Thank you to NetGalley and Europe Comics for a free advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Content warning for the book: decapitation with cartoon blood.

The Extraordinary Part was an interesting exploration of justice, morality, and humanity's relationship with nature. The paneling throughout is not remarkable, but its uniformity adds to the tone of the story—the characters are accustomed to living alongside the mysterious whols, and the whols are just another part of the landscape, for the most part.

Because the review copy I received was low-res, the thin lettering was often difficult to read, but it seems like this will not be the case for the final, higher-res copies.

I enjoyed The Extraordinary Part, and I'm interested in reading the next installment.

*2.25 stars*

While the art was great and the description was interesting the actual plot was lacking. The ebook copy was almost Illegible due to how pixilated the words were but even what could be read wasn't very good.
Overall: the art was nice and concept was cool but overall it was lacking. If they fix the ebook I'll gladly reread it to see if that was the issue but overall it was disappointing.

Reasons I disliked this book:
-The plot was too fast paced to properly get introduced to the characters or the world
- the writing was hard to read and sometimes couldn't even be read

Reason's i liked this book:
-pretty art
-cool concept

The description of this books sounded really interesting so I wanted to give it a read. The art style was really colourful and pretty and I really liked the illustrations of the whols.
This was an average graphic novel story. The speech balloons were a little too hard to read which influenced the story badly as it sometimes became almost illegible. The plot itself was really slow and some of the characters didn't get any development at all.
Unfortunately I don't think I'll continue with the series.

I'm not sure what to think about this book?
Firstly I loved the drawings especially the colours used in the book, which were very vibrant and beautifully chosen, particularly for the whols. Talking about the whols: i really liked them! I would have loved learning more about them but I guess they're a mystery for the characters of the book as well.
Secondly, the characters; I think they were all pretty interesting but maybe not well enough developed, I would have liked to delve more into their personalities, but since the story is plot-based this is an understandable choice.
Thirdly, I found the plot well done, a mystery mutation and some weird bank-robbing mutant gang is always a good premise for a book in my opinion. But I think the book focused too much on the relationship between the characters than on a the plot, which is not bad but made the plot quite slow, and by the end of the book we do not know a whole lot more than in the beginning.
All in all, I'm not sure if I'd like to read the following books, perhaps if the plot becomes more fast-paced. But it was a good book nonetheless.
