Great read for any Fullmetal Alchemist fan! This would be a real good introduction for a new manga reader who is a fan from the tv series.

Being a huge fan of both the graphic novel and the show, I was so excited to see another Fullmetal Alchemist story. Being back with Edward and Alphonse made me so happy. Their bond is one of the sweetest things ever and I love how protective they are of each other. I also loved getting more Winry in this one. This one definitely a fun addition!

This one shot light novel is a really nice look at the journey Winry goes on while the Elric brothers are off on their journey. It's so nice to fill in that gap. I always wanted more of her in the original series, so I am very happy to have read this.
If you are a fan of light novels, or of Fullmetal Alchemist and Winry, then I think it's worth picking up.

More than 2/3 of "Fullmetal Alchemist: A New Beginning" book is focused on Winry and the rest goes back to the Elric brothers. I haven't exactly finished reading the original books or the original show, but I knew enough to get through this book. It doesn't advance the main storyline but provides important character studies, especially for Winry (the main reason I picked up this title). This would be excellent for young readers, especially if you're trying to get them to take a break from reading graphic novels or watching tv. (I received a free ARC from the publisher via Netgalley.)
