Tory and Colt have the classic enemies-to-lovers story. I've seen this series around and I'm moat going to have to read the prior books. Tory and Colt have settled on friends with benefits situation. Although they are sticking with the enemies in front of everyone else. It's clear they have feels for each other. This was a cute story, the banter between Tory and colt was super cute. The sec was steamy! A recommendation for sure

I feel like I should've read something before this one, like I'm way behind in the group dynamics and I think that has impacted how I felt about this one.

Tori and Colton are both in a situation where they want to start dating and are both trying to get into the online matchmaking of it but they are also secretly seeing each other for booty calls. Colton is Tori's best friends brother and she just isn't super nice to him. I'm not sure I can figure out what is to like about her honestly half way through she is having a temper tantrum about her womb trying to kill her. Like your period is nothing new but we're having a meltdown and lashing out at people who are her friends. I didn't see anything made her an introvert?

Buuuuuuut he really isn't any better by making nasty comments to her about having to replace his F buddy if she starts dating. CRINGE and YIKES.

I had a hard time buying that they would have any feelings towards each other that felt real.

To be very honest, this book was a disaster.

There was no online dating and no way in hell was the main character an introvert.

This was just really bad and the audiobook narration only made it worse. I didn't care for the story or any of the characters.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing me a copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this audiobook. The narrator’s did a fantastic job conveying the humor and emotions.
Emma Hart writes romantic comedy that leave you with a smile on your face and she achieved that here with this book.
Would definitely recommend.

The Introvert's Guide to Online Dating was a fun, flirty, antagonistic frenemies with benefits, low drama romance. I can't actually believe this was my first Emma Hart book! I have so many of her backlog slated in my TBR book pile.

Tori and Colton have an "it's complicated" relationship. In the streets in the cold light of day, they openly can't stand each other. Something about the other is just like nails on a chalkboard and they can't help themselves from picking and snipping at the other. But, late at night in privacy and secret, for the last [redacted] or so have grown from frienemies to seriously and completely scratching each other's itch. We enter The Introvert's Guide to Online Dating at a time where Tori acknowledges it's time to start possibly dating. But neither Tori nor Colton want to really stop what they are doing either, Again, "it's complicated" is their nom de plume.

I love a good enemies-to-lovers or frenemies-to-lovers romance. I can't get enough of antagonistic snipping tensions turning all combustible until explosive smexy times take all the things. And we got so much of that here. I was never really quite sure they hated each other but I can get that some people no matter who you are just get under your skin no matter what they do. Unfortunately, there was like zero online dating. Nor was Tori an introvert, so I feel like the title was a bit of a misrepresentation::shrug:: but the story was fun and light.

I had the privilege to get the audiobook for this title and Savannah Peachwood and Tim Paige did an excellent job with the narration. Tim Paige is one of my favorite narrators, so this was a real treat. This was my first time listening to Savannah and I thought she did a great job as well. They both did a wonderful job creating individual characters, their emotion and inflections really brought this story to life. It's always a plus for me when I can get an audiobook and I found that Savannah and Tim's narrations blended well together to create a seamless narration experience.

Overall, I enjoyed the story. I would have loved a bit more of ya' know actual introverts and online dating but, c'est la vie! I would recommend this book for contemporary romance lovers who are looking for a fun frenemies-to-lovers romance with excellent narrators at the helm.

I'm not usually into books where the hero and heroine have an already established relationship. I like the build up and the tension that adds to the romance aspect. This was sadly no exception. While it wasn't a "relationship" it was an active FWB situation and I missed seeing their initial connection form.
I also feel like Tori told us she has feeling for Colton but didn't want to be with him and we never really understand why. She also comes off a bit mean at times which I get was supposed to be her protecting herself, but it seemed kind of extreme.
Also online dating doesn't even play a big part in this ??? So I was confused at the title.
It ended sweetly and I did enjoy it so I don't regret reading it but it wasn't as good as I hoped it would be.

I thought that the story was a cute story but definitely want to go back and read some of the other titles in the series. Their banter was cute, I loved the visits to the nursing home, and the friend group.

The Introvert’s Guide to Online Dating

This is an audio book review. So, I think it is only fitting that I review both the book and narrator separately. Unfortunately, I did not care for either… at all.

First, I do want to say this book taught me a lesson. Always read the synopsis (jacket copy, summary, blurb, etc… take your pick on verbiage). This was one of the rare occasions I picked a book on title alone and decided to go with it. The whole idea of online dating (especially if the MC falls in love with someone from their life they actually hate) interests me greatly. So I jumped in thinking this was gong to be my cup of tea…

I was soooooo wrong. There is ABSOLUTELY ZERO online dating that has anything to do with the story, and our MC is in no way an introvert. I felt the book was trying too hard for shock and aww with vulgarity. It succeeded in neither.

Next is the narrator(s). Now, I acknowledge this is a hard area for me to be wowed but, I was just not feeling it. Tim did not bother me as much with his reading, but I did not care for Savannah’s reading. *shrugging shoulders* I know this is a personal preference and want to make it known that it had no effect on my rating for that very reason.

It is a very quick read. So, if you are curious, go ahead and give it a shot. I hope you like it more than I did.

The story was fun... I wasn't a fan of the narrator for this book. However, I found that I always enjoy a good friends to lovers romance and I love when couples bicker and banter. My main issue was just that I didn't really think there was a strong connection here even with all the mutual pining which I loveee! They were a little annoying hahaha. I definitely feel like I would enjoy this a whole lot more if I was able to read it vs listening to the audiobook. I am still interested in reading the rest of the series!

Disclaimer: I received this book in audio format at no cost from the publisher/author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. I am leaving a voluntary review and all opinions are my own.

I have read and adored several books from Emma Hart prior to this one but this book really didn't work for me. So many things were problematic to me that I just didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped I would.

I really love the author's writing style in terms of banter and dialogue. It's witty and funny, which I love. This was a really cute book but it was a little underdeveloped for my liking. The entire story lacked depth. There was basically no real plot. There also wasn't any real conflict in the story. Other than them realizing that they were probably in love and then one conversation cleared that up. And it felt like the entire story petered out after that anyway. Like, there was almost no point in continuing after that because nothing else really happens. There was no real resolution. The ending of this book was so anticlimactic that I was pretty much sitting there listening to the audiobook waiting for more that never came. It didn't even feel like there was an ending, sadly. There was an epilogue, but it wasn't even about the main couple in the story. The entire epilogue focused on two side characters getting engaged and provided no resolution for the main characters whatsoever. It was a good scene, don't get me wrong. It just probably shouldn't have been the epilogue of this book unless the author was going to add more for the main couple. I kind of felt cheated after reading it.

The characters had no real identities. I could not connect with them one bit. They were flat and forgettable, sadly. I think that one of the reasons for this is because the reader doesn't get to know the characters. When the story starts, the main couple has been hooking up for months. The reader doesn't get to experience the "getting to know you" phase at all. I think that took a lot of the emotional connection to the characters away. The only character that I felt had any real identity was Tori's grandmother, and I think that is only because she was so quirky and eccentric. None of the other characters seemed to stand out in any distinctive way. And there were SO many side characters that I could not keep track of them. And reading this I got the sense that I was missing something important with regard to the side characters. Like I started reading in the middle of a series and missed all of the character development. This is the first book in this series, but after starting this book and being totally confused I checked and see that there are at least four books prior to this one in two different series with these side characters in them. So yeah, no wonder I had no idea who was who and what the hell was going on. I even checked the author's website for a reading order before I started this book and there is just basically a list in publication order. It doesn't clarify what characters from which books or series overlap with others. I don't mind reading series out of order if there is more than one series that interconnects, but if I feel like I am seriously missing something then I feel like the writing needs improvement. A series should be able to stand on its own, even if it interconnects with other books. The reader shouldn't have to feel like they are on the wrong side of an inside joke. So yeah, that kind of irked me. Another reason why I just didn't feel connected to any of the characters. There wasn't any real character development. There just wasn't enough there to make the reader care about these characters.

I felt that the title of the book was a bit misleading. Or perhaps that it doesn't quite fit the story perfectly. There is very little online dating in the book. The main characters have been hooking up for months when their friends try to intervene in their dating lives. Tori's friends set her up on a date and then she goes on a date with another guy from a dating website and Colton's sister makes him an account on a dating website and he goes out with one woman from the site. The story really isn't about online dating. The main couple doesn't meet through online dating and they barely dabble in online dating. And then there is the introvert label. Tori is anything but introverted. I have no idea why that is even in the title of the book or the series other than the fact that it sounds cool. Tori goes out with her friends, visits her grandmother regularly in a nursing facility, goes on dates, goes to the grocery store on a date, and she even gets up and does karaoke at one point in the book. Not really the definition of someone that is introverted. It just seems so deceiving to title your book and series something that doesn't even apply to the character or story.

Overall, this was a disappointing read for me. I enjoy Hart's witty banter and funny situations but that wasn't enough to save this one for me. The story mechanics needed so much work. I will read this author again since I have enjoyed some of her other titles but I can't say that I would recommend this one.

I received a digital ARC from NetGalley and Dreamscape Media in exchange for an honest review. Tori Sussex is the only single one in her friend group and is now looking to find love. The only problem? She has an arrangement with her best friend's brother, Colton Lane, an she's not sure she wants to give it up. Colton got out of a long term relationship months earlier and just wanted something fun. Now, he may be ready for more, but does he really want to try online dating or to explore what he has with Tori?

This book was cute, but not much more than that. There was a large friend group, but I couldn't keep track of who was who, because the book was too short to really flesh out any characters besides Tori and Colton. And I didn't feel like I got a complete picture of either of those two. WIth romance novels, you always know who the love interests are and who will get the HEA, but there is some sort of mystery or conflict. This book seemed to have none of either. And there really wasn't any chemistry with the two main characters. Ultimately this book fell flat for me.

A short but fun romance read by two very talented narrators. The relationship between Colton and Victoria was laugh-out-loud snarky while their relationships within their group of friends showed a more complete picture of their personalities individually and together. This is the first book in this series and I am definitely going to listen to the rest!

Thank you to Emma Hart, NetGalley, and Dreamscape Media for giving me the chance to listen to this story and share my honest thoughts and opinions with others.

I love Emma Hart... and I wanted to like this book more than I did. Was it funny? of course. Emma Hart does funny so well. Unfortunately I did not enjoy the storyline here. Tori and Colton are frenemies with benefits. I just didn't like their relationship at all. They bickered way too much. It was a bit annoying.

I did enjoy the story and I liked that they got their HEA.. but they annoyed me along the way.

I listened to the audiobook and the narration was okay. Not my favorite but it wasn't terrible.

I got this book from netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Introvert’s Guide to online Dating
by Emma Hart

Once again Emma has managed to write a great book. I have love every one of her books so far none has disappointed. Tori and Coltons story was simply put a war between love and hate. Tori always thought she hated Colt but turned out she absolutely did not and secretly was in love with him but does he return her feelings? To Colton Tori is just what he needs but is afraid that if he lets her know that he is more interested then he leads on to be she will be running for the hills and fast. They have to navigate their feelings for each other with out hurting and they are both terrible at talking to each other. They are so cute together. I cannot wait for London’s book as well as Piper’s and I hope we get a book for Oliver as well. This book was great just one tiny bit dissatisfied that the end basically focused on Josh and Kinsley. I wanted more for them.

I received an audiobook version of this book from NetGalley and Dreamscape Media in exchange for a honest review.

This romcom story revolves around Tori and Colten... friends with benefits that develop more feelings and conflicts ensues. I disliked the main characters and felt the entire book was full of different ways they could tell each other how much they disliked the other one. Everything felt forced and it was hard to finish. The title was completely irrelevant to the book - there was no online dating involved and no evidence of being introverted... the characters just repeated how much they were annoyed when others were in their presence.

This is an adorable and plausible contemporary romance. This is what happens when not-so friends with benefits have feelings. It’s sweet and funny, and the recording was entertaining. Thank you for the opportunity to listen to this book, I enjoyed it.

I have received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The Introvert's Guide to Online Dating was a pretty easy romcom to listen to. In it, you will meet Colton and Tori. They are definitely friends with benefits but they sneak around their friends instead of just letting them know what was going on. Of course, they find out because their feelings for one another were pretty freaking obvious to anyone who isn't, or is, blind.

The romance had enough drama in it that I wasn't completely annoyed with how the characters were handling things. I'll admit, though, that I did just want them to come out clean with their feelings pretty early one. The whole love/hate thing was just weird since we already knew they had amazing chemistry together. But I guess I can't really complain since the sexual tension was just as yummy (to me).

In the end, this was a very quick book to devour. It gave you characters that were pretty easy to like and eventually fall in love with. Plus, the ending was pretty freaking cute and all I'm going to say is - I think there's some baby fever (for a certain character).

Tori's best friend is pushing her to get a boyfriend, with the rest of her friends settled down. However, Tori has been secretly sleeping with her best friend's brother, Colton, for the past 6 months. Colton's sister has also been pushing him to try online dating. Will Tori and Colton admit their feelings to each other or give up their hook-ups to give online dating a go?

This story is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. I really did not get any impression of the characters in this book having a personality; they just want to have sex and razz their friends.. Based on the title, Tori is apparently an introvert, but I never got that opinion from anything she did in the book, apart from one instance of talking about how she didn't like people showing up at her door unannounced. Also, the online dating mentioned in the title barely happened, too. In fact, there wasn't much of a plot to the story at all. Tori and Colton's constant bickering was seriously exhausting.

Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me an audio ARC of this book.

This is the kind of content I look for if I am ever in the mood for the mythical romantic comedy or rom-com.
The audiobook narrators really elevate this story to another level. While it is featured with tropes and situations that are not new to voracious romance readers, the length, humor, and narrators made it thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. Even when characters would be annoying they would feel real and endearing. They weren't cruel and mean spirited and miscommunications didn't take days or weeks to resolve which is always refreshing. You can have misunderstandings and miscommunication in romances. However, to make it the black out moment, the 3rd act break up, or the reason they separate for a long period of time, it's incredibly tired and overdone. I feel like t here can be a balance made moving forward to show realistic depictions in contemporary romances but with none of the toxicity.

I also feel like this book would have been even more enjoyable if I had read the first 3 in the series. It didn't ruin my experience but I feel like I could have gotten a little more backstory.
I'm definitely adding the first 3 audiobooks to my TBR.

Thank you to the publisher for this audio ARC

Beeeeep...that’s the sound of this book flatlining. As seems to be the case with most of Hart’s books, they’re just a collection of “sassy” conversations, gratuitous swearing, and no action. There’s barely a plot, and the characters are indistinguishable from any others in her series or collections. The book isn’t even about an introvert, and hardly touches on online dating. Sigh.

Unfortunately the narration was pretty bad too—lots of over-enunciation.
