Wow, what an interesting perspective on the black church and the intersection of sexuality within the black church. This book provides some interesting dialogue. Interestingly, the church is supposed to be open to all but many "practices" with the black church will actually push people out. In addition, this has caused undue hurt & harm. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book .It gives you food for thought.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It sheds light on things church folk feel they have to hide and shun. It explores the common sexual desires that some church-going women have but have been told to rebuke in the name of Christianity. I love how candid and vivid the stories were. I hope church folk read this and decide to live out loud and proud.

Everyone who attends church or has an interest in religion should read this book. The author's depth of knowledge and unabashedness to tackle the hard subjects will draw you in and keep your focus. So much history, tradition, secrets and hypocrisy.

Some will be triggered especially if you experienced church hurt. An amazing read. Maybe this can be a part of Henry Gates series on the Black Church.
