Thank you to Netgalley and HARLEQUIN - Carina Press for sending me an eARC! Overall, Two Houses is a very sweet romcom, and I loved the way it delved into the art world - something I don't see very often in the books I read. I think Gavin and Priya were very likable characters, but there wasn't as much angst and sexual tension as you'd normally find in an enemies to lovers. This book could have been much stronger if it wasn't immediately obvious (and spelled out) that they didn't actually hate each other, but it's an enjoyable read.

Priya works for her family's auction company in New York, and she would go to any length to show her worth to her CEO father, despite the fact that he obviously prioritizes his son above his daughter. She wants to land a unique collection that will move the firm away from Indian art and into new territory. Gavin, the son of a contender, is likewise interested in this reward pool.
This was a good contemporary romance about two feuding auctioneers who were childhood rivals yet secretly adored each other. There were some amusing and touching moments. I did wish there was a little more angst and sexual tension, but it was still amusing.
I liked the Bollywhood vibe and the art discussion, and I appreciate how both of the major characters are well-developed and come together in the end. In addition, the smut level was fantastic.
Reading this article was a lot of pleasure for me.

I sometimes like to pick totally new authors (to me at least). This book has the enemies-to-lovers trope - which I love!

Priya works for her family's auction house in NY and - even though her CEO father clearly favors his son over his daughter - she will do anything to prove her worth to him. She wants to land a special collection, taking the company out of Indian art only and into a new foray. However, competitor's son Gavin also has his eye on this prize collection. He is her old childhood rival and Priya is determined to beat him.
When they are both invited to stay on the estate of the seller it seems Priya and Gavin have more in common than they think and sparks fly. But will the winning of the prize turn their relationship sour?

At first I really had issue with the fact Priya seemed to just accept her father favoring her brother over her. She worked so very hard! I was happy how it all turned out in the end though. The story has that Indian vibe and I enjoyed it very much.

This year is the year that I discovered that as much as I despise the original Romeo and Juliet I really like "retellings"

Gavin and Priya work for their families' auction houses and they're rivals. They've pretty much grown up in the same circles but there's always been that edge of competition between them.
Being invited to the same house party on account of the same project puts them together under one roof and things between start to change.

I very much enjoyed the Bollywhood atmosphere and the art talk, and I like how both of the main characters are well developed and how they get together in the end. Also, the smut level was soooo good.
I had a really fun time reading this story.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for sending me an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I liked the all the art talk and the Indian culture and family dynamics, even though Priya's dad was a jerk.

It was good to see how Gavin and Priya made it work in the end.

I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

Sexual content and language.

Super cute! And pretty hot too, especially that first scene! I don’t usually love the enemies to lovers trope, but this was pretty well done. They hit upon it pretty early that they maybe didn’t hate each other, and they were pretty funny. Also, I totally need a dog so I can name him Leonardo Dog Vinci! The writing was witty, the naught stuff hot, and the characters actually likeable. Also, super enjoyed the fact that they didn’t drag out the ending for long; they took a realistic time to review and then fixed the issue.

Two Houses
Selena Bibrah
Priya and Gavin
Priya and Gavin, enemies since preschool, run competing auction houses in NYC. And currently they are competing for the big prize that could ‘make’ their houses. The action begins when they both go to the collectors home to try to win the rights to the collection.
This enemies to lovers story was well written. Priya and Gavin were appealing and charming. The plot was convincing and you rooted for them to come together. The sexy bits were hot but didn’t overwhelm the story. I would recommend this book to my patrons.

I loved this book. Priya and Gavin are rival auctioneers at different auction houses, and they’re both after the same collection of art. The collector puts them to the test to decide who will get to sell his art by inviting both Priya and Gavin to his country estate for a week-long house party. (I associate “house party” with an out-of-control rager, but in this context it’s a rich people house party with daily activities like horseback riding, ballroom dancing, and lavish dinners.)

When these rivals are in forced proximity for a week, their walls start coming down and their clothes start coming off. Their sniping and pranking each other doesn’t stop, but it does become gentler as they get to see different sides of each other. Watching them get closer and have some very steamy scenes together was delicious.

The setting is unique—I’ve never read a romance novel set in the art world. I enjoyed that aspect of the story a lot. The voice is fresh, and the story touches on things like burnout at work, parental expectations, and the importance of standing up for yourself and what you want. I really enjoyed it and look forward to whatever comes next from this debut author.

This was a decent contemporary romance with two warring auctioneers who are childhood enemies and secretly crush on each other. There were some funny moments and sweet moments. I did wish their was bit more angst and sexual tension but entertaining nonetheless.

I love this kind of romance. Two people who think they’re different but really have a lot in common. I was really rooting for this romance from the beginning. I highly recommend this book.
