The story is about our little heroine Élina who discoveres that her grandmother is someone really special, actually she is "The Keeper of the Little Folk" but what does that mean? Well, Elina will know soon what it is to be the Keeper because now, her grandmother is ready to pass these responsibilities on to her grandaughter which means that she has to protect the fairies, nymphs, naiads, and all the fantastical creatures! Will Elina be up to this big responsibility and mission?

It was such a cute story with beautiful art that made this simple adventure so fantastic and magical to read. This is the kind of books that I would have been so crazy to own as a kid.

This book transported me back in time when I was a child and obsessed with everything fantasy. While reading I was reminded of Ferngulley and fairy books I read as a child.

The art throughout the whole story was amazing and showed great talent by the illustrator, Charline Forns, in storytelling through images and capturing each little folk personality and niche within the community, though I would have liked to meet more different folk and hope we do in future volumes.

The writing and story told us of the deep connection between Élina and her grandmother, and beautifully showed the faith between a grandmother and granddaughter. However, I do think it fell short when exploring the relationship between the mother and Élina, as well as between the grandmother and the mother as I felt this was glossed over with the mother just “not believing”
The story captivated me, and is sure to do other readers, with the magic system and progression of sending the SOS via flower, as well as the different characters in the form of Llyam, the Drac, the naiads and other fairies we get to know in this volume.

One issue I had was being thrown in with not background, and would of liked explanation of the little folk, their magic, the types and the communities they make together instead of exposition at the end of the volume of what the naiad, drac and natures gardian’s are.

Overall, this was a very fast paced story about faith and love between a grandmother and granddaughter and the magical world that surrounds them, an amazing read for younger readers and young adults as well if you love fairy, mythical creatures and urban fantasy.

THIS BOOK IS ADORABLE - I love the Tinkerbell meets Ferngully vibes. I really loved the graphics and the storytelling flowed very well. I look forward to the next volume to read when it is available

A short and fast paced comic that I think children will enjoy. The art style is very magical and fitting for the book. I would have liked to have had a few more pages of introduction to the story instead of being thrown headfirst, although as this is just the first volume, I expect my questions will be answered in the next ones.

The Keeper of the Little Folks introduces us to Élina, her mother Morgan and grandmother Adelaide, who is recuperating in the hospital with a broken leg. Élina And Adelaide have always had a special bond and during heir visit Adelaide confides that she is the Keeper and protector of all of the Little Folks! An emergency SOS sets Élina off on the adventure of a lifetime as she must step into her grandmothers role and help protect the Little Folks.

I thought this graphic novel was super cute. The art style was beautiful and I loved the color palette of the illustrations - they were very natural in hue which added nicely to the story. The bond between Élina and Adelaide was sweet as well and made me think about the stories my grandmother shared with me when I was a child. I really appreciated the end page that offered more information about the Little Folks we encountered in this graphic novel. The ending was a bit ambiguous and I hope that means there is more to come.

The Keeper of the Little Folk introduces Elena, a young girl visiting her grandmother when she suffers from a broken leg. Little does she know the role which her grandmother plays in the society of the Little Folk, and that she will soon assume her grandmother’s position.

While reading this, I realized how a younger me would have been obsessed with it. Embarking on quests with magical creatures, having access to a potion that allows you to see another world, becoming the protector of fairies—This would have been perfect for me! And I'm not altogether embarrassed to say that reading something like this as an adult still hasn’t quite lost its charm. The Keeper of the Little Folk strikes a decent balance between a younger and older age group of readers.

Everything about this graphic novel was very charming. In particular, the illustrations were amazing! That component alone is enough of a reason to give this book a peak. The art style was bright, colorful, and adorable, and served well in delivering distinct characterization for the cast of characters. The plot itself was simplistic and easy to follow and, while it wasn’t anything especially fantastic, I was still entertained throughout the entire novel and couldn’t wait to see what happened next. I would recommend this for anyone searching for an easy, lighthearted read!

While visiting her in the hospital, Élina discovers that her grandmother is the Keeper of the Little Folk, protecting fairies, nymphs, naiads, and other fantastical creatures! And now, her grandmother is ready to pass her responsibilities on to Élina. I think this is enough to get someone excited for such a cute beautiful short story.

The comic has some of the most beautiful art I have seen this year. I am in love with how the Little Folk look like. They are so diverse and beautiful. It made me curious for future instalments in this universe. The story is easy to follow and it is light and cute. I really wanted it to be a bit more longer but that is just because I wanted to find out more about the world.

It is a nice middle grade comic and I highly recommend it. The world has great potential for future instalments.

A wonderfully whimsical tale. The love between grandmother and granddaughter are central to this tale. Faith and belief are secondary.

Do you believe in fairy and the ability to commune with nature? Belief will help you to see the little folks as well as a little balm to "open" your eyes. A one sitting read that will have you longing for more. The art and storyline are amazing.

This was a cute and wholesome graphic novel targeted for teens with beautiful illustrations. It felt a little bit short for me at the end, i would like to know what happened to the grandma if she could stay in her home, it ended very fast.

The art style is beautiful and I had a great time reading this graphic novel. It's probably targeted towards teenagers, but if you like fairies and mythical creatures, you'll enjoy this one for sure.

I would love to stock it but there is a scene with a very slight bit of nudity, not showing much but enough to be not suitable for primary school.

As a reader, this was enchanting and full of the woodland creatures and nature that many young children seek on walks through the woods. Brining to life a tale of a counting Drac who has stolen a young maiden to marry, the creatures need help from the Keeper. The keeper is Elina’s grandmother, recovering with a broken leg in hospital. Elina must now become keeper in order to communicate with the creatures and the Old Oak.
She and her new friends must work together to save the young maiden and there is enough to lead me to believe there will be a second in this series.
Will certainly keep readers busy in reading the details of the illustrations and following the story.
Fantastically told!

This is the cutest graphic novel!!! I love the story line and the art work of this. Favorite character would be LLYAM he is adorable.

This gave me Spiderwick Chronicle vibes, the set up is really similar in the sense that a young person finds out there is a world they couldn't see before and has to help save it. Though something in my gut said the Spiderwick Chronicles were much darker then this is.

The keeper of the Little Folks is incredibly wholesome and outside of the implication of a woman being forced into marriage, it is not very dark.

This first installment of Elina and the little folk is adorable! The illustrations are stunning and bright with colorful creatures and settings. I particularly love how the little folk are drawn. You can feel the mysticism and magic through the images. The story itself is a tale about the love between a girl and her grandmother, who have bonded over tales of the little folk. Despite being a quick read, this book is a must-read for nature and magic lovers.

I look forward to reading the next book!

Élina goes to meet her granny in the hospital and discovers that the old lady is a keeper of the magic folk. Granny tells her that one of the little faeries is in trouble and Élina should help.
Élina is doubtful in the beginning, but follows her granny’s instructions and is surprised to see the magical folks all around her. Her mother doesn’t believe in mythical creatures, and it’s up to Élina to find the lost one and protect the little folk.
This is the first part of the series and it ends with Élina promising her granny that she’ll stop her mother from sending the old lady into a care home. What will happen to the little folk in her garden with the keeper?
The Keeper of the Little Folk is a fast-paced fantasy story for children. It’s presented in the comics format with loads of illustrations and dialogue bubbles. Some of the illustrations are very good, though some of them felt too sharp for my liking.
The storyline is adventurous and intriguing. Children who like fairytales and magical lands will enjoy this urban fantasy.
Thank you, NetGalley and Europe Comics, for the ARC.
