From Shetland with love at Christmas by Erin Green.
From Shetland with book 2.
Verity is embarking on a better-late-than-never gap year now that her sons have flown the nest, and dreams of turning a lifetime's hobby of knitting and crocheting into a profitable new enterprise at Lerwick Manor's gallery.
A lovely feel good read. Didn't want it to end. Great story and characters. 5*.

I loved this book . It took me a long time to read it but in a strange way I was drawn into the world of Shetland . To be honest not much of a story but I can honestly say that it is a book where you can lose yourself in the characters and actually imagine being with them in Shetland .x

This beautiful book tells the story of three women working in a new craft gallery in Shetland as they prepare for Christmas.

I liked the way the three first person povs were interwoven to construct a relaxing festive tale. Encompassing falling in love, a new start, escaping an abusive first love and learning to run a business. Of the three main characters I think my favourite was Nessie a blacksmith with ever changing coloured hair.

A heartwarming Christmas read.

I do like books that are part of a series, so was pleased to see this book, the second in the From Shetland, With Love. Main characters from the first book are mentioned in this one (lovely to see how their lives have continued since the end of the first book) but this book focusses on three women who are part of the new From Shetland with Love galleries in Ned’s stately home, Lerwick Manor. Each have interesting back-stories and we share their experiences as they each navigate setting up successful businesses and the rocky road of romance.
I enjoyed this second book more than the first, it seemed to flow better and, although the first book was enjoyable, this held my attention more. Perhaps it was the characters, maybe the way it was written, or just the fact it was set at Christmas-time. Either way, I enjoyed reading it in the run-up to Christmas. Definitely a book that can be enjoyed any time, but made more special when snuggled up warm inside during the winter time.
Packed with believable, fully-formed characters and following interesting storylines that capture the reader’s imagination.
I hope there is going to be a third in the series, I will definitely look out for it.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the oppotrunity to read a new-to-me author. I thought this was a quick little Christmas story that was enjoyable. I reallhy enjoyed the setting and the the crafting aspect of the book.

A wonderfully light Christmas read, I really enjoyed reading about all the different crafts that the artists undertook, especially Nessie the Blacksmith and Verity and her knitting. There are lots of loose ends so I suspect another book is forming.

With thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

When Verity needs some space from her family, what better place than the Shetland Isles; to do what makes her happy.
While creating a new life for herself, she meets Isla a nineteen-year-old aspiring baker and Nessie the blacksmith.

Told through the POV of these three characters this novel will take you on a journey of love, growth, friendship and family.

I really related with Verity and felt an understanding towards her and her actions. She was my favourite character.
The scene where Verity is dying wool, I laughed so hard I nearly fell off the exercise bike!! (Yes, I was on an exercise bike while reading this.)

Green gives us unique and realistic characters that every reader can relate to, with some truly heartwarming moments thrown in.

This novel is part of a series, which I hadn't realised, but didn't feel I was missing out on things when I was reading it. However, once finishing I do want to go back and read the first novel (plus more by Green) and have just asked my other half can we go to Shetland for Christmas! 😁🎅🎄🤶

Such a wonderful Christmas read and one I recommend to get you into the festive spirit or simply a read to lift your mood!

This book is written in diary format, and follows the lives of several artists at a newly opened arts and crafts complex. Set on the Scottish island of Shetland, the action takes place at a mansion that was converted to the arts complex. Three women feature as main characters: Nessie, a blacksmith; Isla, a chef; and Verity, a knitware and yarn shop owner. Each woman must deal with her new venture and also with resurfacing issues and people from their pasts. They develop strong friendships as they get to know each other and their arts.

Although this novel seemed off to a slow start, it became more interesting as the story progressed and the characters developed. Romance plays a role in the stories, but there is no overt or graphic sexual content. The focus is more upon the women and their emerging new ventures and growth as individuals. American readers may find some challenges with the dialect, although context clues help the reader decipher the terms. The story takes place over several months, although the title might lead one to believe it is a Christmas story alone.

I received this book from the publisher and from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

A nice, easy Christmas read. I personally don’t enjoy books which jump from one character to another all the time as it doesn’t flow so well. There are several little stories running through which helps to keep you engaged. Most characters are believable.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a free ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily.
I have not read the first book in this series, but this is a successful standalone novel. There are many characters, interlinked by family relationships, which made it a little difficult to remember who was who at times, a family tree at the start of the book may be helpful. The language was a little strong for my taste on occasion as it seemed unnecessary; this was a pity as some of the descriptions were excellent, such as a knitter's appreciation for yarn and the art of glassblowing. The plot centres around the crafters in a newly-converted part of the manor house grounds, each with their own background, unfolding storyline and romantic moments. I loved the book and recommend it as a pleasant, engaging Christmas read.

A sweet and warm read about a set of characters who all work at an arts and craft centre in Shetland.
This was a sweet and uplifting read about a number of characters set out across a number of POV's. There is a background story that connect them all of the opening and running of the centre but the book kind of reads as a set a mini stories involving each of the main characters . flipping back and forth, from story to story and each with a nice happy ending.
A quick and easy read to keep you entertained this winter.

I’ve been finding it hard to write about this book, as there was nothing actually wrong with it, I just unfortunately did not find it to be a particularly engaging read for myself. I loved Verity’s storyline but I’ve never been a huge fan of multiple stories and pov’s so this was something I struggled with. Overall, this was a nice read.

A lovely uplifting tale set in beautiful Shetland. The Gallery is a new arts and craft centre where artisans show

their skills and talents.,

Many artisans, including Verity of The Yarn Barn, Nessie the blacksmith, Isaac the glassblower and Isla from the

cafe have hopes, dreams and business plans.

They are all striving for independence, acceptance and a little romance too. This is such a motivating and happy

read, I enjoyed it very much.

A cute, quick, and easy read for the holiday season. I haven't read the first book in this series, and probably will eventually. I enjoyed all of the characters and loved the inclusion of homemade crafting and the focus on friendship. I did find it somewhat difficult to follow all of the characters' stories and think this could have easily been divided into 3 books. I was most invested in Verity and Magnus' story and felt distracted by Nessie's and Isla's plotlines thrown in. I just think these 2 ladies deserved their own books, with a little more detail added to each. Overall though, this is a light-hearted, enjoyable read to get you in the mood for Christmas!

Lovely story of friendship and love. Great holiday read! Makes you wish you could spend some time shopping at Lerwick Manor.

Warm and funny! A delicious festive tale of disparate characters drawn together on Shetland, in a new enterprise . The new owners of a manor have converted their stable block into a series of small traditional workshops. These have been filled with people carrying out their crafts and forming a close knit company of shared enterprise, friendship and love

From Shetland With Love at Christmas by Erin Green. A NetGalley read and chosen because it’s a Christmas book and because I’d seen the series of these books around. This is the first in the series I had read and I definitely think it can be read as a stand alone book if you are new to this series. There is a variety of characters, the mains ones being Verity, Nessie and Isla. They all obviously live on the Shetland island and each have there own story. Nessie and Isla have grown up on the island and Verity is new to the island and escaping her normal reality. The three woman all end up working together by starting small business at Lerwick Manor. This book started off quite promising, it had a great feel and flow to it however that didn’t last and in actual fact became quite boring and very hard to read. The same can be said for the characters and especially Verity who at the beginning you can can of understand why she wants a break from reality, I think we could all relate to that, however her attitude gets a bit annoying and tiresome and comes across as quite selfish. It’s quite a predictable read, expected to a certain extent in a Christmas book. At some points in the book I was at a loss as to what was happening, the flow for me seem to lose something along the way. Unfortunately some characters seem to lack strength in their individual stories as well as being able to add anything to the overall story, in this respect some characters seem slightly pointless to the story. I hate not liking a book as someone has put there everything Into writing it, however for me this book was so so very hard to read, had I paid for this book I would have been disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend this book and unfortunately in my opinion (it’s my opinion only, because as I’ve always said just because I’ve not liked a book doesn’t mean someone else won’t enjoy it and that’s the great thing about reading) this is one of the worst books I’ve read this year and I probably won’t read anymore in this series. Like I said I think you can read this as a stand alone book and I don’t this is why I don’t enjoy it. Sadly not a great read ☹️
