The target audience of this book is definitely not people my age; but as a lover of children's fiction I find this book to be adorable. I truly would have enjoyed this as a kid since I was OBSESSED with fairies.
The story is cute and well plotted - so much happens for the book to be barely 60 pages. Despite the shortness, the story did not feel rushed and the characters are all well sketched. Both figuratively and literally. In fact, I enjoyed the vibrant art style because it added to the magic of the story.

While Elina's grandmother was in hospital, She shares a secret with her granddaughter that she's a keeper of Little Folks. Folks Who Save the nature. Grandma passes the role to Elina and now she is the new keeper. But soon Elina finds out a Naiads mysteriously went missing from bird lake. And It's her duty to find her. Later, She gets to know a creature called Drac kidnapped naiad, Drac is a creature who can transform himself into anything..
As a new protector of the folks Elina needs to bring her back.

I really liked this story, Especially the artworks. They were so vibrant and catchy. The first few round was a bit slow but the last chapters were so fascinating. Definitely gonna tell this story to my little brother as a bedtime tale.

This was so magical I loved it so much. I loved all the characters, the story and the plot. I have to say I loved the art and how the fairies and other characters and creatures were drawn. I highly recommend this to everyone.

I have really mixed reviews about this one. I feel like the illustrations and vocabulary are both beyond the target audience for this book. At the same time, however, I felt the actual story and plot were so so so sooooo juvenile. I wouldn't recommend this for older audiences because the story happens quickly and there isn't a large amount of substance, but I also wouldn't necessarily recommend this for children either because of the vocabulary. It's a tough spot. I was pretty disappointed in this one overall.

This graphic novel was super sweet. The colorful art style pulled you right in, all the character had these beautiful rounded faces and they were very easy to read on. The premise and the plot was very sweet too, a young girl learns from her grandmother (who nobody else believes) that there are fairies and little folk in their world. She learns to see and communicate with then, then helps her new friends to find and rescue a naiad.

Beside that, the characters don't have much personality and the plot seems to easily transition from one point to the next without actually setting some stakes down. The first part where we meet up with the grandmother, then later when we're talking with the little folk, those two felt completely disconnected and like the transition happened a bit too fast for comfort there.

This felt like a very nice middle grade or even younger age graphic novel. So I'm not exactly the target demographic to judge. The magic was very nice and the art was amazing, it is a book I would definitely purchase for my younger cousins and read to them.

Wow, what a cute little comic, I loved the story it reminded me a little bit of The Spiderwick Chronicles with all the different types of fairies and monsters, it was a really enjoyable read.

After her grandmother has an accident, Élina ends up finding out about her secret life, she’s the Keeper of the Little Folks and in charge of taking care of the magical creatures in the forest but with her in the hospital there’s no one to help when of the naiads mysteriously disappear.
Élina then, with the help of a cute fairy Llyam embarks on a magical journey to finding out what’s really happening.

It really was a magical reading, the art had so many little details it was impossible to take everything in, I think I will have to re read lol.

This was a cute story. It kept me intrigued and it was a fast read for me. I loved the artwork and the colors as well. This would be a great read for anyone Teen and beyond.

i honestly think you can never go wrong with fairies, and this just proves my point! i can't wait for the next volume to come out so i can see what mischief élina and the gang get up to.

Colorful and beautiful artwork. Filled with magic, if you like simple and cute stories this one is definitely for you.

The Keeper of the Little Folks is a cute little graphic novel perfect for middle school age kids not too interested in reading. The artwork is beautiful and inclusive.

Thoughts I had while reading:
-Grandfather Oak is so well drawn!
-This would be a perfect video game.
-I can easily see this having a prequel about the grandmother and how she found out about the Little Folks.
-This could also easily be made into a series if it had the interest.

Overall I give this a two out of five stars. I love the concept and the art, but it couldn't keep my attention.

The old woman that is currently a guardian to the little folk is stuck in hospital, and will only come out to go into an old folks' home, if her daughter has anything to say about it. So she makes her granddaughter the new guardian, and just in time, as one of the naiads has been nabbed to become a slave wife. The artwork was OK for a young audience, but needed to be better in indicating scale and character (and action, when it comes), but the biggest problem is how little this does with such familiar elements.

Very pretty art but nothing spectacular or innovative here. A Very basic simple story about a girl who finds out her grandmother takes care of magical creatures, and then she must help them solve a mystery while her grandmother falls ill.

In this lackluster children's graphic novel, Elina discovers the hidden fairy world and helps her new friends rescue a Naiad.

The adorable, beautifully-colored artwork is the biggest highlight of "The Keeper of the Little Folks" and will immediately suck readers in. In particular, the lighting nearly makes the pages glow and adds a magical quality to the drawings. The fairy world itself is built with care and meticulous attention to detail: the parade of diverse creatures, the fairy balm's ingredient list, and Grandfather Oak's riddles make it feel charmingly unique. The characters ' expressive faces satisfactorily convey the emotions of each scene.

Unfortunately, the lovely art is stymied by the mediocre story. The breezy plot moves much too quickly and doesn't have any tension or sense of stakes; the characters simply move from one plot point to the next. Elina is too one-dimensional to be a compelling protagonist and experiences no growth (though an attempt was made). Some of the untraditional panel layouts (such as the weird grid on page 3) make the story a bit hard to follow.

I am not sure for what audience "The Keeper of the Little Folks" is appropriate. The artwork is complex enough to be considered a middle grade title, but middle grade readers will want a more satisfying story. The story is better suited for beginning chapter book readers, but those kids need something sillier and with less cluttered pages. Either way, it faces too much competition in both age categories to really stand out. I would give this to fantasy readers in grade 2-4, but only if I was out of other options.

I have been looking into graphic novels as I love to mix it in with other reading genres. This story had a sweet start and the art style was beautiful! It was easy to stay engaged with the story and I adored the Little Folk!

This is a fun little fantasy story. I really enjoyed the plot and art. Kids that love mythological creatures will definitely enjoy this tale and be excited for the next one.

This was such a cute graphic novel and I loved the artwork and colours! I always love reading stories about people finding out about fairies etc. and this did not disappoint. A comp title for this could be "The Spiderwick Chronicles". Children and middle grade readers would definitely enjoy this graphic novel. It is pretty fast paced so they won't want to stop reading. I loved how the authors added a small section at the end of the book which describes the fairytale creatures in more detail. I can't wait to read the next volume and I really hope things go well for Elina's grandmother.

The Keeper Of The Little Folk is a good comic for kids and you can never have enough fairies! Élina's grandma gets hospitalized and she learns that her grandma is actually the Keeper of the Little Folk. Her mission is to protect the fairies and their secret world and Élina has to help her, when the mysterious Drac kidnaps one of the fairies. I really liked the info boxes at the end of the comic about the creatures and I liked how the whole thing was kept quite simple for younger readers. The plot pace may have been a little too fast though, since it would've been great to get to know the fairies a little more. I don't know if this will be episodic or what, but it depends where Carbone wants to take this.

The art looks great and the colors are lively and bubbling, which makes this look like candy! The comic isn't too childish, so it works for different kinds of readers, which is great. There's grave stuff in it too, but overall the positive approach with the sense of adventure makes this a great read surely, even though it's not out of this world. Perhaps not all needs be? A steady comic either way.

This story follows Elina a child whose grandmother hides a secret but needs help from Elina to ensure that her fairy friends are safe, she is stuck in a hospital and Elina's mother isn't about to let her leave. So, Elina is enlisted and told how to see the fairy realm. From there the adventure truly begins, This had a very cute art style and the characters were all very fun and I think it was a good set up for the series.

I enjoyed the villian and found the way that they beat him super fun. It only gets a three star as it went by a little too fast for me but readers of any age would enjoy this in my opinion.

I love the colorful art. The characters are all likable except for Elina's mom, har har. The book starts a bit slow, but then it builds up to a fantastic adventure filled with fairies, naiads, talking trees, tricksters and more. This is the kind of read that makes you wish magic is real, and that maybe someday the doors of fairy land will open for you, too. Truly enchanting!
