Will definitely be buying this book. I immediately wanted to try all the recipes. I loved that it varied among all different food cuisines.

If you love pasta and noodles this is the book for you - full of flavorful recipes. Sadly, I had a problematic digital pre-edition of the book which made it almost impossible to read with all the letters jumbled up, but that shouldn't be a problem for paper editions. This means I didn't try any of the recipes but went by ingredient list and picture alone. - it still was a wonderful inspiration. What I particularly liked was that it incorporated a basic pasta base recipes so you could make your prime ingredient from scratch, and included a wonderful mix of western and Asian recipes so that you find Japanese, Chinese and Vietnamese noodle staples here (with soba/rice vermicelli...)

That Noodle life by Mike and Stephanie Le is real delicious. They teach you how to enjoy different types of pasta and noddle. The receipts are yummy and easy to follow. The cookbook is very colorful.

As a BIG noodle fan, this cover and title immediately caught my eye and I was super excited to receive an ARC! Though there is definitely some variety/inclusion of Italian-style and other noodles, I would definitely say the focus here is on a wide variety of Asian noodles, which had honestly been my expectation and hope, as those are the noodle recipes I'm least familiar with making at home and the most excited to try!

I really enjoyed the sections and how the recipes were laid out, with helpful tips and suggestions to change things up in the margins of each recipe. The photos and graphic design is gorgeous, and they had several cool graphic layouts breaking down things like making wok noodles or your own noodle bowl or gussying up ramen that was less a precise recipe and more guidance on how to approach building these noodle meals and tailoring them to your tastes/what you've got around. While I'm personally more of a fan of exact recipes, I could very much appreciate their function and thought it was cool to include a good balance of both.

At the end there's a breakdown of ingredients and equipment which I thought was super helpful, especially as there were definitely some ingredients that I've not used before. I thought it was all broken down in a way that was super clear and easy to understand, but didn't at all feel condescending. I've got a LOT of noodle recipes bookmarked and am super excited to make them all!

I honestly think this is a book I'll end up buying a hard-copy of when it comes out, which is rare for me to say if I have an ARC! But the book is beautiful and the digital copy does have a bit of formatting weirdness that I know is just a function of it being a digital/advance copy.

If you're a noodle fan, I definitely recommend!

This is an excellent cookbook for noodles of all kinds. It's all here Ramen, Pho, Wok Noodles, Lasagna with Meat Sauce, Chicken Lasagna and Eggplant Lasagna to name a delicious, satisfying few and there are many more! Includes a through description of ingredients, sourcing and equipment for your noodle kitchen.

Does it really get any better than a cookbook ode to noodles, complete with noodle haiku? I don't think so. The chapter themes are charming and set a fun tone for the recipes ahead. I loved all the advice and recommendations at the beginning of the book, and accompanying each recipe. I now want to make all their delightful variations on Mac n. cheese, even though I know I will always love the classic best. Gotta admit, I'm a little scared to try making crispy chow main noodles at home, but this makes me want to give it a go. For now, I'm going to make some ramen and kick it up a notch.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC, in exchange for this honest review.

This is too big, unfocused, and specialized to be useful to most home cooks. Covering both Italian-style and a huge variety of Asian noodles, there's too much. When a cookbook prefaces a recipe to warn that it needs specialty ingredients and has numerous time-consuming steps, then you know it's going to be unrealistic. The number of recipes of the "spent my entire Saturday cooking this one bowl" make this a cookbook no one could actually cook their way through.

The cutesy, pop-inspired recipe names and hokey writing will make this age super fast. For a fun noodle cookbook, start with Let's Make Ramen!: A Comic Book Cookbook instead.

As a major noodle lover, this book immediately caught my attention when I saw it on the site. I was so excited to get the opportunity to review it and I can honestly say it did not disappoint!

My boyfriend and I are both long distance runners, so pasta is life, and this book offers so many fun variations on noodle dishes from around the world. Many of the recipes will look familiar, but many have a fun twist or switch up that makes them more than just another noodle dish. Most of the recipes have fun names and really enticing photos. I'm a major stickler for good, abundant photos in cookbooks and this one scores a 10.

The authors really do the education aspect of this book well. They not only tell you about the different varieties of pasta that they recommend, some of which readers may not have experience with, they show you what they look like as well so you can have a better sense of what you're looking for at the store. They also throw in tips on how to improve the recipes, what ingredients are vital and shouldn't be substituted or skimped on, and how to prep the foods in advance and store them for the week.

So far I've made five of the recipes, three Asian and two Western, and they all turned out wonderfully. The ingredients were not difficult for me to source, although I'm sure the ease of finding ingredients will be affected by the reader's location, and the steps were easy to follow. I actually like that they group the recipes by "type" rather than by meal or geographic region, etc.

My only complaint, so to speak, has to do with formatting. I'm sure because I'm reviewing an ARC that this will all be addressed before the book is published, but there were some issues with words blocking other words on some of the pages, as well as a lack of a table of contents or an index. I'll give the book the benefit of the doubt that this will not be an issue in the final copy.

I definitely think I'll be recommending this book to loads of people. The book is fun and approachable, but doesn't talk down to the audience and isn't just a rehashing of the same recipes that you can find in dozens of different places. I am very likely to purchase this book for myself when it comes out.

If you are looking for the best cookbooks on noodles ever I cannot recommend this book enough. Everything you can ever want to know about the greatest food ever made is in this book. This is the comprehensive noodle cookbook.

Not only do Mike and Stephanie Le give you a variety of noodle recipes from so many different types of places (Your typical Italian and Japanese noodles, but also Malaysian, Vietnamese, Southeast Asian and even dumplings, but they also have this amazing humor that makes the book as fun as the food in it. I loved the haikus to each noodle type which I think is just so original and the Lasagne bracket. I love the fun recipe names (shout out to Teenage Mutant Ninja Noodles). The book also just has stunning, bright, and happy photography that perfectly fits with the tone of the cookbook.

Not only is the book fun but the recipes are delicious and I have spent the last two weeks cooking a recipe from this book almost every night. Some of my favorites so far include Double Yolk (a fun new take on a Carbonara), Fomo (aka French Onion Mac and Cheese), Secret Ingredient Noodles (you have to read the book to discover the secret), and last but not least the Umami Bomb.

Overall, if you love noodles as much as I do you need to pick up this book.

*I received a copy from Netgalley for my honest review but I will be picking up a physical copy for myself.

I received an ARC for a fair review:

I cannot wait for this book to be released so I can buy myself a copy for my home! If you are a noodle lover like myself, you need to read this. The pages are full of bold and bright photographs of amazing looking pasta and noodle dishes. The dishes have fun and sometimes punny names. There's a guide to items to keep in your fridge, ways to elevate your instant noodles, a guide to different types of noodles and more.

Did I mention there is a recipe for FRENCH ONION MAC and CHEESE?! Cause there totally is and I'm going to make it ASAP.

Loved this. Would give 10 stars if possible.

Not exactly what I expected, but it is a very comprehensive look at every type of noodle and suggestions with recipes on how to use them. The recipes are world-wide and a great variety of meats, vegetarian and spice combinations are represented. My only dislike of this book is that like most cookbooks specialized ingredients that are often hard to find are included in most recipes. (Although there is a glossary with pictures and suggestion on where to find many of them.) They also use rib eye steak, lobster, scallops, lamb and other items which are not financially part of most peoples everyday budget or are not available in their local stores.
The book is an excellent collection of delicious sounding recipes.
The e-pub copy I received to review was really awful, so small it was hard to read the copy and I was unable to enlarge it.

That Noodle Life is a noodle lover's dream book! You'll find Italian, Asian, spicy, party, comfort, quick noodles and "noodles worth the extra effort." Mouthwatering photos accompany detailed and easy to follow recipes and instructions. The index is a wealth of information for sourcing ingredients and tips for special equipment that might be needed. The cover made me think it was a book of Asian recipes, but it's that and so much more. Would be an excellent addition to my kitchen library.

Thank you Workman Publishing Company and NetGalley for this ARC.

I grew up eating a lot of noodles (pasta) so I know my way around a pot of boiling water. Well I thought I did until I read this cookbook. It blew my mind all the different combinations. The authors are hilarious. They clearly don’t take themselves too seriously so neither should you. Cooking should be fun and playful. They start the book with the haiku guide to noodles. I mean how can you not love this book for that alone? I won’t spoil any of the recipe names for you but trust me you will smile.

This book is very well designed and a must have for any cook! The recipes are easy to follow. The photos and layout are stunning, and the recipes were delicious. I will say though, living in a pretty rural area some of the ingredients used were hard to come by.

Unfortunately due to a technical issue (my computer was in repair for most of the time the download was available) I didn't make it through entirely, but the first half I read (not in order) was great.
There are some interesting recipes (with great titles) as well as some helpful tips for those of us who don't know as much about noodles (outside of restaurant ones).
It's still hard to make on your own when you have no prior knowledge and no one to teach you (easier to see than to read) but it's still doable .

This book was beautiful, it taught me a little about noodles, and it was a bunch of FUN. If you like noodles of any kind, this is definitely a cookbook to add to your shelf. The descriptions and recipes (including noodle description in HAIKU format) made it more than a mere book to grab a recipe from - it was actually fun to read.

This would make a great gift for any young cook or anime lover!

I received a digital ARC of this book as a reviewer for NetGalley.

To be 100% honest, I'm not entirely sure how to review a cookbook. However, on the surface this seems like a great one. I love noodles in any form and the recipes here are so innovative I can't wait to try them all.

I received a copy through NetGalley for review.

So I really love noodles, and I was excited to see that this does not discriminate on the variety of rice noodles, pasta, soba, ramen etc. It covers all the noodles. It also had a large chapter on strictly lasagna.

I kind of wish it included more chow mein or stir fry style recipes, it was what I was really hoping for more but it glazed over it a bit. I feel like the lasagna chapter was much more comprehensive and had a lot more recipes for that.

But it covers pasta, pho, ramen, lasagna, etc you name it. But overall its a solid book. Just wish for a bit more.

This book has all the information you could ever want or need in relation to noodles. As well as having the expected wide array and variety of recipes including noodles it also has information about the different types of noodles, their composition and the best ingredients to use with them.
