This was such an anticipated read for me, and boy did it deliver! Elle Cosimano has brought back our female main character Finlay Donovan and she is just as entertaining, smart, capable and flawed. I loved following another one of her twisty contract killer mishaps! I am a Finlay Donovan and Elle Cosimano fan for life.

Thank you to Minotaur Books and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Finlay and Vero, the dynamic duo, are back at it again! This sequel is a fun mystery with a lot of twists and turns and some added in romance. I love in this book that we got to get deeper into knowing the characters we met in the first book, particularly the mysterious Vero. I still have a lot of questions about her history though. I’m already looking forward to the 3rd book. This series is quickly becoming one of my favorites! If you like enjoyable, witty, easy reads, the Finlay Donovan series is for you!

Another incredibly enjoyable book following the antics of Finlay and Vero! I love the mix of mystery, hijinks, and humor in these books. I will say, this one didn't quite live up to my expectations from the first book and it fell a bit flat. I found that there was way too much going on in the end that I was left confused.

Regardless, this series is truly a treasure and I hope for more adventures!

Finlay Donovan is a novelist that writes mysteries with a bit of romance. Her chaotic life plays out like her books. When Finlay and her nanny/best friend Vero stumble across a women's forum with a post wanting her ex-husband Steven taken care of, they quickly take things into their own hands. Finlay and Vero try to figure out who the poster called FedUp is using ALL their resources, including breaking into places and stalking Steven. At the same time, Finlay is also juggling the men in her love life.

You definitely have to go into this book knowing it has some humor to it since you will be rolling your eyes at some of the dumb shit Finlay and Vero do, but that's what makes it a fun book to read. If you haven't read the first book in the series, I would definitely recommend starting with #1 since there are recurring characters in this book. It will also give you a better sense for who Finlay is and where she is coming from (hint - she takes real life craziness and puts it into her novels).

Finlay Donovan is at it again - hilarious hiccups and all.

This is the second book in the Finlay Donovan series and it's as fun of a read as the first one. She discovers someone wants her ex-husband dead (surprisingly, not her, although would we really blame her?) and she's got to find the culprit before they find him first.

The only part of the book that makes my eyebrow raise is the babysitter/nanny/partner in crime. She's gotta be up to no good that even Finlay doesn't realize. However, her sketchy behavior certainly sets the scene for another Finlay book (which we really really want, Elle!)

Completely enjoyed this quick, easy, and hilarious read.

A solid sequel. Though not quite as fun as the first one this was still an entertaining read worth you time.

Newly divorced, single-mother, accidental hitman, Finlay Donovan is at it again! With her live-in nanny/partner-in-crime, Vero, they stumble into the seedy world of black market women's forums masquerading sinister requests from drugs to new marks--and someone has requested a hit on Fin's husband. Now, Vero and Fin must stop whoever it is that wants Steven dead while balancing their own secrets.
The second novel written in 1st person from Fin's POV, this is a follow-up to the events in "Finlay Donovan is Killing It". Elle Cosimano writes a hilarious narrative wrought with accidental hijinks, costumes, and misunderstandings that send Fin in a downward spiral of accidental crimes. I like how the friendship between Vero and Fin develops and I can't wait to see if another book is in the works JUST so I could read more about secretive Vero. This is definitely an entertaining read that--for some of the situations--require some suspension of disbelief.

The second book in the Findlay Donovan series was a twisty fun mystery that I enjoyed unraveling. All of the endearing characters I had fun learning about in the first book are back in a connected plot and embarking on more zany adventures. Lest this book be taken merely for fun, embedded between plot points are heartwarming examples of friendship, love, and loyalty which give this sneaky mystery extra depth and thoughtfulness. Findlay Donovan is Killing It was a perfect read for this between Thanksgiving and Christmas time of year as it mirrors those same holidays as its bookends. I’m curious to see what Findlay and friends are up to in their next adventure.

The Finlay Donovan series is quickly becoming a fast favorite. While the first book was laugh out loud funny, this one was a little less so, but equally as over the top with the storyline. Finlay comes across a post online that indicates someone wants to have her ex-husband killed. This starts the crazy antics once again as Finlay tries to figure out who is behind the post while still trying to figure out the plot of her next novel. Lucky for her that her life serves as the inspiration for the new plot. There are new dead bodies, a mob boss behind bars, disguises, expensive cars, computer hacking, and some more of a love triangle between the law student and the hot cop. Finlay continues to find herself in unexpected situations, and always has a creative solution ready to keep herself out of trouble. The short chapters made for a quick read, and the author provided plenty of twists and turns, including a surprise at the end that I didn't see coming. I can't wait to see what's next for Finlay, and I hope it includes more of the hot cop too.

This one was a smidge more far-fetched than the first, but it fit with the mood that I was in. Cosimano definitely set it up for a third book which I will definitely be picking up.

I received an electronic copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Finlay Donovan is at it again! In the upcoming new release Finlay Donovan Knocks 'Em Dead author Elle Cosimano picks up right where her fist book in the series, Finlay Donovan Is Killing It, left off. All of our favorite characters are back and once again Finlay has found herself in over her head as she tries to stop a killer who has sights on her ex-husband Steven. I enjoyed this one as much as the first but you really must read these without taking them too seriously or it will take all the fun out of it. If you're in the mood for a hilarious, over the top whodunit then I highly recommend this Finlay series!

I finished this book. This seems like a writer using her life and hijinks to write a book. I liked the cop and lawyer in the book. I liked that this was a 2nd book and trying to solve the mystery of the hit against her ex husband. I loved her friend the accountant and hacker friend. Great book .

😎 Finlay and Vero are back!!! 😎

FINLAY DONOVAN KNOCKS EM DEAD, by @ellecosimano, is the sequel to Finlay Donovan is Killing It.

And it was awesome.

I literally just finished it, and would not allow myself to relieve my very full bladder or my very empty stomach because I could NOT STOP READING.

Finlay and Vero are - AGAIN - funny, feisty, and unforgettable in this organized-crime-meets-suburbia cozy mystery sequel. (Full disclosure: it’s a bit edgier than a traditional cozy mystery, but still has that delightful escapist fiction element!)

Finlay and Vero learn that there’s a hit out for Finlay’s ex-husband, Stephen. And they can’t go to the police, or all their shenanigans from the first book will be discovered. And Stephen may be a schmuck, but he’s also Finlay’s kids’ father, so she and Vero have to stop the hit before it’s too late.

I loved it. 🌟🌟🌟🌟💫/5!

Yes!! I am so glad I loved this one just as much as the first! Finlay is great and I absolutely love the humor throughout both books. And I'm definitely ready for the third already!!

So glad to be back in Finlay’s crazy world! 😂😂😂
I really enjoy that this isn’t a HEA story and Finlay isn’t choosing her love right away.
Absolutely loved the twist of Finlay’s mom in the chat room. That may have ended up being my favorite part. 😂
Can’t wait to see what happens next in the series!

I'm recommending this book with a major caveat. For a more enjoyable reading experience, you should read the first book in the series before picking up this one. Most mystery series books can be read out of sequence because the authors do a great job of including just the right amount of backstory, keeping the reader from feeling lost. That isn't the case with this series. Although the author drops some hints here and there about the events of the first book, too much about both characters and plot are left unexplained with the author expecting the reader to know what she was referencing. It made for a confusing read. Also, mystery readers expect to learn whodunit at the end of the book, and this book leaves us guessing and having to wait for the next book in the series. I don't mind a few unresolved plot lines that make me want to read the next book, but I was really annoyed that the main mystery--the murder--went unsolved at the end.

Thanks to NetGalley for my gifted copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion and review.
Finlay Donovan Knocks ‘Em Dead is the second book in the series. This adventure has the same hijinks as the first but takes the story to deeper level now that you have some schema for the characters. You’ve got to love Finlay and Vero as partners in crime, the dynamic duo whose amateur sleuthing and shenanigans continue to entertain. The cliff hanger at the end will definitely bring me back for yet another adventure in the 3rd installment. Cute, fun, and light. You’ll enjoy Finlay, Vero, and the rest of the gang.

3.5 stars. I was eagerly anticipating this second in series, but it just didn't hook me like the first one did. I wasn't thrilled with the more overtly racy scenes, and it lacked a bit of the fun/family factor I enjoyed in the first. I do think the author has a delightful writing voice, though, and a great sense of humor. I enjoyed the twist at the end, as well.

A funny sequel to the first book, you should read this if you liked the first one. Fast, humorous and murdery

Finlay Donovan Knocks 'Em Dead (Finlay Donovan#2) - Elle Cosimano

A follow-up novel to the hilarious Finlay Donovan is Killing It, and I was really looking forward to read what kind of shenanigans Finlay and Vero were going to get themselves into next. Finlay continues to balance work, dating, and her children but when someone wants her ex-husband Steve dead, they try to track down who has a hit for him.

The sequel did not disappoint, with laugh out loud, outrageous moments, but I agree with my pal and reading buddy @mybooksandkidsbooks that the ending could have been so much more. Both of us managed to read this in a quick 2-3 days which is always a sign of a good book.

I am definitely looking forward to book 3!
