5 STARS!
This book is perfect for anybody who has a furbaby they love dearly and wholly.

When I began reading this book I didn’t expect it to be some from the dogs’ point of view. I adored this book. While reading this book, I felt so many different emotions. It is also almost a year since my own furbaby had to have a surgery to save her life. This book isn’t just words. It’s feelings and emotions every dog owner has felt in one way or another. All the different stories/poems were told so well and very descriptive of the dog. I loved this book and read it one sitting.

This book reminded me of all the good times I’ve ever had with any dog and how dogs are too good for us. I’ve always said, “Dogs are a part of our lives, but we are their whole world.” and this book really defines that. I will be getting this book in paperback for my shelf seeing as me and my furbaby/reading buddy Gretchy had fun reading it. So I for sure highly recommend this read!

4 stars for dog lovers! This book struck all the right chords in my thought and made me want to cuddle my pups extra hard. I wish there was more poetry in the world like this about the beauty of our relationships with dogs.

Beautiful! This was a magical read that kept my face constantly smiling. What made these poems wonderful was the fact my dog let me use her as a book pillow as she slept on my lap(she’s currently there as I type this).
This book is for those who love dogs, for those who have a dog(or more) who had a dog, who wants a dog, who appreciate dogs! Enjoy! It is definitely worth it!

Dependable 4 stars, and that´s why....

... If you think of this book as a book for children, to help them bond with their pets that they don´t yet have, to teach them responsibility and make them understand that a dog is a living creature with feelings... well in that case this book deserves even six stars! It´s touching, making readers of all ages emotional, it makes you run to your own pet and give it a big hug even if it´s a snail in the aquarium.

... If you think of this book as a collection of poems, and clearly the author wants it to be judged in a poetry category, then I am sorry, but these poems aren´t very good. Many words, phrases, even, are mismatched, displaced, just aren´t where they supposed to be. By all the standards this is just bad poetry, even though most poems sound just beautiful.

So make your own judgment, but don´t be put off by harsh academical standards. After all poetry, especially if it´s about love, must make you feel something. This collection certainly does.

***
All Dogs Are Good is a beautiful collection of poems and prose by Courtney Peppernell, a tribute to man’s best friend and those who love/have loved them. There are beautiful pieces from the eyes of dogs and from those who have had dogs, of old dogs finding new homes, a person getting their first puppy, losing your best friend and the day to day joys of having a dog.
I laughed, I cried and I most definitely loved this collection.
I have a dog, an old girl getting up in years and I found sadness and peace in this book about what that means. ‘Are you home yet?’ made me cry tears of both joy and sorrow, by far my favorite, but not my only one. If you love dogs, have a dog, miss a dog this beautiful collection may just be for you.

Courtney Peppernell's poetry has always been one of my favourites. This book is incredible and made me cry. The first half is told from the perspective of our faithful four-legged companion. Dogs will always be there for you, no matter what stage of life you are in. Second half is a love letter to dogs (especially her dogs) by author. It's moving, heartbreaking, and heartwarming all at the same time. The reader is treated to gorgeous art throughout the book, which is the cherry on top.

This was such a sweet book, and to say I got a bit emotional at times reading this is an understatement.
Often times - especially in poetry - I come across sentences that maybe the author thinks might sound pretty, but in actuality the words don't really mean anything to them.  They're just empty words that may or may not rhyme. This book, however, is quite literally the opposite. This is real, and is made of years and lifetimes of feeling, and holds so much meaning to anyone who has ever cherished a dog.

I dont know why, but I wasn't expecting some of the poems to be from the dog's point of view, so I found that added element interesting. I did struggle at times with that writing style, but ultimately the different dogs that are described and whose stories are told so beautifully kept me reading. The descriptions are so vivid and wonderfully put, and the imagery is really nostalgic at times. I loved that. More than once did I read a page and see a loved family dog in my memory, and that's why I wanted to read this book, and why I would read it again.

If you're looking for a comforting poetry book that tells of different dogs and their own unique personalities, and then the things learned from each of them, read this.

All dogs definitely are good!

A lovely collection of poetry about dogs, and as a dog lover I enjoyed reading the various poems about the joy a dog can bring. I particularly liked the little illustrations littered throughout the book.

Reading this poetry collection was such a pleasant experience. It's just beyond adorable and I loved the theme of dogs and the importance they have in our lives, especially the most ordinary everyday moments. I've always wanted to have a dog so this was a perfect fit to my reading mood at any time.

I like that Courtney used inspiration from her dogs, Hero and Dakota, and wrote pieces inspired by them, among with many other dogs that found their place in this collection of poetry and prose. It was a joy to read and I think I appreciate our four-legged friends even more now. Besides, the illustrations in the book are adorable.

Overall, a pleasant read, and such a departure from Courtney's previous collections. I can't wait to read something by her and I feel like this topic really suited her writing style.

This is simply a beautiful dedication to dogs and the people who love them. It doesn't matter which phase of life you are in, this book touches on them all. Grief, happiness, goofiness, practicality, and simply the love of animals are all touched on and the reader connects with those emotions fluently. A great book for dog lovers, even those who simply want to feel would benefit from reading this. Beautiful and poignant, I smiled and had a tear once or twice while reading ALL DOGS ARE GOOD. Bravo!

''we are more than the things that make us feel haunted''

I felt and cried and felt again so many times during the process of reading this book. This is not Courtney's best poetry collection, but it fullfils its purpose: reaching your heart. All the people that had, have and will have a dog and love poetry, should totally give this book a chance.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this before publication date.

For anyone who has ever loved a dog, this book is a poignant adventure into the joys and sorrows of that one of a kind relationship. While the poetry isn't always clever, Courtney Peppernell is remarkably good at capturing the straightforward love between a dog and its person. I found myself reminiscing about my own first dog often and occasionally wiping away tears. This is a good book to read with a pup in your lap.

I loved this! I read one short to my dogs every night before bed so I would have something to smile about while I went to bed. This book really does encompass exactly how it feels to love a dog so much. I can not wait to buy this for all my dog loving friends and recommend it to all my customers.

This book really hit me right in the heart. I felt like every poem/story reminded me of why I love my dogs so much. I was on the verge of tears through many of them. I think its a wonderful read for all dog owners or even anyone thinking of getting a dog. I truly believe we aren't worthy of the selfless love our dogs give us. Everyone one of the stories brought me to a different time period with my dog and I loved that. A lifetime of love was one of my favorite stories.

This book is the one for all dog lovers or people who need convincing to get a dog. Being a dog owner can evoke some quite complex feelings and this book perfectly summed it up. It had me welling up at the accuracy of it all. Nearly every poem was relatable and it’s made me change my way of thinking. Rather than dwelling on the fact they will inevitably be with me only a short period of my life, I’ve learn to just cherish it whilst I they are here because that is exactly what they do. Now that, changing someone’s perspective, is a powerful thing for a book to do. Highly recommend.
