Thank you so much Netgalley and Tokyopop for giving me an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

If I could describe this manga in three lines it would be:
♥ Innocence ♥
♥ Puppy love ♥
♥ Pure Friendship ♥

In Volume 1, we follow Yamada who had a crush on his childhood friend, Seno without knowing that Seno felt the same way too. Other than that, we also follow another set of main characters, Akada and Toda who are long time best friends who started to falling for each other too.

Here are my thoughts :

● This is so freaking cute! There is no unnecessary drama, no conflict, just pure innocence and fluffy romance. I read this manga at the perfect time, where I was looking for something cute and I got it!

● The friendship circle of Akada, Toda, and Yamada were so much fun to read about. They trust each other, kept on teasing about such unnecessary things which I absolutely love. It made me miss my high school life.

● In my opinion some panels could be drawn better but overall I really enjoyed this one. I'm looking forward for volume 2!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A cute, sweet and funny shojo with lovely characters. The story starts with Yamada a cool and smart second year student who is simply in love with his childhood friend Seno and he is pretty honest with himself and the others about his feelings, then we have his two classmates Akama and Toda who are friends but also start to have some romantic feelings for each other but they are afraid to express them and try to keep them hidden which is not that easy.

It was simply enjoyable and funny to follow this four friends with their journey through their growing feelings. I want to know what will happen next between Akama and Toda.

I received this ARC from NetGalley and TOKYOPOP in exchange for an honest review.

This was a super sweet read. Nothing too substantial but it was enjoyable. We follow Yamada, Seno, Akama, and Toda as they navigate high school and their changing feelings. Their friends are starting to look different to them. However, admitting that to themselves and each other proves to be a challenge.

In the first volume, we watch our characters work through their feelings mainly with themselves. In my opinion, I found them to be pretty realistic to how someone may feel at that age. There wasn't anything too substantial happening in this book other than day-to-day types of events that would happen in real life. It did, however, leave in a cliff-hanger type of spot. I'm super curious what will happen in volume 2!

Overall, this was an enjoyable read and I would recommend this to a friend. I'll be on the lookout for volume 2 to see what happens with Yamada, Sendo, Akama, and Toda.

This was a very cute, fluffy high school love story. Unfortunately it was too much fluff for me and not enough compelling storytelling. I did not connect with the main characters at all and the side characters were interesting, but the romance is very overplayed for me. If you're looking for a cute, light read then this may be for you.

It's been so long since I have read shoujo manga, and Springtime by the Window reminds me again why I used to be obsessed with this genre. Let me just say that Yamada and Seno served mutual pining and childhood friends to lovers trope excellently. Like seriously, those two tropes are my top favourites, and reading this book really put a smile on my face. I seriously love the relationship between Yamada and Seno because these two are just cute together. Overall, it was an adorable and light read. I can't wait to read the next volume to see more development between Yamada and Seno. I really recommend for everyone who loves shoujo manga to try out this story.

Wow, Springtime by the Window surprised me! This is such a perfect series basically and actually only two volumes long. Yamada is a stoic boy and everyone thinks he's cool and girls swoon over him. Yamada has a crush on his childhood friend Seno, but these two are too shy to confess their feelings. Then we have Yamada's friends Akama and Toda, who are basically goofy idiots and cannot convey their feelings to one another either, but in a different way. So, this sounds cliched, but it isn't! The characters are funny, cute, realistic and awesome personas. The whole story line is realistic too with good humor and we get inside the characters' heads. This is surely one of the best shoujo mangas I've read and I've read a lot.

The art isn't topnotch though, which kind of takes some joy out of reading, but it's easy to get used to. The faces look slightly wooden and bland, but gladly there are facial expressions to help with that. Perhaps I'd say this is ugly cute in a way? Still, the story is the thing and I loved it. Such a great one this is.

I can see this story working for a lot of readers, but it didn't really work for me. Definitely aimed for an younger audience, and as someone who has consumed A LOT of shojo manga there really isn't anything new to get here. The characters don't have a lot of emotional depth to them and I think having four characters introduced at the same time, and trying to give them all equal spotlight in one volume more so leads to a shallow characterization with a lot of room for improvement. I also don't like how there don't seem to be a clear main character, it makes the focus of the story very broad, especially in volumes like these with 10+ shorter chapters. I definitely prefer the 4-5 chapters per volume format. Because it floats more nicely and it's easier to keep the pace. Here it feels a little jagged as some chapters takes place in the now, some in the past and the way time passes is different in the different chapters. The art is also not my favorite. But I can easily see younger readers who are newer to genre enjoy it.

All I have to say is WOW! I haven’t enjoyed a manga this much in a long time! This story is a great friends to lovers romance between two couples of childhood friends, it genuinely brings laughter and has discussion around romance that is so relatable. At times some conversations between the love interests can be frustrating but in the best way that makes you so eager to read more! I’m will definitely be picking up the next volume to continue on with their stories!!

One word: adorable! Springtime by the Window centers on four high school students juggling friendship and romance. Both pairs introduced in this volume are friends to lovers. Our cover couple, Yamada and Seno, are childhood friends. They're both crushing on each other, completely unbeknownst to the other! Similarly, Yamada's friends Akama and Toda enjoy entertaining themselves with his love life yet fail to pick up on their own requited crushes on each other. Over the course of this volume we see cute moments between both pairs as they enjoy each other's company while failing to take their friendships to the next level. There's also some endearing ribbing between friends as they try to egg each other's romances on.

With its lighthearted, drama-free vibe, I'd describe this almost as a YA Wotakoi (minus the otaku gags). I really enjoyed this and will gladly be moving onto volume two to see where things go for these characters.

This title was really cute. The main character has two close friends, a boy and a girl, and they secretly like each other but mostly tease each other throughout the book. The main character has a crush on a childhood friend. Over the course of this book they pass by each other with little hints that they like each other. It's just incredibly sweet to watch grow and in the last chapter the main character asks her out and they are no longer unrequited. The same thing happens to the main character's close friends. This book was incredibly sweet and would be perfect for any girl that loves the will-they-won't-they romance story.

First, I want to say thank you to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for the chance to read this Manga as an ARC!

This is such a cute story surrounding the two main characters story of first love, beginning when they were children. Seno reminds me a lot of Tohru from Fruits Basket, and I loved that Manga! I love how pure Seno is, especially her interactions with the bunnies. I also loved the interactions and the friendships between Toda, Akama, and Yamada. The artwork was also stunning and I already can't wait to read the next volume!

Young love, first love and crazy embarrassing moments...

Should I write a poem instead of a review?

But then again

Would anyone understand?

So yes I liked this simple storyline and the plot.

School life romance in full bloom. I love the second/side couple more. They deserve more focus.

There's nothing wrong with the main characters. They are mild and peaceful.

I prefer the ones who give me the worst second hand embarrassment because I could relate to them.

They are pretty funny and because of the second pair, I laughed out loud until the end.

The artstyle is awesome.

Looking forward to the second volume.

Thank you, author, artist and the publisher for the advance reader copy.

Thank you to Tokyopop and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

First off, I was so excited to be approved to read this ARC! Tokyopop is the company that introduced me to manga, and I remember going to Barnes and Noble and hanging out in the manga section all the time. I have so many good memories of reading Tokyopop manga like Bizenghast, Princess Ai, and Fruits Basket, and I am so happy to support this company. Thank you again to the publisher for this opportunity!

Springtime by the Window, Volume 1 by Suzuyuki is an absolutely adorable romantic comedy that will appeal to fans of shojo manga like Kimi ni Todoke and Horimiya. The story revolves around four main characters. Yamada and Seno are the blond characters on the cover. Yamada has had an unrequited crush on his childhood friend Seno for a long time. Will he work up the courage to ask her to go on a date with him? And will Seno be able to return his feelings? Meanwhile, the other two main characters are brunettes Akama and Toda. They are the comic relief in this book, and they encourage Yamada to tell Seno about his feelings. Later, they start to realize that they have feelings for each other.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading this shojo manga, and I am giving it 5 amazing stars! The plot of first love is absolutely adorable. This book is great if you want to read about the development of a relationship, from the beginning when he first asks her out to their first date. Also, there are plenty of gags and jokes in this manga. In particular, when Akama and Toda play the "I love you" game (when they have to say "I love you" until one of them blushes) is a super funny and cute scene. I would recommend this manga for fans of other shojo manga like Kimi ni Todoke and Horimiya. If you're intrigued by the description above, or if you're a fan of romantic comedies, then I highly recommend that you check out this manga when it comes out in September!
