What a beautiful story ! I liked that it was set in the 40s, I am a big fan of historical romance.
It was very well written, the story is realistic, very nice and you can easily relate to the characters.
Really enjoyed this book and would recommend!

I really enjoyed this historical romance. Set in NYC the story alternates between 1946 and four years earlier in 1942. In the summer of 1942 well off Emily Stanton gets a summer of a lifetime staying with her cousin Allie and her family near Central Park in NYC. Allie explores the city with Kate Alessi who is Allies best friend. As Allie prepares to send her boyfriend off to war Emily and Kate form a deep friendship. In 1946 Emily is graduating college and returning to NYC for her wedding to Tommy who she's dated for six years. The photographer her mother hires is her old friend Kate.

I love the NYC setting and can picture it all in 1940s with soldiers heading off and returning from war. Emily and Kate are both wonderfully kind and warm characters. Emily's love of art and Kate's of photography is something the two can easily bond over. There is a poignancy as they navigate their friendship and about things that can't be spoken. I like that they have quiet support from cousin Allie and Kate's sister Mia. This is a lovely story and reflects the reality of many lives even though it takes place only 80 years ago. Thank you NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books for an ARC ebook in exchange for an honest review.
