This is such and important book for children to read, especially young girls. Even though society is changing as a whole with there outdated views on gender and race equality, in the pages of this children's book the author has captured RBG's beliefs and her persistent and tireless fight for equal rights overcoming many obstacles placed in her way solely because she was a woman.
Extremely well written and the illustrations are gorgeous.

I truly loved this entry in the long running series. Ruth’s story is told simply and well. Readers get a fine sense of what motivated Ruth and all that she accomplished, despite much overt sexism. They also learn that she was a broadminded fighter for everyone’s rights. Unlike some, readers learn that she could get along with those who disagreed with her. Watch for the short part in the story about her and Antonin Scalia.

Throughout the illustrations are quietly appealing. I loved the attention paid to Ruth’s glassses.

I highly recommend this title.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.

I loved this short & sweet story about the life of an American icon. This told Ruth’s story in a way all young learners can understand and highlighted both her personal and professional life achievements. I love this collection of books and will be adding many to my classroom library!

The illustrations on these were classic, and fit Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s aesthetic perfectly. Her inspiring story was told in easily digestible increments that were simple enough for a child to understand.

This cover is beautiful! If you haven’t seen the movie On The Basis of Sex about RBG, go watch it, it’s fantastic. As an educator I found the wording in this story a bit too sophisticated, although it is short and sweet and gets the point across. I don’t know if younger children would really understand everything, but I do recommend!

I love RBG, love this book series, and will be adding this one to my son’s collection. I appreciate how this series highlights more than who’ll you’ll find in the “traditional” (cough white washed, male centric) history books.

I can't wait to get this for my classroom! The story of RBGs life is told simply for the earliest readers, but it made her very human and relatable and really showed kids what drove her and what made her important. The illustrations were very colorful and engaging too. This will be a great introduction to an inspiring figure for young ones.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

RBG was someone very much unknown to me until a few untold years ago – I probably thought the clunky initials she seemed to be fondly known as had more to do with ink colours and printing than with a Supreme Court judge and social campaigner. So although she's since passed away, I dare say this is a better lesson about the woman's life than I'd ever had before. Here is the lesson she got in Sweden, her own family and how it was awkward to bring it up while working, and the opera evenings spent alongside her greatest rivals on the bench. The artwork is for once something I can approve of, as this series really does succeed in getting it wrong more times than right, but I do think – not for the first time recently – that the books need to have a check for level of vocab, as these legal terms are not universally in the minds of the young target audience members without adult help.

What a wonderful children's book about Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She was such an amazing woman, and I love reading about her life, no matter the intended age group.

The Little People Big Dreams books are so great for young children. They teach them about inspirational people, on a level they can understand. And the illustrations are fabulous!

Also not so fun fact: This is the first book I've read on RBG that has mentioned her death last year. It's been almost a year, and my heart still breaks. She was an incredible woman.

The ‘My First Little People, Big Dreams’ series provides informative and inspirational biographies about people who left a mark on this earth, no matter what difficulties they have encountered.
These stories are very short, but that’s because they’re books for children, so it’s totally understandable.
I think they are a very smart and wonderful way to introduce little children to such important figures.
This little book tells the story of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who spent all her life fighting for equal rights. She truly is a legend and this little book is a great opportunity for children, and adults, to learn about her.

Pros: I knew I wanted to read this book as soon as I saw the cover. Ruth Bader Ginsburg is one of my heroes. I have read many books for adults about RBG, but I was curious to see how she is portrayed in a children's book. I'm a big believer that well-done children's books are just as much for adults as they are from children. I think and hope adults who aren't already big RBG fans will learn a lot from this book. The illustrations in this book are fantastic. My favorite detail was that her school uniform and several other outfits mimic the jabot she wore with her judicial robe. My favorite gift to bring to baby showers and to give children as gifts are books, and I love that I'll be able to share this book with my favorite kids.

Cons: There are some big ideas and topics in this book that make this book much more advanced than a picture book. That's not a bad thing--it's just different from what I expected when I saw the cover of the book. I also didn't love the font of the copy/text. It doesn't fit with the illustrations, which are so well done.

Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books for the opportunity to read this book.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg is one of the most inspiring people of the century. She took her brain and powerhoused her way all the way up to the supreme court. She had a loving and supportive husband who loved her for her brain and despite having children together, she didn't stop on her career goals. I loved this and it's an important one for young kids to read, especially now since she has since passed away.

This book is excellent! Finally, a book about RBG that showcases her accomplishments without giving so much of the credit to her husband. Describing her marriage to Martin as a “partnership” was perfect. I love the brief childhood history and the acknowledgment of the inspiration and drive Ruth got from her mother. I also appreciated the book demonstrated that gender equality isn’t just about women but rather it is about men and women being treated equally under the law. There is so much to love about this book!

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with the opportunity to read and review this book.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg was born in 1933 in NYC. Life was much different for a young, Jewish girl at that time. Still, her mother was brave and intelligent and teaches Ruth that she should be her independent self. Education is stressed as the key to having choices in life. Sadly, Ruth’s Mom dies when she is in High School. This only makes Ruth want to please her mother more. Ruth gets a scholarship to Cornell University and from then on pursues her goal to become a lawyer. She meets the love of her life, Martin. Both are finishing law school and he helps her raise their family. This makes it possible for both to have careers in the law. However, it is much harder for Ruth because she is a woman, and most jobs she is offered are to be a secretary.

This type of treatment, makes Ruth especially want to fight for Equal Rights for everyone. She uses the 14th Amendment of the Constitution to say it’s unconstitutional to treat people different based on gender. Ruth is very effective at taking cases that fight for this right, both for men and women. She is known to be a fierce advocate of equality and applying fairness in cases. In 1993, Ruth joins the Supreme Court, and she is only the second woman ever to hold this incredibly important job. Ruth does fight for what she thinks is right, but also gets along with the other Justices. She is good friends with Anthony Scalia, even though he doesn’t always vote the same on legal cases. She has a way of making people see her point.

So, over time Ruth Bader Ginsburg became a hero to a whole new generation of people. She believes that each person deserves an equal chance in life. If that does not happen, then the court should step in and stop discrimination. RBG becomes a symbol of a person who works hard to accomplish equal rights for all. She certainly changed the lives of many in her lifetime.

This is a great book for children to read. It shows that if they dream of being lawyers, judges, or working for equal rights, that can happen. Many of the cases Ruth voted on, changed their young lives. Now they have the chance to help the next generation. These are very important lessons for kids to learn.

The illustrations I thought were exceptional. They made the book even more vibrant and were done by Judit Orosz.

Thank you NetGalley, Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara, and Frances Lincoln Children’s Books for providing an ARC of this wonderful book, part of the Little People, Big Dreams Series.

A perfect tribute to a smart, legendary woman. This book highlights her commitment to justice and equality, along with the challenges she faced as a woman, a mother, and a lawyer, studying and working in a man's world. Beautiful illustrations!

Ruth Bader Ginsburg by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara is another admirable addition to the wonderful Little People, BIG DREAMS series which has charmed me enough to be considered required reading. Here, children are inspired by some of the most influential people in history, in this case Supreme Court Justice Ginsburg. The autobiographical text is pared down and presented in a simplified manner so as to be absorbed and enjoyed by all ages. You will want to add this latest gem to your collection.

This book is part of a series of books for children focusing on famous people. It shares moments from RBG's life: the passing away of her mother, getting an education, having a family, law school and going to court. Many of these areas can lead to discussions. This shows RBP taking on cases fighting for equality in education and rights to vote. The illustrations are colorful and will appeal to children. I think students in my elementary school will enjoy reading Ruth Bader Ginsburg or having it read to them. Ruth Bader Ginsburg is the newest to be spotlighted in this latest edition of the Little People, BIG DREAMS series by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara. This series is such a delight and the perfect way to educate not just kids but everyone about historic and cultural icons.

Ginsburg was an American lawyer and jurist who served as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States from 1993 until her death in September 2020.. This book portrays Ginsburg as she spends her law career advocating for gender equality to her being appointed for the Supreme Court and was apart of many important cases such as the Voting Rights Act.

Judit Orosz illustrates this installment and does an amazing job. Orosz's art style was so captivating and her art definitely further helped tell Gindburg's story. This installment did a great job of educating me about a historical figure who I adore. I love collecting these books and am so thrilled to add this one to the rest of my collection.
