The novel primarily follows 3 POV’s. 2 daughters & the young girlfriend of a heart surgeon. All the events are leading up to the wedding, in which an incident occurs. Randomly throughout the book is a wedding scene at the end of the chapter, which I thought was a little confusing and jarring. I kept wishing the wedding scenes were their own chapter. Each of the 2 daughters and the girlfriend have some troubles in their past & all determine how they respond to situations in the book. Unfortunately, I didn’t find this book to be very twisty & had it figured out pretty early in. However, it was a very addictive & quick read & I wanted to know what was going to happen!

This was my first Sally Hepworth book and I will be reading more. Liked the characters and the storyline. Great food descriptions as well. Family dynamics were portrayed realistically.

I have really enjoyed the author’s previous books, so was quite thrilled to get an early look at the next, “The Younger Wife”. It’s not really a psych thriller - more of a domestic suspense type, but I very much enjoyed this tale of the inter-dynamics of the Ashton family. Damaged sisters Rachel & Tully must grapple with their father, Stephen’s, upcoming nuptials to the “Young Wife” Heather, all whilst still dealing with their demented mother, and their own issues too. But nothing is simple and several twists and turns will occur on the journey to the altar! Highly recommend - it's quite hard to put down! My most sincere thanks to the author, publisher and Net Galley for the complimentary DRC, which did not affect my review.

‘The Younger Wife’ was my first Sally Hepworth book. Her characters were very well developed and quite relatable. I must say that the ending to this book was not predictable at all. I highly recommend picking up a copy of ‘The Younger Wife’. I look forward to reading one of Ms. Hepworth’s other books.

The Younger Wife, the latest novel by Sally Hepworth, was a twisted mind F. Holy cow, what did I read?!? The story has a similar tone to Behind Closed Doors by BA Paris or even Verity by Colleen Hoover. The psychological thriller will keep you guessing. While the cast of characters shift from likable to unlikable and everything in between, these flawed family members, with dark and sometimes unthinkable pasts, was utterly addictive. The ending was unexpected and keeps you guessing until the final pages. A great read.

Sally Hepworth has done it again! This author ratchets up the suspense in this domestic thriller from the very beginning and never lets go. The opening scene is the wedding where something awful took place. The story backtracks as we learn about all the members of the family. Good character development as we find out the details leading up to this day as the author tells the story through each of their voices. Lots of twists and turns to propel the story along. Loved it! #TheYoungerWife #SallyHepworth #NetGalley

I was excited to read this book as I have enjoyed many others by this author. This book was just ok for me. There was a lot going on with each of the characters and I feel it was all unpacked in a quick fashion. The ending left me wanting something different as well. Three solid stars.

I have loved every book I've read by Sally Hepworth, but I gotta say, I was most excited to read THE YOUNGER WIFE because I won Sally's giveaway last year to have one of the main characters have MY NAME! 😱🤩 So...the "younger wife" in this book, is named Heather Wisher! 😂 Thank you Sally Hepworth for this….I will definitely be proud to have this one on my shelf. This is special to me!

This book was excellent, as always!! I love Hepworths story telling and writing! She has this way of really making these stories so real, and suspenseful. Bit by bit, secrets are exposed. Loved it!

Rachel and Tully Astons father Stephen, is marrying a younger woman, Heather. In fact, younger than them. He is still married to their mother, who has dementia and is being put into a facility, and he is planning to divorce her.

Each character in this book has their own issues that you will read about. Rachel hasn't dated since she was 16, and has an obsession with baking. What could be the reason that she hasn't wanted to date in 20 yrs?!

Tully and her family are losing their home because of a bad investment, and Tully has a secret herself that even get husband doesn't know, and she will need help.

Heather has a past that she doesn't want anyone to know about. What exactly is the reason Heather wants to marry Stephen? Is it his money?? And even Stephen has his secrets! 🤯

🔥Guys, this was such a page turner, not to be missed. I know it's not out until April, but you'll want to add this to your list. I'll definitely remind you on pub day!

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the gifted copy. All opinions are my own!

Sally Hepworth has done it again! I loved reading The Good Sister and was thrilled to receive an ARC copy of The Younger Wife from Net Galley.

Sally beautifully narrates the story from multiple characters perspectives. We hear from sisters, Rachel and Tully. Their father’s younger fiancé, Heather and a mysterious wedding guest also shares their perspective of a tragedy that takes place.

How can their father be dating a younger woman and plan to marry her when he is still married to their mother who is suffering from early dementia? Is fiancé, Heather, a gold-digger or truly in love with Stephen? How will these sisters navigate this family drama?

Each woman shares their struggles from the past and how they cope today. Everything is not as it seems and I found myself rooting for the women in this story.

Interesting reveals and twists in the plot make this book hard to put down. You’ll be invested in each characters’ story and the mysteries that unfold throughout. I highly recommend you add this book to your TBR list this spring. The Younger Wife will be released in early April 2022.

A man with 2 grown daughters and with a wife with dementia in a nursing home, is marrying the designer he hired to renovate his house. The daughters are concerned about their mother, who also had worked with the designer before she got sick.

I am unfortunately very disappointed in Sally’s latest novel. I honestly can’t believe a woman wrote this story. The big problem here is that there are multiple mentions/speculations of abuse on women, and by the end of the story the author paints those characters to possibly be “lunatics” or “crazy” (words actually used in the book), possibly imagining the abuse, and leaves the reader completely and utterly confused by the ending. This story is about a man possibly ABUSING women those women feel they are imagining it because of their past trauma, even though they are seeing and experiencing events which are described in the story. The story ends and does not confirm that the women were right in their convictions and experiences. How on earth did the author and editors not see the issue with this storyline!? In a time where we need to keep advocating “believe women” this book’s message does the opposite. Please please fix the ending and do not release it as is for the sake of women and victims of assault. Currently this is a one star from me. I am happy to review it again with a revised ending.

This book hooked me after only a few chapters and I couldn’t put it down until I knew what happened. The family secrets, the way that each little bit of information was parceled out, all culminating in an ending that I truly never once saw coming: it all was amazing. My first book by Sally Hepworth but I definitely will read more, as this was a suspenseful family drama that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time I read it.

This was my third book by Sally Hepworth, and it did not disappoint. At a time when many books fail to deliver on their promise, The Younger Wife grabbed my attention early on and didn’t let go.

Someone has been injured, possibly worse, and there are several possibilities for both the victim and the perpetrator. As the story shifts from character to character, the reader comes to know and care about several of them. But anything is possible, for how well can we really know anyone or what they are capable of?

Right up to the end, this book will keep you pondering who harmed whom and why and—more importantly—was it justified?.

The Younger Wife is completely binge-worthy. With its dynamic plot, this twisty domestic thriller explores one family's secrets, lies, and compulsions.

Told from multiple points of view—Tully's, Rachel's, Heather's, and another important character (no spoilers)—the writing is enthralling and addictive. With its layered and complex characters, The Younger Wife is perfectly paced and expertly plotted. Hepworth employs her opening hook as the scene that unfolds at various points in the story.

With an ending that will completely blindside the reader, this is Sally Hepworth at her best. And do yourself a favour and be sure to read the Author's Note.

Very good story. I liked how the different points of views developed the story, but was disappointed we never got any of the men’s points of view. The story came together nicely & the true ending was totally unexpected. Would definitely recommend when it’s released.

Sigh. I loved this book and planned on giving it five stars.....until the last 10% of it. What a senseless death. I was so disappointed!

Excellent book. Family drama that I love. Characters real.

Thanks to author, publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book. While I got the book for free, it had no bearing on the rating I gave it.
