I had a little bit of trouble with this otherwise very vanilla, friends to lovers, romance.

Set in the fictional town of Rustic Creek, a town in the mountains that is also along the Pacific Ocean, five hours or so north of Los Angeles, Cam, a writers and Reese, a best friend, have come to this town for Founder's Day, and to see their folks.

The folks, in this case, are wealthy enough to have a swimming pool at their house, as well as a tennis court, and guest cottage. Cam is hoping to use the guest cottage to write, but Reese has already gotten there first. Note, that for a cottage, it sounds rather like a full size house, but that is not the point.

This is one of those slow burns, where the lovers do the that dance of trying to get it on, only to be interrupted time and time again. I normally like those kinds of romances. I dont' want them to fall in bed in the first chapter.

So, the books works, and does what it is intended to do.

My problem is that the pace is so slow, and they are wandering around, and playing tennis, and swimming, and doing anything but writing. And talking about setting off fireworks, despite saying a few paragraphs before, that there was a wild fire near the town last year, and isn't it good that the town survived.

Having been through that, as many in the state of California have, playing with fireworks is just about the last thing I would do to get over writers block.

I had some other little nits, such as Reese talking about a baby frog, when she meant a small frog, because a baby frog is a tadpole. But, they don't ruin the story. They just make me stop and question where her mind is at.

So, an ok romance. It definitely delivered on the friends to lovers.

Cam and Reese are best friends. Both are back in they're hometown for different reasons. Cam needs to write another blockbuster script and Reese is there to spy on him. They are both starting to see each other in different lights. I like this book, they characters are very likeable. I found myself rooting for Cam and Reese, they were written for each other. This is a easy, fast and fun read. I found a new author to read, I highly recommend this book.

Screenwriter Cameron "Cam" Radcliffe has been struggling with writer's block while attempting to plot the sequel to his latest project, a hugely successful action-adventure film. It doesn't help that there's another story idea nagging at him to be written instead, or that he's suddenly distracted by an intense attraction to his longtime best friend, Reese Resnick. All Cam wants is to hide out in his parents' guest house for a few weeks and write, but when he gets there, he finds Reese, who is also his mother's goddaughter, already in residence. Knowing that Cam is struggling to complete his script, though not exactly why, Reese decides that she's going to help him overcome his writer's block by helping him find the fun in writing again. Their romantic feelings for each other intensify as they spend more time working together, but both are afraid to do anything that would risk their friendship or the close bonds between their families. The chemistry between them is too strong to ignore, however.

Reese and Cam were both tremendously likeable, sympathetic characters. I loved their flirty, witty banter and the slow burn as they gradually transitioned from friends to lovers. I also enjoyed their silly competitions and the unique ways Reese tried to inspire Cam's writing, many of which had me laughing out loud. (My favorite was the toy cars!) Cam's brothers, Nash and Gael, were a ton of fun too; they frequently teased both Cam and Reese, but it was easy to see how much they all cared about each other.

Overall, I adored "Written for You" and highly recommend it for all fans of contemporary romance and romantic comedy. I hope there will be future books featuring some of the secondary characters, including Cam's brothers and Sheriff Colt.

This book was sooooo good and had me hooked from the very beginning! It was such a cute/sweet friends to lovers romance and the characters were absolutely amazing! I will say that the one thing I didn't enjoy about this book was the addition of the screenplays. To me, it just seemed to take away from the book.

Written For You follows Cam and Reese, childhood best friends who grew up together, both adopted after their parents’ tragic deaths. Back in their hometown on vacation, the pair bonds over work as Reese tries to help Cam find inspiration for his next screenplay. Their connection grows, and the two best friends find themselves in their own romcom as long hidden feelings come to the surface.

Honestly, this was just okay for me. The small town vibes of Rustic Creek were cozy and alluring, and I liked hearing about Cam and Reese’s found family, especially their long standing relationship with Cam’s two brothers.

As far as the romantic plot goes, it was just pretty predictable and meh. From the beginning I knew exactly what was going to happen, and aside from a couple quick, steamy scenes, I was pretty bored.

If you connect with the characters, I think you’ll find this to be a cute friends-to-lovers romance. Nothing wrong with it, it just didn’t captivate me in the way I thought it might.

Cam and Reese’s friends-to-lovers romance in Written for You by Robin Bielman is a wonderful, heartwarming, sweet, emotional, and enjoyable story. Cam and Reese have been best friends since they were children, but things between them are changing and they see each other in a different light. Reluctant to give in to their feelings at first, they are soon falling for each other, but things don't run smoothly. This is the perfect rom-com story that will have you relating to their feelings and frustrations, as well as enjoying the laugh-out-loud scenes. Cam and Reese, best friends, fear a romance will ruin their friendship if things don’t work out, but soon realize the chemistry they share is strong and difficult to resist. I loved the entire Radcliffe family; especially the closeness the boys shared. I also want to visit the wonderful town of Rustic Creek.

Ms. Bielman wrote an emotional, sweet, wonderful and heartwarming story that should definitely not be missed. She provided a tale that sizzled with magnetism, off the charts chemistry, witty banter, and memorable characters keeping me flipping the pages of this best-friends romance. I totally enjoyed and highly recommend Written for You to other readers and I can’t wait to read more about Cam’s brothers.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Friends-to-lovers is one of my favourite tropes, so when I read the description for Robyn Bielman's new book Written For You, I knew I'm in for a treat! If you're looking for a perfect summer read (it's not too late!), consider this sweet and sexy story.

Reese Resnick and Cam Radcliff have known each other since they were kids. Their adoptive moms are best friends. In fact, Cam's mom Pixie is Reese's godmother. Needless to say, they know each other very well. Reese knows how lovely and considerate Cam is and how hard he has been working tobuild his career of a scriptwriter. His latest action movie was a huge success. Now he is on a tight deadline to produce something equally engaing, but all this pressure is blocking his creativity. Perhaps, it will be easier to write at home surrounded by his loving parents and his brothers? Cam knows that Reeese has changed a lot of jobs over the years, unable to find the career that would be both enjoyable and stimulating at the same time. She's been working for a talent agency for the last three months, reading script submissions. While Cam may have her doubts whether she is going to stick with this job as well, Reese is convinced she has finally discovered her real vocation. When Cam's aggressive agent approaches and bullies her into spying on Cam's progress with the script, he does it by threatening to get her fired from her dream job. Reese is always welcome to stay at her godmother's house is going to make sure Cam writes the best script of his life and she is going to help him.

There's so much at stake and I don't mean just their jobs, but also the life-long friendship and their easy-going family dynamics, so only very strong attraction and 'blazing' chemistry can force the two protagonists to risk everything and finally change the nature of their relationship. Reese is a sweet, fun-loving girl and deep down she knows what her heart wants. Cam is a writer who is a bit slow to recognise how perfect their own story is. Luckily, his adoptive brothers Nash and Gael are there to tease and nudge him in the right direction. Reese and Cam worry about their parents discovering their budding romance, but, in reality, it has always been obvious to everyone that they were made for each other.

The story is set in a small town of Rustic Creek and I loved all the adventures and fun moments Reese and Cam get up to on their mission to help Cam produce his masterpiece. My favourite has got to be the library prank, but there were lots of others. If you are a fan of the small town setting, you'll love Rustic Creek.

Lovely romcom recommended to anyone who loves enjoys the friends-to-lovers trope!

Unfortunately, this book did not get off to a great start for me. The secret hinted at the synopsis is....really, really terrible. To the point where I immediately lost *literally* all respect for the heroine. The minute she decided to put her career above the friendship with the hero, the career he helped her get, I was utterly disgusted. Had I known going in that this was the secret she would be keeping from him, I never would have requested it. People who put career over friendship/family really bother me.

Clearly I am in the minority, this book has a resounding YES from other reviewers. But here's the thing - I don't want to read further after 20% in. It just gets more and more cringey as everything she does that makes him happy has an ulterior motive. The entire time she claims to be trying to help him, she is really spying on him in the name of saving their jobs. Here's a thought - why couldn't she tell him what his agent asked her to do? If they're such good friends, why is that so hard? She has bounced around from job to job, and now that she has a job she finally enjoys, she can't stand to lose it. It's not the loss of his job that concerns her. Even though she keeps telling herself that it is. No, she just cares about herself and losing her job. I just found her behavior appalling, and her clear lack of maturity in handling the matter was off-putting. I get that they're both young but...still, no excuse. It was so heartbreaking reading the scenes where he is so happy to be with her, and the only reason she is there in the first place is to spy on him and not lose her job. She doesn't deserve him.

I have read other books by this author and liked them. But this heroine ruined the book. I didn't feel her reasoning for lying to him made any sense and didn't make her a character I could like. At all. This was DNF and a book that had me reaching for a comfort read immediately.

This book has so much going for it that it’s hard to know where to start. I adored Cam and Reese, while Cam’s family, particularly his brother Nash and his mother Pixie, were wonderful secondary characters. The story itself is a lovely best friends to lovers one with all the conflict of both Cam and Reese worrying about how a romantic relationship between them would affect their family dynamic if it failed.
Author Robyn Bielman did a masterful job of showing the growing attraction between this pair. One of my favourite lines, which I think perfectly demonstrates their love, is this one: “No man had ever kissed her like his next breath depended on it. Her runaway heart wanted more.” The dialogue between these two, and the racy throw-away lines from Nash really sparkled and helped to set the tone for each scene.
The secondary story around Cam’s writer’s block and the pressure he faced to complete a screenplay by a looming deadline helped to carry the story, with frequent texts from his agent ramping up the tension every time they arrived. Overall, I just loved Written For You. It’s light, flirty and a terrific mix of emotion and humour, which means this story will be finding a place on my keeper shelf.

This is a new author for me and I was completely pulled in to Cam and Reese’s amazing friends to lover’s romance. Cam and Reese truly meet through fate and chance. Both lost their parents young and ended up being adopted by women who are best friend’s which brought together often allowing them to build a wonderful friendship even though they lived in different towns. Now as adults, they both live in LA as Cam pursues his dream to be a screenwriter and Reese works on figuring out what her true passion is. For the summer, they end up in Cam’s hometown and the feelings they have both suppressed refuses to be ignored however they are both afraid of breaking the incredible friendship that they have or how it will impact their families. Cam is struggling with writer’s block which Reese ends up being the cure for. Reese has found a job she loves but has been put in a challenging position that involves Cam. I loved the back and forth, slow build, hesitation that they both had even though their hearts kept pushing them to acknowledge their love. It felt real and honest, following our emotions has so many hurdles that can either be amazing or devastating. The entire family dynamic was fun and comforting as I cheered them on to their own happily ever after. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Written for You is a heartwarming friends-to-lovers romance I couldn't put down. It's been a while since Robin Bielman released a new book and I knew from looking at the cover that Written for You would be an instant classic. Robin Bielman has a true gift for writing romance and this one is one of the best she's written.

This is about two friends who have amazing chemistry trying to resist each other until they can no longer deny their feelings. Sure, there are secrets to be told and they need to work through their issues before they can have their happily ever after. I can't tell you how much I loved Cam and Reece. There are so many feelings between the two, it made my heart swell. The conflict is there but it's so well done, I applaud the author.

If you love romantic comedies between two best friends, pick up Written for You. If you're a romance reader, you'll want to read this one. If friends-to-lovers romance is your reading jam, you'll adore Written for You. Highly recommend!

Cam and Reese are two people who you will be rooting for to find their way together. Cam is a screenwriter who is on a deadline. Reese is his best friend, but also the person who is sent to keep tabs on him. Throughout the book they find their feelings for each other changing but they are both hesitant to ruin their friendship if things don’t work out.

This was such a believable storyline that I could envision people in my life going through this. Not only were they best friends, but they have a lot of similarities in their childhoods. Their pasts were actually quite sad. Told from both points of view you get a clear picture of what is holding each of them back

I really enjoyed this story of friends realizing they want more and figuring out a way to have it all. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys seeing true love win out, and the twist near the end was great. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.

Whenever I read a book by Robin Bielman, it always puts a smile on my face. Written for You was such a sweet and fun friends-to-lovers read. I loved Reese and Cam!

The friendship between them was very special and it was great to read the progression of their relationship into something more. The fun they had together, the support they gave each other and their friendly competitions were great. The chemistry couldn’t be denied between these two.

I loved the secondary characters too! I really hope we get stories for Cam’s brothers!

I was drawn to this one because of the film writer Cam. He finds himself going in a different direction then he should be going or needs to be going thanks to a distraction. His best friend Reese is that for him but it seems all of a sudden feelings have heightened. Sometimes I think it is usually there but in denial. Also one of my favorite ingredients is secrets and Reese has one. Turn the pages on this one that keeps you second guessing what they will do.

What a great friends-to-lovers story! Cam and Reese have been friends for years, almost like family, really. So imagine their surprise when they each start looking at each other in a very un-family like way!
The burn was slow but the journey was filled with sweet and funny moments, while our couple’s extended families added even more flavor to their history and, hopefully, their future. I really enjoyed it!

Cam is supposed to be writing the follow up to his blockbuster screenplay but just can’t seem to get the words to come. His best friend, Reese, has been like a member of the family forever and so when she is at his parents’ house it should be like old times. Until suddenly, all Cam can think about is kissing Reese! What happens if he tries something and she doesn’t feel the same? I loved the way Robin brings the two characters together!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️4.5 oh so sweet stars
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I love best friends to lovers romance. Add in a touch of small town, and I was in my element. Reese grew up with the Radcliffe family. Her mum was best friends with Cam’s mum, and Cam and his 2 brothers, Gael and Nash, are practically family. So it’s a surprise for both Cam and Reese when they start feeling something other than friendship towards each other. A little added drama with Cam struggling to write his next big blockbuster, can Reese help get rid of his writer’s block? There’s lots of harmless ribbing and banter from Gael and Nash (they were so much fun), and it all makes for a totally enjoyable read. Wonderful characters all round, I enjoyed each and every page. I received an advanced copy from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Robin Bielman is a new-to-me author, but I’m always willing to give someone a try. I’ve found some of my top favorite authors by being open to authors I’ve never read before. Written for You is an opposites-attract, friends-to-lovers, small-town rom-com. If you’re not a fan of a slow-burn buildup, you probably won’t love this story.

Cam and Reese have been BFFs for years. Their families have been super tight-knit pretty much their entire lives, and even though Reese is close to all three Radcliffe siblings, she and Cam have always had the most inseparable relationship of all of them. While no one is surprised when these two finally give in to their quickly growing attraction, everyone is a bit prickly about it because of what it could do to both families if it doesn’t end well. Except for Mrs. Radcliffe, and she’s the most perfect godmother ever! I totally loved her and want her in my own life!

I’m a huge fan of the saying that family isn’t always blood, and Cam and Reese’s families absolutely embody this sentiment. I truly enjoyed the Radcliffe family dynamic as well as the dynamic between both families. All in all, this is a sweet, feel-good romance that isn’t too heavy on angst. There are some challenges, but nothing I’d consider genuinely angsty. The secondary characters of Cam’s brothers were quite intriguing, and I do hope we get their stories one day, as well.

NICUnurse’s Rating: I give Written for You by Robin Bielman 4 out of 5 stars!

Robin Bielman always delivers likable characters who have been friends for years but suddenly discover their feelings run deeper. Written For You is exactly that kind of character driven story with Cam Radcliffe and best friend Reese. They are adorable. The hope of more with the fear of losing a wonderful friendship is only part of this story. Their humor, work, along with the writer’s block make this as great any romcom that Cam could possibly write. In fact, Ms. Bielman has done it for him with Written For You. Who needs another action film anyway?

Characters that you will want to see more of in a story that is funny and serious, sweet and sexy, Written For You is the perfect summer beach read. Really a great anytime read.

There are many things I liked about this story, but there are also things I didn't like much. Especially, the first 25% was kind of boring. I almost stopped reading many times. Anyhow, with effort I continued. And the story picked up and I started liking the characters. After that, it went smoothly. I enjoyed the whole friends-to-lovers premise. Overall, it's a sweet romantic story. I think it's better for people who enjoy slow buildup. I prefer fast paced stories. Probably why I didn't enjoy it as much as I had hoped.
