Before beginning this book, I decided to read the first book, since it was available on Kindle Unlimited. LOVED it so much, the different culture and worldbuilding was fascinating, and the romance was angsty and romantic. The second book wasn't too expensive, so I bought that one and...things began to go downhill. I still liked it, but it was missing the romance of the first book. Almost too much angst, and I didn't feel the same connection between the main characters. I felt the hero was really rude and mean to the heroine, and she wasn't treated well for most of the book. I still enjoyed the story, but it wasn't as romantic as I hoped. So when I started this book, I was super apprehensive but still hopeful. Sadly, that hope didn't last.

One of the main problems I had with this book took me a while to pinpoint. It wasn't super obvious, but as I was reading, I realized what was wrong - there was too much of the male POV and not enough of the female. Almost every sex scene was from his POV, which is not my cup of tea, and I didn't get enough of her emotions in the story. It was all about him, less about her, which was really different from the first two books. It made it difficult to feel connected with both characters, and while I really enjoyed the plot, that lack of connection to the main characters caused the romance to fall flat. It wasn't exciting, the story began to drag, and by the time I reached the end, I was both sad and relieved. This book would absolutely have been at least 4/5 stars if there had been more female POV, but with mainly one POV throughout the book, it dropped it down to 3 stars. And that was for the amazing writing the author did otherwise. Great storyteller, I hope it improves with the next book, because I really enjoy the world she has created.

Warp factor 10 for this intense space drama. Phase Nine racers get started... and go! When Onnika first encounters Chase, her attempts at seduction seem to fail, but her sneaky, underhanded ways show just how devious she is when she robs him blind. Will he be able to put aside this threat to follow what may be the very last race he undertakes? Can she find it in herself to make the changes needed to allow for some trust to grow? Will they survive the deadliness that permeates the racers as they attempt to win the universe's most deadly challenge?

This was a well-written, entertaining book. It was fun, fast-paced, romantic and action packed. I didn't want to put it down. This book can be read as a standalone story, though it is #3 in the Dragon Lords series. I have not read the first two and will be seeking them out. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books in this series as well as other books by this author.

Loved it! Love when I can sit down to read a story and get so into it that I am sad to see it end. Makes me want to go back and reread the Shadow Quest series.

Another piece of Fay’’s sci-fi series, Stealing the Dragon’s Heart gives more mystery, adventure and sizzling scenes to a space race that will leave you wanting more.
The plot is enticing, the characters are unique, sarcastic and relatable, Fay delivers again and you don’t want to miss this one!

Absolutely brilliant, a nice slow burn that flares with excitement and action all the way to the end.

A fabulous addition to this series and definitely my favourite from this author in a long time. This took me back in many ways to The Demons Possession as Onnika and her sister have more than a little connection to the world building there. This does also feature Aiden the Dragon shifter from that series and happily this time he gets to star although I think many will agree that Onnika is without doubt a force of nature ! Aiden might have been reluctant to race again but getting lumbered with two thieving, seductive grifters as well is enough to try his patience. It's ok though Aiden has a plan to offload the females but with Onnika around trust me all bets are off !
This was a fun, passionate romp in space that was simply a hoot to read. I loved the sheer audacity and cheek of Onnika and Aiden made a delicious, growling Alpha hero. Plus the supporting characters frequently made me smile so I'm a very happy reader.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Stealing the Dragon’s Heart by Kiersten Fay gave this reader quite a few WOW moments!
What an excellent coming together of Fantasy Romance and Sci-FI elements which interwoven together created a wonderfully realized tantalizing narrative.
The story began in high gear dramatis and became a full on immersive read, engaging this reader from the onset. Sisters Onnika and Caryn have escaped their captivity as prisoners of brutal pirates taking with them a rare Tranzinite gemstone they’d been forced to help the miscreants find using their magical abilities.
The girls soon end up on Armina Spaceport with the pirates hot on their trail and just as the upcoming Phase Nine universal race is about to begin. This is where Onnika first encounters what will soon be her destiny in Dragon Shifter Aidan Chase, by picking his pockets!
Aidan who grapples with tragedy from his past, Onnika a strong determined female whose persona hides more than it reveals. Together they will set the universe ablaze!
This story is so well written, not allowing the reader a moments respite as page after page brings another exiting revelation, action, adventure and suspense all combined to perfection.
Imaginative world building, great characterizations, prepare yourself to get lost inside one fabulous read.
Highly Recommended!

The Dragon Lord's series is a combination of paranormal romances and sci-fi. You don't have to have read the previous books in the series, but it does help to give a sense of the worlds in which these stories take place. In this third book sisters, Onnika and Caryn are trying to find their way back to their home planet. After escaping the men who have enslaved them they need to find a way to escape and find their way home. With the dangerous phase nine race about to take place, it seems that they have found the perfect way to do this. Onnika just needs to be able to convince the captain, Aidan, that she isn't out to cause him problems and ruin the race.
In many ways this book reminded me of Star Wars, the different aliens meeting together in bars and at markets before they make their way into space. It's not something that I would obviously pick from the description, but it worked really well as a romance. The chemistry between Aidan and Onnika is sizzling from the moment that they meet. I loved following their story and they found their way to one another.
This was a great read and I can't wait for the next in the series. I wonder if we might learn more of Caryn's story next?
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

As a damsel in distress Onnika has abilities that get her out of the situations she lands in. Her journey is full of perils but she manages to survive. The determination she shows is amazing. I loved the ending.

Aidan has been suckered into competing in the Phase Nine race once more. He won this very race once before, but at a great cost. Now he and his ragtag team are about to take part in this dangerous race once more. They just didn't think it would be with two unwanted new crewmates!

Onnika is the epitome of Grifters! She's willing to do anything to keep her sister safe. Their "talents" have been exploited before and they are on the run from the last psychopath who tried to use them for his own ends. But Aidan is going to be a hard one to win over, especially as she picked his pocket earlier in the day before implanting themselves on board as crew.

The crew give off such family vibes, they bicker and bully each other just as siblings do! Aidan and Onnika fairly sizzle and he's soon ensnared by her charms but he's still determined to put her and Carin on the nearest safe world. Snarky comebacks, insta-attraction, off-the-charts chemistry. Brilliant read. Just let go of your troubles and zoom around space with the Dragoon crew!

Lear, Asher and Carin have a very weird potential love-triangle going on in the background and I can't wait to see what that is all about!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me an early review copy of this book!

So when I was emailed an early access link to this book I about happy danced, I can’t lie. The prior book in this series was steamy and magical and I was honestly surprised how much I liked it, and I was happy as a clam to dive right back into the world with this book. And honestly, this book is super different than what I was expecting but not in a bad way. I felt that the second book in the series was a lot more of a fantasy romance, where this one definitely veers more towards sci-fi romance. Both amazing, just if you’re looking for the same feeling as the other two books in the series you might be a bit surprised.

This book basically follows Onnika, a Fae-type alien and her sister as they run from their long time captors who used them for their magic. Their journey leads them to board a ship bound on a famous space race where the games have a tendency to turn deadly. But when the crew meets the sisters, sparks fly between Onnika and the dragon shifter and the stakes rise as their captors close in.

Overall, this was a really fun book. I loved the race aspect and found a lot of the scenes to be really edge of your seat exciting, especially when the author really leaned into the Sci-fi side of things. The dichotomy of the sisters and the crew was really fun, and all the different moving parts and rivalries even between the crew themselves was really enjoyable to be involved in. If you liked books like Cold the Night, Fast the Wolves and the Hunger Games, you’ll like this one I think!

Thank you Net Galley for letting me review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Wow. This book had a lot of excitement with romance and suspense, but plenty of sci-fi as well.

This story was just what I needed to get me out of my book funk. I highly recommend this if you like suspense romance with the perfect amount of sci-fi that’s so believable.

This book had definitely not turned out how I was expecting, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I went into this novel expecting Fantasy & a cliche romance, and instead experienced an incredibly detailed world with exceptionally written scenes that get the adrenaline pumping.

This book was the perfect combination of Sci-fi & Fantasy, with elements from both genres combining seamlessly to create an incredibly action-packed novel - with an added touch of romantic & *spicy* flare. I was unaware this book was part of a series, but I read it without encountering any difficultly or confusion, and I am DEFINITELY picking up the previous three.

The novel also entertained the Found Family trope, and those of you who know me, are definitely aware that I GOBBLE that stuff right up. All in all, this book wasn’t a disappointment in the least. The character dynamic was great, the banter, angst and *forbidden* romance between the two primary characters was drool-worthy, and the action scenes were surprisingly well written. This book was easy to get through and was simply enjoyable to read.

THIS REVIEW WILL BE POSTED ON GOODREADS.

Stealing the Dragon’s Heart is an action-packed, exciting, and swoon-worthy paranormal romance and the fourth book in the Dragon Lords series. The book has an incredible cast of characters, and I love Onnika and Aidan, the protagonists. They are both compelling characters, and they had tremendous growth throughout the story, both as individuals and as a couple. Onnika is funny, impulsive, protective, and smart. She’s a survivor who will do whatever it takes to protect those she loves. She’s disarming and endearing at the same time, and she has a vivacious personality. Aidan is a bit more reserved. Both have secrets and are slow to trust, and both have traumatic pasts that they are still dealing with. Their characters are fleshed out well, and both have great character arcs.

I also love the found family aspect of the story. Aidan and the crew are so fun and funny and comfortable with each other. They are great friends and a strong unit, and there is a trusting, loyal bond that ties them together. The comradery of the crew is one of my favorite aspects of the book, and there are many laugh-out-loud moments with them. Onnika and her sister fit in so well with the group, and it’s wonderful to see two women who have been alone for so long mesh with this fun, loyal, and honorable group of friends.

Of course, my absolute favorite part of the story is the swoon-tastic romance! The relationship between Aidan and Onnika is super sizzling! They don’t meet under the best circumstances, as she stole from him and then snuck onto his ship with her sister, but their chemistry is undeniable from the start. Onnika pushes all of Aidan’s buttons, and she really gets under his skin. He is often torn between wanting her and wanting to get rid of her.

Aidan struggles to trust Onnilka, which is to be expected considering how their relationship began, but he can’t deny the pull he feels toward her. His grief over the loss of his wife and fear of going through that again also holds him back. Onnika, in turn, struggles with her feelings too. She has had a difficult life of betrayal, abuse, captivity, and loss. She and her sister also carry secrets, and Onnika and won’t risk their safety. This creates a lot of angst between Onnika and Aidan as both unsuccessfully fight their feelings, and I loved every chemistry-laden second of it!

On top of the fabulous characters and romance, there’s also an epic space race, which is exciting and dangerous. I found this aspect of the story so interesting and unique, and I couldn’t wait to see what dangers, puzzles, and obstacles Aidan, Onnika, and the rest of the crew would face as their journey progressed. In addition to the race, Onnika and her sister are being chased by some nefarious people throughout the story, and their lives are in mortal danger. This makes the space race even more dangerous and suspenseful and leads to some action-packed, intense scenes.

Though this is the fourth book in the Dragon Lords series, it can be read as a standalone. By reading the series from the start, you definitely get a better feel for the unique universe Fay created, as well as the connections between characters in all four books, but it is not necessary to read all books to enjoy this one. That being said, if you like steamy and captivating paranormal romance, this is a great series! Thanks so much to NetGalley and Kiersten Fay for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

The romance is obviously a big part of this entire story but can we first focus on bIG SPACE RACE? HUMONGOUS SPACE RACE WITH DANGER AND EXCITEMENT. AND THE WORLD BUILDING IS SO INTERESTING. I only wish there was more information about certain aspects of the history hinted in the world building and also to learn more about the different races, and also the motive for the murderers. Anyways, back to the romance which is enemies-to-lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers and back and forth so you know the author is after my own heart. The side romances and characters are also entertaining to read about, probably even more so than the main pairing, and I also wished there was more screen-time for them. The ending felt a little abrupt to me, but most things were wrapped up, so a good read overall.

ARC received for review

This is the fourth book in the Dragon Lord's series.

We first meet Aidan when he was a crew mate on the Marada in The Demon's Possession. Now fast forward and Aidan has won the Phase Nine race before and is running it again to help his planet form bounds with Prince Lear's (who we met his brother's book (Tempting The Dragon King.) Onnika steals from Aidan and then tricks her and her sister's way onto his ship, Dragoon. They join the crew and help in the phases of the race. Along the way Aidan and Onnika hook up and eventually fall in love all the while Onnika is keeping the secret of who her race is.

There's side drama with her sister,Caryn, and Prince Lear and Asher which I'm guessing will finish in the next book. Plus we get to see Vin and Priya (Racing Hearts) again, and Ethan.

Dragons Everywhere!!
Onnika is a spunky outrageous risk taking crazy who will do anytime protect her sister. Even steal from a dragon. Trust doesn’t come easy for her.

“You’re probably right. First rule of interplanetary space travel: Never trust anything unnaturally cute. The cuter they are, the harder they bite.” He sent her a mocking smile. “So that clenches it. I can never trust you.”

Aiden wants her but does not trust her at all. He just wants to win the race and get rid of the little thief that is driving him crazy.

“Look, dragon boy, I like you and all, but for one, you’re hogging all the chicks, and for two, you have to admit this deal isn’t fair to the rest of us.

Humor and adventure all rolled into one.
I love this series and I can’t wait for more dragons.

At the end of the last book when we get a glimpse of the phase 9 race and Aiden I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen! This book is soo good, and I think this is one of my favorite Dragon series..
I really love Onnika and Aiden.. Onnika is brave and loyal.. She is full of sass and sarcasm.. and she will do whatever it takes to keep her and her sister alive.. Aiden is running in the phase 9 race.. but doesn't want to. In fact hes only doing it because he thinks he has to.. When Onnika ends up on his ship, after picking his pocket.. He doesn't trust her at all.... So not a great start to their relationship..
I loved everything about this.. The space race was full of tension, adventure, puzzles.. and through out the journey we get a sizzling romance between Onnika and Aiden.. I also loved all of the side characters.. I hope we get more from them in future books..

I can't wait for more from Kiersten Faye!!
