Such a fantastic read and an amazing story that was so will written with lots of twists and turns and full of suspense. I loved all the characters and intertwining their life’s and work making this such a brilliant read. I would really highly recommend this book that I couldn’t leave down, just wanted to get to the end to have it all explained. Top read.

A well written book with impressive twists. I think there were too many typos in this book and/or too much slang language to follow conversations.

It was rather slow in the beginning but the 2nd half of the book was gripping and engaging. The main person was hard to get to like though.

Have you ever read a book and it didn't quite catch your attention in the beginning and you were wondering where the author is going with this? Should I bother finishing it? Well that’s how I felt when I first started reading The Hands of Love. The book started off materialistic and superficial with greedy cops doing questionable deeds. And a lot of characters were mentioned but no details about them were given.

But then at some point I sat down to pick up where I left off and it turns out I didn't want to stop reading. The dirty cops are being questioned by Internal Affairs, Momo’s brother wants to get revenge for his brother’s death and wait...women are being killed right in front of their homes. Then I was hooked!

The author did an awesome job on setting the foundation and making the puzzle pieces click. There was a reason behind it all. I figured out early on who the killer was but it was interesting to see if the detectives ever would. The detectives on the case, McCain and Bernstein, were not the best detectives because they only seemed to focus on one suspect and they didn't look at the big picture and ask what would be the motive for the suspect. I've watched enough crime shows and read enough books to have several hours of investigative skills so this was an easy solve. But if the case had been solved there wouldn't have been the surprise ending. Thumbs up to the author on keeping the suspense going and ending with the big reveal.

I enjoyed the book and after a few chapters I learned to appreciate the author’s writing style and his knack for including wise sayings or advice during character conversations. People in the world can be harsh and I felt the author gave us a glimpse of that dark side. I don't condone murder but in the book the murders were speaking what wasn't said verbally. Lorenzo (Ren) Love had good qualities, he loved his dad and would do anything to save him, but he just wasn't a good person. He is cocky, thinks he is untouchable and that he can sleep around but he learns there is always someone else who has a darker side. A warning for possible readers, the book does contain and reference sex and also there are details that discloses how the murders happened.

took me awhile to get into this, i was put off by how the author, as a man was portraying woman's sexuality and the grittiness of the book, I get that that is the way it is, but the characters were so unlikeable, it was interesting, better as a tv show than a book where i want more depth

Lorenzo (Ren) Love is a member of a unique group of the Dallas Police. He and his team are responsible for investigating the most heinous of crimes .. mostly drug dealing.

Ren has an excellent record of crime solving .. but he's not the angel everyone thinks he is. He's a dirty cop .. taking money under the table from drug dealers. In return the drug dealers don't worry about getting caught .. as long as there are no major crimes .. like murder.

But his good luck charm is becoming tarnished. He has not been paying enough enough attention to this wife and son , his mistress wants more, Internal Affairs is investigating his team for an illegal shooting, and young women are being murdered, one by one, with the evidence pointing directly at Ren.

BOOK BLURB: The race is on to cover his tracks, clear his crew, and find a serial killer before it's too late. Can Ren slip out of another tight squeeze, or will he finally go down?

Suspense from the very first page intensifies as this fast paced novel takes the reader through the crime infested streets of East Dallas. The characters .. and language ... are gritty. The ending is explosive, totally mind-blowing.

Many thanks to the author / Outskirtpress / Netgalley for the digital copy of this crime fiction. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
