Pray More is an underwhelming devotional that delivers small nuggets of encouragement but fails to inspire readers to enhance their prayer lives. Compiled of short, to the point, writings by the Barbour staff, there is a glint of wisdom to be found in each entry; however, between the strange Bible translations (why can’t people use entire verses rather than chopping it up) and shallow explanations, I found that this devotional lacked depth. While I’m sure these quick 2-minute reads will be a light to some, it just wasn’t for me.

I read a couple daily devotionals each day, and this one will now be one of them. The messages are thoughtful, uplifting and encouraging. It's the perfect way to begin each day. I really like that the scripture that is referenced, is written out right there. No need to find it in the Bible. This book will be part of my morning routine.
