Such a well written and beautiful book. This is a work of nonfiction.
I was brought to tears multiple times as I read. This is a collection of poems and memories people have about their dogs. So many lovely memories and how much they enjoyed spending time with their dogs whether it was walking, snuggling or giving them treats. They all had great memories and miss them so much. It made me think about my dogs that are no longer with us and miss them too all the while having all the wonderful memories.

Thanks to netgalley for the ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. A charming collection of poems and vignettes on the unconditional love, devotion, and joy our dogs bring us. I was laughing at some of them and dabbing my eyes at others. Highly recommend for dog lovers or anyone who doesn't quite understand dog lovers and is curious as to why we are so obsessed with our dogs. A heartwarming reminder of how much love and joy our dogs give us and how many lessons they can teach us about life. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ #courtneypeppernell#alldogsaregood

This was incredible. I absolutely adored reading this. In All Dogs Are Good, the author perfectly captured the relationship of a human and who is arguably the most loved member of the family. Dogs have the power to change lives and bring extra love and light into your days which the author portrayed beautifully. If you are a dog owner, you absolutely need to read this, it will not only make your feelings feel seen, but open your eyes to the value your dog holds on you too.

Filled with heartfelt poems and prose on the love, dedication, and laughter our dogs bring, as well as the unique lessons they teach us along the way, bestselling author Courtney Peppernell’s vignettes of life with our dogs are a touching reminder of the gifts they give us during their journey on earth.

I remember stumbling upon someone’s recommendation of All Dogs Are Good on Instagram and thinking immediately “This is the book for me!”.

I immediately contacted the publisher and my request for it on NetGalley was approved…

And this was indeed THE book for me.

For anyone who’s lived with dogs for most of their lives and has experienced all stages of a dog’s life, they’ll read this book and think back on their own experiences.

I know I did.

I laughed, smiled and cried (many times I might add), because this book is beautiful, comforting and heartbreaking all at once.

The joys of a puppy and his mischief, the companionship and friendship of an adult dog, the comfort they give us when we’re down and sad, and the inevitable heartbreak and emptiness that follows when they leave us so very soon.

“There will be times
in your life
where you will reach
for a hand
and get a paw instead.”

I related to all parts of this book.

And if you’re a dog lover believe me when I say you need this book in your life!

“A dog’s purpose
is to find the deepest part of your heart,
in which they will stay,
just for the thought
of walking beside you
one more day.”

Thank you so very much to NetGalley and Central Avenue Publishing for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for my review and honest opinion.

I was absolutely sold on this book of poems and vignettes based on the cover alone. What dog lover could resist that face which seemed to invite the reader to come and play. While I enjoyed the motivation behind the poems and memories, overall the writing felt lifted directly from the author's journals or notes without the benefit of refinement.

I received an early copy from NetGalley. All opinions are mine.

Actual rating: 3.5 stars

This collection of poems and short stories is perfect for any dog lovers out there. The only reason I decided to pick up this book in the first place was because I knew that this was going to be something so heartfelt and adorable - and also because it had a dog on the cover and title, so I knew it was already going to be a great book.

It was such a short read, but it was very touching all throughout. Each poem or short story was either narrated from the dog's point of view, or the author's, and I personally enjoyed both POVs. I also enjoyed how it was a mix of different scenarios regarding dogs and their owners, and it featured cute stories about other dogs as well. There were definitely some poems and stories that were more heartbreaking and made me shed a couple of tears, but it still provided so much happiness and hope in every page.

Oh, and all the illustrations included were a huge bonus point, too!

This book made me want to cuddle all my dogs even more. It's something every dog lover should check out and read.

This book is for every animal lover out there but especially dog lovers! The poems in this collection are so lovely and cutesy. We get so many different stories about different dogs and different breeds. Everything that dogs give to us: companionship, love, friendship, a listening ear. Peppernell captures all this in this collection of poems and stories. The art inside is a great addition to the poems.

It was a fairly quick read and I really enjoyed reading it. A few of the pieces brought a tear to my eye as the collection also talks about how hard it is to lose our four legged friends. This would make a lovely gift to any dog lover!

"You'll always be my best friend and I'll be yours, you with two hands and me with four paws."

All dog lovers and owners know the feeling of love and loss that our four-legged friends bring to us while they live by our side. This collection would make a wonderful gift to a dog lover as it is sweet and reminds people of the love they shared in life with their pet.

Mostly told from the dogs perspective it was so heartwarming and also heart wrenching to see people reminisce over the time and memories they had with their dogs.

There is a main focus of dogs teaching us about love and loss which I think is very true. For many, a dog may be the first true thing that you begin to love and take care of, and as you grow up and the dog gets older, one day we realise that we'll have to deal with their loss in our lives.

The collection itself was fairly quick to read and easy to put down and pick back up again if you needed to. (or you can be like me and read it in one sitting!) I look forward to seeing everyone else's thoughts on this collection!

This eArc was provided to me in exchange for my honest review.

This got me. I have 3 very special dogs and as a dog lover I found myself getting emotional during certain parts throughout this book. The foreword alone gave me so much warmth when reading it.⁣

The book is written not only from Peppernell’s point of view, but also from a dogs point of view. It really gave it an extra bit of emotion because it allows the reader to imagine their dog in those pieces. ⁣

The descriptions are so vivid and the imagery used can be really nostalgic at times. You can’t read this book and not think of your family dog or remember a dog that is no longer around from your lifetime.⁣

If you have ever lost a dog and aren’t able to find the words to explain your grief this book is for you.⁣

"this love of ours is a lifelong pact"

I knew this book would break me into pieces when I requested it, but I did it anyway. This is the book I have been looking for a year and seven months, since my dog left me. I have been looking for pieces of this book in every poem about grief that I have read, but apart from some of Mary Oliver’s and Lang Leav’s poems, nothing ever came close to it.

If you had a dog, if you have a dog, if you’re considering getting a dog, this book, those little stories and poems will inevitably echo your own feelings, whether it’s the stories about beginnings, middles or endings.

I connected with every single one of these stories and I think that everyone who's ever had a dog will find something of their own relationship with their dog in this book.
I cried at the first poem and didn’t stop until the end. I will forever be grateful to Courtney Peppernell for putting into words my infinite love for the most incredible being who ever entered my life.
