at least see where they were coming from and had an understanding of why they did certain things. There was one character I really didn't like. And it's not who you think it would be. He just seemed to have no redeeming qualities overall.
A fast and fun ride. Will be on the lookout for the next Gamma Rogers book.

Many thanks to netgalley and Boldwood Books for the advance copy for me to review.

The Babysitter is a fast paced, tense story that gets you hooked immediately. Told from the point of view of 3 narrators, it takes you on a wild ride from the first page through the last. Ali and Christopher are parents to a precious baby girl, Eden and Ali's best friend Brooke is a trusted Babysitter. Things go awfully wrong when Brooke bumps into an ex boyfriend Jimmy, who assumes Eden is his child. The action being told through Ali, Eden and Jimmy's point of view keeps the story going and also explores all the relationships with each other. I would definitely recommend this book!

‘The babysitter’ is another great read from Gemma Rogers.

While novels based around child abductions are common, this one felt very unique, unlike most in this genre, in this novel we are constantly aware of the baby’s whereabouts, with the plot centred around the relationships between characters, showing the drastic consequences that can arise from deception and extortion.

The ‘babysitter’ is Brooke, who helps out her friend, Ali, by looking after baby, Eden, a couple of times a week. The story begins with Brooke receiving a nasty knock to the head to enable Eden to be abducted from a park by a man she calls ‘Dada’. It quickly becomes clear than Brooke is less an innocent victim than it first appears….

The original take on the child abduction plot had me invested from pretty early on, and as the story unfolded, it didn’t disappoint.

Gemma Rogers has a sassy no-nonsense signature style that I personally love! This is a book I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to readers of this genre.

My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book own exchange for an advance copy.

This is an excellent gritty thriller once again from Gemma Rogers,Ali and Christopher are parents to one year old Eden and Brooke is Ali’s best friend so much so that Brooke is trusted with babysitting for Eden, and that’s when start to go awry.Because Brooke meets her ex boyfriend Jimmy by chance one afternoon and she tells him he is Eden’s father as she passes off Eden has hers. After paying towards Eden’s up keep for 6 months things come to a head when Jimmy kidnaps Eden when Brooke tells him she is moving away, and Ali and Christopher are still in the dark about what Brooke has been doing.Obviously they are both distraught about having Eden snatched and the pressure mounts on both of them and secrets are revealed which puts more strain on their marriage.Meanwhile Jimmy is unaware of the true story, the book had me gripped from the first page to the last with the riveting storyline.I think Gemma Rogers is going to be up there with the best authors of this genre if she carries on writing these excellent books.Without a doubt a brilliant 5 star read.

I know I am constantly saying there are many books out about missing children/adults but this book is a whole new take/angle on the theme and is very clever indeed
Told by 3 narrators, ( trying not to give anything away ) all I can say is the story and where it went surprised me and in a good way, a really good way
All 3 main characters had me swopping and changing how I felt about them as the story progressed and there is this wonderful moment when one of the 3 announces something to her husband that causes the story to take on a new edge and it came right out of the blue
Really good writing, interesting characters that I liked as it wasn’t easy to pigeon hole your views on them and some great supporting cast from a wet behind the ears Policeman to an overbearing and coddling Mum
Really enjoyed this book, full of suspense, drama and unexpectedness, a thrilling read

9/10

The Babysitter is a fun, tense read! Set over three days, with four main characters (five if you include the adorable eat-anything-at-any -time baby), we learn about the kidnapping and how it happened in the first few pages. So what’s left? Plenty! Well written chapters from each perspective, richly drawn characters and a story that races along at a breakneck pace. Thoroughly recommended.

Thank you NetGalley, Boldwood Books and Gemma Roger's for the ARC of The Babysitter. I'm so fortunate to have read all of Gemma's books.
Fantasric!!Again I'm impressed with her writing style, thrill of the story line, character description, ability to have a full length novel take place over a 3 day period.
This story is written from three character perspectives which the author does remarkably well. Brooke the Babysitter takes care of Eden twice a week, she has been friends with Ali (husband Christopher) for a few years now and is trusted to care for Eden regularly. Jimmy, an ex-boyfriend to Brooke, thinks that Eden is his... Due to Brooke coming up with what she thought was a harmless idea, Jimmy has been paying her child support... and then everything goes side ways, and Eden goes missing. Ali and Christopher are beside themselves, an investigation is now underway as Brooke is taken to the hospital for a blow to the back of her head.
This is a must read, pick up your copy to read and fund out what happens and who is guilty
You will want to read the rest of Gemma's books as well.

The Babysitter by Gemma Rogers was a suspenseful book that kept me reading. Told from multiple points of view, readers won't want to put this book down. Ali is the mother of one-year-old Eden and her friend, Brooke, sometimes watches the girl to help out. When Brooke is attacked in the park and Eden is kidnapped, a race to find the girl is on.

Jimmy is the kidnapper he believes that Eden is his daughter. But is she really? Brooke is lying to the police and they don't trust her. She knows more than she is letting on and she is losing control. She is desperate to find a way out of the mess she has put herself in but every move she makes just digs a deeper hole.

The Babysitter is a twisted tale of revenge gone wrong. Desperate people doing desperate acts to get what they want. It is a very good book that will keep readers up at night.

This seemed like a good plot and because we know straight away who has abducted Eden I expected this story to have a great twist or shock at the end but unfortunately I was left distinctly underwhelmed. Sorry but this book just didn't live up to my expectations.
