Fun, funny, and incredibly sweet and charming, APRIL MAY FALL was a delightful romance that delivers plenty of realistic moments that most, if not all, parents can relate to. The main love interests, April and Jack, had immediate chemistry, though there was a fair bit of reluctance on Jack’s part, and that made it feel that much sweeter when they finally got together.

There’s a terrific cast of supporting characters that not only bring in extra laughs, but showcase how incredible female friendships really can be. April’s friends were uplifting, wanting only the best for her, and I absolutely loved the how Hovland showcased what positive friendships should look like. Speaking of positive, I also loved how supportive Jack was towards April, even before they got together. I tend to gravitate towards darker romances and it’s always so refreshing to encounter lovely and truly healthy relationships.

April is a single parent, and that plays a prominent role in this book. Parenting is hard, and it’s doubly so when you’re doing it solo. So many of us think we’re holding everything together, and it only takes one tiny thing out of place to make it all fall apart. Hovland doesn’t sugarcoat any of the challenges of balancing life, work, commitments, and parenting, and I loved the realistic aspect that added to the story. I laughed plenty of times during April’s parenting fails, only because I’ve been there plenty of times myself.

All told, APRIL MAY FALL is a delightfully charming single-parent romance that will just make you feel good and squishy. 4 stars, and I’ll certainly be reading more from this author.

April May Fall is the third book in the Mommy Wars series by Christina Hovland, and I think that this series just keeps getting better.

April is a social influencer known as the Calm Mom when in reality she's barely holding it all together after her husband left. Then on a live video, April goes viral for being...well not calm. To help salvage her career, Jack, April's contact at the media company that purchased April's brand, steps in to help April get her confidence back. As sparks start flying, will Jack stay on board with a mom of three?

I loved the relationship that April and Jack developed. Jack was supportive and focused on helping April find time for herself. I just wanted to give April a hug, because being a single mom of three is hard work and it was no wonder she lost her cool. I loved all that Jack did to help April and her children, he really was swoon-worthy and someone that I could root for.

Overall, this was a fun story about being a single mom and finding love.

Thank you to NetGalley, Entangled Publishing, and Grey's Promo for the gifted copy in exchange for an honest review.

April is a single mother of three children after a horrible divorce a year ago. She has a intern brand of The Calm Mom but with her children and all the running around trying to get things back in a routine she’s anything but calm! She has a bad viral internet video and Jack her boss comes to help her get things calmed down. When he gets there he starts helping but soon finds her and her children are what he’s been missing. Will this lead to more between them? I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I got a chance to read April May Fall by Christina Hovland. Overall, I liked the story. However, there were couple of things I didn't like. One was her friends signing her up for an online dating service. April clearing not ready for something like that. Plus, she kind of had the hots for her boss Jack. I had to get that off my chest first before I could dive into the rest of the story.

Why did I pick this story to read? 1. I liked the cover. It's a super cute cover. Plus, I love color; very eye catching. 2. The title; it grabs your attention. It fits the story. Sometimes you get titles that you are like huh. 3. The book blurb caught my attention. I mean you have April who is holding onto a thread, and then you see it while streaming. So, we have Jack Gibson coming to the rescue.

I mean the opening of the story was epic. She gets roasted by other mommy bloggers, and she has to overcome her situation. Jack sees that she needs the encouragement. Of course something builds has he helps her rebuild her image. The kids are adorable in this story and I wish they played a bigger part in the story. Oh well.

I enjoyed April May Fall, and I found it to be cute read. The kids were adorable. Her friends were okay. I think I would have been pissed if they signed me up for a dating app. I'm glad that didn't pan out. Jack was adorable with the kids. Yes the story was a little rushed, but it was fine for me. I like that this is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone. I wouldn't mind going back to checkout the previous stories. If you are looking for some light reading with a single mom trying show that she's cool and collective, but hanging by a thread. She just needs a little encouragement this might be your read.

April has been trying to maintain her image of being calm and in control so that she can promote her yoga videos on social media however the truth is very different. Trying to heal from the betrayal of her ex while helping her children adjust to their new normal would be difficult enough but trying to balance that with a career is challenging. When everything erupts in spectacular details it is Jack who must try and repair the damage.

Jack may have experience in helping people repair their reputations however April’s situation is unlike anything he has experienced before. He soon finds himself embroiled in the lives of April and her children and it isn’t long before they become a part of his life that he isn’t sure he can do without.

April’s struggles are something that any mother can experience as trying to balance everything that life throws at you is a challenge. Not only do April and Jack draw you in but the secondary characters are intriguing and enhance the story.

This wasn't my favorite sort of book. I'm not very into the cliched mommy battles.

Was an easy read, I would read more from this author, I would just make sure to read the summaries in advance.

Book 3 in the series.
Release day. October 26 2021

This story is fantastic and it will make you see what a single mom goes through. April tries to put her life back together after her divorce and a single mom. There are some touching scenes in this story , but some real funny ones also . Jack tries to steer April an influencer in the right direction. Jack buys her Brand and gives her ideas. After a while he has no choice but to come and visit April. That’s when the romance slowly builds.
Past characters show up in this story. Jacks sister is a great friend of April.
You should grab the previous books to see Jack and April in those ones also

Loved this book! Could totally sympathize with April's struggles and challenges to be a great mom, a single parent, and have a crazy career that showcases your good, bad, and ugly for the whole world to see. I loved Jack, and his growth throughout the story. His interactions with the kids were priceless, and I think I liked him more than I liked April! In true Christina Hovland style, she's added a secondary character who steals the show and just says things as she sees them! Go Kitty!! Great series and the stories get better with each book. Had a lot of LOL's with the quotes at the start of each chapter!

April May Fall was my first Christina Hovland novel and I absolutely loved it. This is a story about the challenges of life after divorce while raising three children, about self discovery and rebuilding confidence. I couldn't put this book down. The plot was fantastic, and gave us a realistic look at single mom life. The main characters Jack and April were likable and relatable and you will easily fall in love with them and the side characters, not to be outdone, were a fantastic outlandish addition to the tale.
This story was hilarious, witty, charming, steamy a bit emotional and included some amusing antics that will have you laughing out loud. The author did a fabulous job with April's character development from insecure to confident and I was totally there for it cheering her on. The story was well paced with great structure and so well written I was hooked from beginning to end. I would highly recommend this novel to lovers of contemporary romance.

This was awesome. Apparently I was supposed to read Something About Molly, but my timing got mixed up so I read this one instead. I loved it. She didn't seem as much of a mess as the cover art shows, but the feelings of inadequacy her ex left her with sure felt real to me. I remember when I got divorced, it took a lot to get my confidence back. Funny how Jack just jumped into her life not knowing a thing about what he was doing, but feeling like she needed help and he was the only one to give it. Sometimes the thing we think we need the least is truly what we need the most. Jack discovers that almost immediately with April and her kids. While April so worried about the rebound man she's unwilling to see it might be the real deal this time around.

Just like in real life it takes two people to meet at the right time in their lives to make love happen. Both Jack and April come together in their lives at just the right moment when they don't even realize they need each other.

The comedy was great. I always wanted to try the furniture polish and sock trick, but was too afraid I might not be able to sit the next day after Mom got done with me to make that happen in my life. Christina gives us a little bit of outlandish comedy, lots of true comedy moments and laughter throughout to make you love this couple and the kids way too much. I'm sorry I missed Something about Molly, but I'm really glad I caught this one and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a little laughter and a lot of love.

I want to admit right up front that I am no big fan of social media or influencers, so I don't know much about that side of this book. However, I am a huge fan of romance and I thought this was a good one. Plus, I feel most readers will easily see some parts of themselves in April. I mean we all struggle, our lives are far from perfect, we all feel overwhelmed and most of us just try to pretend we have it all together and show the world what we want them to see and that is what I felt really made up the base of this book. I loved Jack and found April's kids highly entertaining April though was just OK. Maybe that was because I don't get the whole social media thing or not but, honestly, I found her a just a bit unlikable. I did like these two as a couple though. I really liked the dynamic they shared. This story is a slow burn but I felt the chemistry was evident and the sparks flew. The kids were real scene stealers an if you are like me, your heart is probably going to melt as you witness some of their interactions with Jack. This was a cute & fun read filled with humor, emotion, romance, heart and a splash of heat.

I think every mom or caregiver of any kind can relate to at least one thing in this book!

Not only could I relate to April in regards to a few things, I absolutely loved her! I loved it when she finally let it all out and simultaneously called out the haters! But even better, her kind heart in being forgiving and trying to help those that sought to hurt her. Beautiful and uplifting!
And Jack…oh my! Just like April and the kids, I fell head over bananas for him! Every interaction with the kids had me swooning!

Christina Hovland is a new-to-me author, but I read such great things about the previous books in the Mommy Wars series, I decided to give this one a try. It had me hooked from the hilariously out-of-control live feed shopping trip. And what started out as a slow-burn romantic connection between April and Jack turned into a journey of self-discovery for them both.

April felt her life had fallen apart, and Jack felt like his was just where he wanted it. But sometimes, what feels like falling apart is really falling into place, and that’s what these two eventually discovered. Not without some pitfalls and big obstacles, however. But with hilariously honest kids with their own quirks, outspoken and unique friends who love to meddle, and a mean girl thrown in, their journey brought laughter, a few tears, and an ultimate hooray for April as well as for her and Jack’s relationship. I am definitely looking forward to reading more from this author!

I loved reading this book! April and Jack's chemistry could by felt thru the pages and the mom references throughout the whole book were relatable and so spot on. I don't want to give any spoilers because this book is so worth reading especially for all the mom's and the divorced ones trying to come out on the other side better than before. Definitely Recommend!!!
Even though I did receive an advanced review copy of this book, I am voluntarily leaving my own unsolicited, voluntary opinion with this review.

I’m not a mom, but there’s still so much about this book that I can relate to. Especially all the realizations April eventually comes to. I can also completely understand that there’s nothing particularly Zen-like in a divorce, and how it’s particularly difficult to find that kind of center again afterwards. I really loved getting to know these characters. We’d gotten to see glimpses of their lives in the previous books, but here we get up close and personal with April and Jack. When we were first introduced to them, I didn’t believe that they would fit together as well as they do. Jack’s ‘corporate raider’ personality seemed so at odds with April’s rapidly dissolving calm oasis. But as we got to know them and the layers peeled back, it began to make perfect sense to me. I don’t know where this series is going to take me, but I’m buckling in for the ride. I can’t wait to see what’s next.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author through NetGalley.

I asked the publisher, will I like this book since I’m nothing like April? No kids, never a single mom, never known this level of chaos. She assured me I would and she was right. April May Fall is a charming romp with lots of good feels, a good lesson for all women and a happily ever after.

April, divorced, three young children and a budding social influencing career, is having a really tough year. The worst of it is the live feed where it’s revealed for all that her life is far from perfect. Her kids are real, her struggle just that a struggle and she’s frazzled. In steps Jack, her media guru and friend’s brother. He moves into the colorful Kitty’s room share across the street to give April his full attention and save her from this disaster. Jack is the epitome of the confirmed bachelor with no interest in a life anything like April’s. He’s got his sterile home, overwhelming career which he’s amazing at and there’s no room for mess, kids and moms. Or is there?

It was fun to watch April find herself again and what woman’s ovaries aren’t going to melt over a guy like Jack. Turns out he’s great with kids, they love him and he’s surprised to find how much he likes spending time with them. He can, and willing will, fold laundry. He’s the calm this Calm Mom needs long enough to get her feet back under her. With Jack sharing the load April is able to find herself, her strength, her direction again. It’s not easy. It takes a bit of time and a lot of missteps but once she’s back its impressive. The live interview where she finally admits she’s not the perfect woman and mom is amazing! Go April! Go regular women, who are overlooked in social media!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I laughed. I cried. The cast is so diverse and yet mesh so well together.

Who’s ready for an “oh-so-cute” romance with a splash of spice? You’ll find it in Christina Hovland’s latest romantic comedy, April May Fall. Stay calm and breathe....a mantra for every mom, especially single moms like April. I love this series about moms that focuses heavily on single moms.

Let’s face it, parenting is hard. Being a mom is harder. April knew this before her divorce, but her slacker ex-husband wasn’t much of a father, so being a single mother isn’t all that much different. Except for the need to bring home the bacon. I still don’t get the idea of social media influencer being a job, but that is what April is going for. If she can build upon her online yoga videos by creating the persona Calm Mom, maybe she can get enough sponsors so she doesn’t have to depend on the ex-husband so much.

April is a likable, empathetic character. Her kids are adorable; I loved all their odd quirks. Even though this series is about the moms, the character I loved the most was Jack. Jack is truly the calm one in this book. He brings his marketing and PR expertise to Colorado to help get April back on track after her not-so-calm shopping trip went viral.
Does April find her calm? Does she get her mojo back? Does Jack have anything to do with that? Oh, yeah! I enjoyed the characters and loved the banter and dialogue. April May Fall is a quick, fun read that I devoured in one seating.

April is the Calm Mom, a Denver yoga teacher building her influencer status post-divorce, before her livefeed organic grocery shopping with other three children (and borrowed dog) goes both wrong and viral. Her social media manager flies in from LA to help April build back her confidence, and the experience helps him build some character, too. And of course, he's handsome! A fun and quick romance read, this one comes out today. Many thanks to NetGallery and Entangled Publishing for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
