I immediately warmed to Brooke because she appeared to be an intensive workaholic; a strong, powerful, single female. It felt sad that she had grown so far apart form her Sister Rhiannon; Rhianna came across as the most dreadful snob – although a sudden change in her circumstances affected the whole family. Their Mum, Janey, has been single for two long and I could understand why she might like some male company again.

I felt for Brooke, as the future of their family pub was looking most uncertain, and a chain was trying to buy the family out. The pub meant everything to Brooke, but they desperately needed to do something as a family to improve the finances of the business.

Rhianna – despite her snobbery, deep down she was a family woman and I hoped that she could once more settle into the arms of her wider family.

Hayden brought a breath of fresh air to the pub, although as a single Father, struggling to make ends meet, he had his own issues to deal with.

I really found myself hoping that as a team, they could do something together to improve both the finances of the pub and the inter-family dynamics. As for Hayden, I hoped that he could ameliorate both his finances and that of the pub, and perhaps even have a bit of love brought into his life. It just felt as though he deserved more from life. Another person who deserved mire was Janey. Read the book fir yourself to discover her wonderful surprise!

I thought that this book dealt with some huge issues, with the utmost empathy. These included starting to date again in later life, after bereavement, marital issues and family disagreements. I thought the book would offer both encouragement and empathy to anyone in the same kind of situations. Above all the book dealt with the strength of family; it showed how strong families should be, putting them above all else. I appreciated this.

Rhianna and Brooke are great characters who have felt relatable and realistic. I love how different they are and found they have definitely kept me entertained.

The cover of this book is absolutely gorgeous. It’s eye catching and one that makes you want to pick this book up and delve in.

I have devoured this book in just one sitting, completely unwilling to put this down. It is a truly fantastic book which is well written and entertaining. I have read all of Lisa Swift’s books and already eagerly anticipating more.

I note that other reviewers have described this book as a light, pleasant read and the plot suggests this will be the case. I have not read any other books in the series, but I agree that it can be read as a standalone - at least as far as the 20% I read. The interactions with all the children are lovely, but I could not get past the prevailing use of strong language; this is not the way I or anyone I know speaks, and as it adds nothing to the story it is unnecessary. I didn't like it enough to read any more.

I loved this story so much! Thank you NetGalley for my Ebook, The Sister Pact by Lisa Swift. What an uplifting, light yet substantial read. I fell in love with the two sisters that couldn't be any more different and the mother that was unconventional. The ending was absolutely perfect. I smiled through the entire book and was sad when it ended. I highly recommend reading this book. I didn't even realize it was a third book in a series. It was perfect as a standalone.

A lovely book based around a family of women and the pub they love but are in danger of losing. Romance is central to the story but we also see the effects of a controlling marriage and how it damages confidence and self esteem, I was willing Rhianna to fight back! The ups and downs of the sister relationship are very well done, and in the end it's love and family that matter more than anything else.

Lisa Swift is just an absolute queen of this genre. I have been hooked on this one from the very beginning and I love the fact that Lisa Swift is able to include humour laced throughout the book that always fits so well. It never feels forced, only natural and well-placed. She has the incredible ability to make you laugh out loud whilst still warming your heart and making the characters and story line appear believable.

Speaking of characters, I love the vibrant and lively mix of characters we meet in this book. I was definitely a big fan of Brooke’s straight away, and she came across as someone who was very family-orientated, selfless and hard-working. Her sister, Rhianna, appears as the polar opposite. At first, she seems selfish, controlling and lazy. However, I did warm to her more as I learnt more about her and her story.

There are many different strands to this story which make it very gripping. I loved the family dynamics and drama between the sisters and the twists I didn’t see coming in relation to that. The pub from the beginning is something that felt very sacred to me, I suppose probably because that how it feels to Brooke. The development of the relationship between Brooke and Hayden also felt very natural and at times was a lot of fun to read about.

This is a stunning book that has left me feeling fuzzy, entertained and uplifted. Lisa Swift has produced another jewel of a book and if I could give it more than 5 stars, I certainly would. This author’s work is perfect for fans of Milly Johnson and Jill Mansell.

A rom-com that involves a family and we get to see how their relationships are. The two sisters, Brooke and Rhianna have a fraught relationship. As the story develops we discover why they are as they are and why they think about the family home as they do too. I did think it was interesting to see how these siblings saw each other and also how it was different to how they saw themselves. All three of these characters are complex, memorable and written with plenty of depth to make them relatable and realistic.
A story that has a lot of lighter moments and romance to counteract against the darker moments in the book. This ensures the reader doesn't get bogged down but comes away from the book feeling entertained and like we have new friends to return to.

Anytime I see a book about siters I want to read it.
Brooke Padgett is the Landlady of the Highwayman's Drop public house alongside her mother Janey. Rhianna Garrett is Brooke’s older sister, and she has come after she discovers her husbands has some bad choices in his life.
The Highwayman’s Drop is having trouble and the three women are determined to fix the problems. They are going to have to overcome a lot to do that and connect as sister’s and family again.
Can this be possible for the three of them to stick together and make things the way should be?
The author made me really care about these women and what happens in this easy-to-read book. This is a book filled with so much that you can not help but feel a lot as you read it.

I have been a fan of Lisa’s work for a while now. I have read, loved and reviewed each and every book that she has released to date. I read the synopsis for ‘The Sister Pact’ and it certainly sounded like the sort of book that I have come to expect from Lisa- a fun, warm hearted and ultimately uplifting read. Well ‘The Sister Pact’ certainly ticked all of those boxes and more. I thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘The Sister Pact’ but more about that in a bit.
I must admit that I took to the characters of Brooke and her mother Janey. It took me a little longer to take to the character of Rhianna. Brooke and Rhianna are sisters and a bit like ‘chalk and cheese’. They love each other but fireworks tend to erupt when the pair of them are together. Brooke is a down to earth young lass, who is proud of her roots and of the pub that she part owns with Rhianna and Janey. Rhianna is a bit like Hyacinth Bucket from that comedy programme ‘Keeping Up Appearances’. She thinks that she is better than she actually is and has lots of airs and graces. Plus she seems to be a tad ashamed of her roots and tries to forget them. Janey is mother to Brooke and Rhianna and often has to jump in between the girls to act as referee. Janey is still grieving the loss of her husband, who is also the father to both girls. However Janey realises that now is the time to move on with her life. All three ladies also have to fight to save the pub from being taken over by a pub chain. I kept everything crossed that all three ladies would find the happy ever after endings that they all deserved. What happens? Well for the answer to that question and so much more you are just going to have to read the book for yourselves to find out as I am not going to tell you.
It took me no time at all to get into ‘The Sister Pact’. In fact by the time I got to the bottom of the first page, I knew that I was going to be in for a treat and then some. I found reading ‘The Sister Pact’ to be extremely addictive. I would pick the book up only intending to read a couple of chapters to fill in the odd half hour but I would become so wrapped up in the story and the lives of the three lead characters that I would still be sat there reading several chapters and an hour or so later. I soon reached the end of the book and I had to bid farewell to the three ladies. ‘The Sister Pact’ is one of those stories, which will stay with me for a long time to come. I loved everything about ‘The Sister Pact’.
‘The Sister Pact’ is superbly written but that’s true of all of Lisa’s books. Lisa has one of those writing styles that is easy to get used to and easy to get along with. In fact reading one of Lisa’s books feels more like a chat between friends rather than reading a book. I hope that makes sense. For me, the story hit the ground running and maintained a fairly settled pace throughout. Lisa clearly cares about her characters and this shines through in the way in which she describes them so vividly and realistically. The story has its serious moments but there’s also a lot of fun and humour and ultimately when you reach the end of the story you will be left feeling like you have had a ‘hug from a mug’ in that you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I felt as though I was part of the story myself which is all thanks to Lisa’s very vivid and realistic writing style.
In short, I thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘The Sister Pact’ and I would recommend it to other readers. I will certainly be reading more of Lisa’s work in the future. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 5* out of 5*.

I really enjoyed this read! A delightful, light-hearted read based on two very different sisters coming together to help their mum, in a picaresque village in Yorkshire.

Comical moments, mixed with a satisfying plot pace, based on love and loss, this is a great read with three main complex characters. Ideal for anyone who enjoys character analysis. Written with depth, Lisa Swift has created some very memorable characters which kept me engaged and entertained throughout. I finished this with a smile on my face!

I recommend this book to anyone who needs a mood boost and a little bit of happiness in their life.

Brilliant, loved it and read it in pretty much one go, I didnt want to leave the story. I think my husband thought I was mad sat chuckling to myself while I was reading.

If you are looking for a laugh out loud uplifting story, then this is it. Two sisters whose lives couldn't be any more different, find themselves living back under the same roof where they grew up. Brooke and her mother are already landladies of their family owned pub and are desperately trying to keep it that way. Rhianna returns to the pub with her kids from her very comfortable lifestyle, after finding out about her husbands infidelity. Sparks soon start to fly between the sisters over all manner of things, the most important being the selling of the pub. This book is brilliantly written and deals with love, loss and several other matters in a beautiful way. I really do recommend reading this book.

I did enjoy this book, the two sisters were very well written and likable, I think I could have done with reading the first two, but the back stories were there so it didn't take anything away from the story, this was my first from this author but not the last

When I started reading this book, I didn't realise that it was part of a series - personally I feel that it could easily be read as a standalone. This is a light read, but I struggled to get into it. The characters are all well-written and well developed, but can they all live together? That is up to you to find out....

Lisa Swift does a great job of creating two sisters who seem so different but are still sisters at heart. From the early interactions between Rhianna and Brooke it was clear it was going to be an uphill battle in order for these two women to reclaim the closeness they had as children. I was glad to see Brooke become more comfortable with her niece and nephew and open up to being around kids. I will say that I got so mad at Brooke towards the end when she overreacts to the situation with Hayden and then refuses to listen to Rhianna's explanations about Nick. In those two scenes she is pretty much the queen of self-sabotage. My heart broke a little over Rhianna's letter to Brooke and then her agreement to get plastic surgery when her husband asked. She had been making such progress in becoming a more independent woman and to see her fall right back into her old patterns was so disappointing. My frustration with both Brooke and Rhianna was, thankfully, very quickly brought to an end when they take steps to correct their mistakes. I especially like Rhianna's final confrontation with James and what she did to his suits (it was just the right amount of vindictiveness). Hayden may be the most forgiving and patient man on earth, which is lucky for Brooke. The side story with Janey and Martin was sweet and such a good example for her daughters. I think my favorite part of the ending was that Rhianna was still single. I want to see her happy and to find someone worthy of her, but she has a lot to work out and jumping right back into a relationship probably wouldn't have been a great idea.

I’ve loved reading Lisa’s books and the same goes for this one.

All three female characters in the story were strong, well developed and equally stubborn. The story was well written and realistic.

Brooke is Landlady of the Highwayman's Drop public house along with her mother Janey. But her older sister Older sister Rhianna has moved back into the pub after finding out about her husbands other interests.

Will they all be able to live together without arguments, in order to help save the pub which is under threat as well as their relationships?

The sister pact has to be one of my favorite reads so far! I didn’t think I would like this one as much as I did, but it is like a war cozy hug. It’s about two sister and their mother and how they come together to help each other after the loss of their patriarch father. It also has romance sprinkled in as well. It was neat reading about the three different perspectives of the family and how we are similar in ways we never thought and it is never to late to find love or start over!
