Holy guacamole, Batman! Wow! Wow Wow Wow Wow Wow! I have no words. I’ll have to come back later to see if I can form coherent thought for my review of this incredible book.
**two days later [yes, really]**
I am still not sure I have the words to describe how much I loved this book, even days after finishing. This is the kind of book that leaves you with a book hangover; I don’t really want to pick up anything else! Normally when I love a book this book, I write a “letter review,” to make it even more personal. So without further adieu—
Dear Traci, Sian, Paige, and A.L.,
I LOVED YOUR BOOK SO MUCH!! Here’s the thing: I’ve read books written by each of you and have loved them. You’re all great writers. When I heard you were collaborating on a book, I got SOOO excited! It was just bound to be amazing, right? Well, you went above and beyond even my imaginings. This book really is incredible!
I must also applaud you with how seamlessly it was written. If I hadn’t known it was written by multiple people, I never would have guessed. There were no holes, no major change in voice or character. I’m certain that to a lot of work and planning on your part and you can color me impressed.
Each of the characters were well-written and pulled something out of me. I felt something for each of them. First, let me just say that Traci can write a villain! After every segment with Gunnar, I was on the edge of my seat. Once, I even had to stop myself from yelling, “Open the door!! He’s spying on you!” because I was so immersed. So kuddos!
But you all know how to write some fantastic heroes as well. I loved that you were able to give me a few quirks for each person, as well as enough of their backstories that I fully invested in their current story. I loved the strong family thread! Having grown up with a pretty tight-knit extended family, I love reading about families of cousins being friends. Watching these three cousins get to know one another and become close was just so special.
My heart broke for Karl, Ingrid, and Anna. Their story was just so sad. I loved how snippets of what happened for them came through Tess, Cole, and Anna II’s stories. And as a fan of romance, I also really enjoyed the threads of romance weaves throughout, especially between Anna and Beckett (I really like Beckett). Oh! And Bram is basically the coolest dude. I really like him, as well.
The story was told so well. I loved how fast paced and suspenseful it was, without leaving me feeling like things were missing. *sigh* It was just so good. I think I need to read it again.
Have I sufficiently expressed my love for this book? Because I really want you all to understand just how much I loved it! It was truly a phenomenal read. I am impressed and plan on pushing this book on anyone and everyone. It’s amazing.
As my friend Meredith would say, it deserves all the chef’s kisses. As Tasha would say, ALLL the stars! As Mandy and Marilee have said, this is a top read of 2021 for me, and it has some stiff competition. Basically, I just really love your book. Like really really love it.
Your gushing fan,
Jessica

**Many thanks to the authors and publisher for the advance copy, which I was offered with the option to review. These are my very own thoughts.

Wow! This book was amazing. When you consider there are four authors writing this story, you wonder how they could manage such a flawless novel.
1940 Austria. The Nazi's are pushing Leopold Lang to join forces. He is against everything they stand for. His efforts to get his three children safely away, leaving their estate, Falcon Point behind, before the Nazi's completely take over.

Karl, Ingrid, and Ana, being separated during their escape, lose touch and wonder if any of the siblings survived. Decades later, after searching for years for relatives, the descendants of Leopold meet up. The drama and suspense is heart pounding.

This is such a gripping well written story. I commend Traci Hunter Abramson, Sian Ann Bessey, Paige Edwards, and A. L. Sowards. It was a story unlike any I have ever read. Historical and contemporary fiction. Clean, absorbing and compelling.

I received a complimentary ebook copy from the publisher, through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This book is a gem. I was honestly a bit hesitant when I saw that it was written by 4 authors. I was wondering if it would come together well and maintain a unified style. I need not have worried. In fact, I would say these 4 authors make up quite the dream team. I enjoyed every page of this fast paced story. The plot was quite unique. While I wouldn't call this a dual timeline, the book opens in the 1940s (and boy was this part wonderfully written!), then moves to modern day shortly thereafter and remains so to the end of the novel. The way the plotlines of the 4 modern day Lang family members amalgamate was well done. I'd recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance, suspense, contemporary or even historical fiction. I had never read any of these authors until now, but will be looking into each of their prior works. I heard a rumor of sequel, and I certainly hope it's true!

4.5
When you think of a tree, in your mind do picture a tree or see the word tree?
.
I definitely see the word. Very rarely do I picture anything. I can read an entire book and never see a character in my mind. I've never been good at that and so I rarely spend time trying. I have vague images, like those faceless family paintings that are so popular right now. So hair color and gender basically 🤣 Don't get me wrong, I can still get completely pulled into a book, I just rarely *see* it. Does that make sense?
Anyways, this book had me picturing things. I read this book as if a movie was playing out in my mind. It was pretty amazing. I love history and architecture and art so reading descriptions of Falcon Point was awesome. Besides the beautiful backdrop, this story was pretty exciting. Some suspense, some romance, some twists- for the reader as well as the characters. My favorite character was Cole, so Traci, I really hope you write something else about him. He is tough and swoony and good and I'm a fan.

I LITERALLY lost sleep over this one and I don’t regret a second of it. When I saw this book was written by several different authors I assumed it was a compilation of short stories. Remember, I don’t ever read descriptions(I like the element of surprise). I was pleasantly surprised to find that wasn’t the case with this book. I’m not sure how Traci Hunter Abramson, Sian Ann Bessey, Paige Edwards, & A. L. Sowards were able to write such a cohesive piece but they’ve done it! And I am here for it because it’s so good!! I couldn’t stop reading. I kept me intrigued the entire time!

Oh my, what a story!! When I began reading, I thought it would be a series of novellas, like an anthology. At chapter 14, everything changed. I went back to the acknowledgements and realized the characters were divided up by the authors. I had never heard of this concept before. I was so captivated by the story and intrigued with what was to happen next, I read on and could not put it down. The plot was so detailed and obviously well planned and researched. The characters were phenomenal! Wow! The suspense, conspiracy, mystery, and the sweet romance that was blossoming was incredible. I can’t say enough good about this book. I loved it. Even though, this old mind of mine, had to reread a couple of spots, just to get the characters straight. I still give it a solid 5 ⭐️’s! Perfection, well done to these amazing authors!

WOW! This book was amazing. I was pulled in from the very beginning and could see this making an incredible movie. When I first saw there were four authors I assumed this was an anthology, but I was so wrong. It was an amazing story written by very talented authors who put these characters together seamlessly. There is so much mystery, intrigue and suspense that it is hard to out it down. I hated when life interfered and I had to step away for a time. The characters are wonderful and you can't help but become attached to the Lang's and cheer them on. This is one of the best books I've read this year. I honestly wish there had been an epilogue, but it did have a nice ending.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through Netgalley and this is my honest review.

Talk about riveting! This is one of those stories that blends intrigue, adventure and romance very well. It's all there, but in a complementary way. Honestly, that should not be a surprise considering the author powerhouse behind the work. There is a lot of experience and skill behind each of these chapters, and it shows. I am in awe that this was a collaborative work because of its cohesion. There is one voice telling the story, and it shows rather than tells in a BIG way. I'll admit to having a bit of a struggle keeping up with so many primary characters (rather than only one or two main characters), but the authors do a great job of giving them all a unique voice as well as fully fleshed out personas. And can I just say THAT FINALE! WOW. This book is like watching an adventure movie, and that ending was absolutely a grand finale. This is one story that you WILL lose sleep over, and it will be totally worth it.

A gripping tale! I read it in one sitting, I couldn't put it down! Worth the loss of sleep! Action packed from the very first page until the end! I can't wait to see what they do next!

I received an ARC through Netgalley and all opinions are my own.

This was a great book! I didn't quite know what to expect since it was written by four authors, but I love that it wasn't a collection of novellas but one complete story told from multiple viewpoints. I became invested in the Lang family after reading just a couple chapters, and I enjoyed how the mystery played out and how all the heirs all came to find Falcon Point. I would definitely recommend this book!

This novel has a perfect combination of mystery, action, suspense, and romance. From the very first page I was engrossed and intrigued with the story. There is a historical element to it that was very nicely done. It starts out in Austria in the 1940s as a family is separated by the events that are unfurling do to the war that is going on and the heavy presence of Nazi's. The story then switches to present time through dual point of views. One of which is actually the antagonist! It's rarely ever done in books I've read that the antagonist has a point of view.

Through this story the defendants of the separated family come together to try to solve and piece together what happened to their families treasure. And if that wasn't complicated enough, they are all being hunted by someone that doesn't want them gaining answers. Someone who as everything to lose if the group succeeds in their search for the truth and answers to long unanswered questions.

There is a wonderful fluidity to the writing that had me forgetting four people worked together to write this novel. This story had me on the edge of my seat for wanting answers and in anticipation for what could happen next. I couldn't get enough of these characters, and truly love what they brought to the story.

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of this novel to review.

Wow! If there’s one book that I would highly recommend reading this year, it’s Heirs of Falcon Point! From the very first chapter I was hooked and found it difficult to put down. The heart-stopping suspense is ongoing with nonstop twists and turns. Then there’s the sizzlingly palpable romantic tension between the characters in addition to the intriguing mystery of what happened to the original heirs and treasure of Falcon Point.

Each of the stories and characters is woven seamlessly throughout by four brilliant writers. It’s honestly difficult to tell who wrote what and feels like it was written by just one person because all the elements of the story flow together so well.

The plot and setting drew me in immediately. The story takes place in both the tumultuous times of WWII and present day Austria. When an old friend shows up at the Lang family’s beautiful estate in Nazi occupied Austria, he’s not there for a social call. Forced with an impossible decision “betray his country or betray his conscience,” Leopold Lang makes an impossible decision, one that will cost him everything and potentially separate his family forever. Now 80 years later and spread throughout the world, the descendants of the original heirs are drawn back together by the irresistible mystery and hidden treasure of Falcon Point. Not everyone wants the true heirs to be found though and it’s a fast-paced high stakes race to solve the mystery before it’s too late.

Not only was the story amazing, but I loved all of the characters as well and found it difficult to let go when the story ended. I found myself on the edge of my seat many times wondering how the characters would make it through. Yet, despite the suspense, there are moments of humor and several sweet romances that endeared me to the characters even more.

Filled with suspense, nonstop action, captivating romances, and a compelling mystery, this quick read is definitely a five star novel I wholeheartedly recommend. My hope is that this is not the end of the story because I definitely want to know what happens next for these characters! Thanks to the authors and Covenant Communications for providing me with an advanced digital copy through NetGalley. All opinions are my own and I was not required to give a positive review.

This book is quite a ride! It starts off with a bang and never really slows down at all, which was so exciting! I absolutely loved the mystery of what happened to the Lang family and how in the world they were going to reclaim all their ancestors had lost in WWII. I love that this can be read as a standalone and everything wraps up nicely at the end. An entertaining read!

The first few chapters were intriguing and quite thrilling especially knowing that era. I appreciate how the authors wrote this in a very cohesive way. You wouldn’t see that different authors wrote the book. They talked about how they would connect the past from the present. The interweaving of the ‘present’ characters was my favorite part. Although I would have wanted more chapters for some of the characters, I guess it would be too long. I can’t wait for these authors to write another story together. I would recommend this book to anyone interested to read a clean, mystery, a bit of history and romance kind of book.

Thank you to Covenant Communications for allowing me to give an honest review of this arc from Netgalley. :)

Four fantastic authors collaborated on this absorbing tale set in Austria during WWII and contemporary times. I’m sure it took a lot of cooperation and planning, because the different parts of the story and the characters were seamlessly merged. With historical elements, suspense, action, a dash of romance, and inspiration, this tale will appeal to many readers. It’s well-paced, full of twists and turns, and populated by colorful, realistic, well-drawn characters. The Lang family and their descendants are exemplary in their love of history and family, and their story is absorbing and poignant.

“But sometimes courage wasn’t about fighting. Sometimes courage was about letting go of what was most wanted for oneself and, instead, fulfilling one’s duty.”

I’ve read other books by some of these authors and enjoyed them very much. I’m eager to read more of their works. 4.5 stars

The first 14 chapters hooked me in so fast! I wanted more of Karl, Ingrid and Anna’s original story.
I loved Beckett and Anna’s relationship, that was really fun to read. The different writers voices was fun to see in the book.
WWII fiction is one of my favorite categories so adding this to that genre of books is so good!

I was drawn in from page one until the end! I haven’t read a book that had me on the edge of my seat due to the intense suspense in quite some time. My only complaint is that I didn’t want it to end! If I could give this more than 5 stars I would.

Heirs of Falcon Point

By Traci Hunter Abramson, Sian Ann Bessey, Paige Edwards & A.L. Sowards

Covenant Communications

Rated: 4

Back of the Book: “In the early days of World War II, the Lang family lost everything. Eighty years later, it’s time to take it back.

The Nazis have taken control of Austria, and wealthy widower Leopold Lang faces a difficult decision: join the ranks of the foreign power that has taken over his homeland or flee with his children to safety. Leopold makes his choice—but too late. His family is ripped apart, never to be reunited. But decades later, fate brings together the descendants of this broken dynasty in the place where it all began—Falcon Point.

Anna, Cole, and Tess have never met, each relying on fractured pieces of information to understand their Austrian heritage. But when unforeseen opportunities draw these Lang cousins to Falcon Point, they soon discover they are not alone in their quest to claim the coveted property and the fabled treasure hidden within. Unfortunately, another claimant, one with a much darker heritage, is determined to eliminate the Lang family once and for all.”

My Thoughts: Goodness this was written by multiple talented women! The cohesiveness of the story and characters was pretty amazing! There was no putting this book down once I started reading either. If you are looking for a suspenseful WW2 romance this is it!

Inspiring Thoughts: “‘Life is full of surprises and hardships, Karl. Plan for what you can, and do your best to get back up when you’re knocked over by something unexpected.’” - So, forgive me but I couldn’t help but start singing the song “I Get Knocked Down” by Chumbawamba

here. My dad used to sing it to me if I complained about life's hardships.

“‘I’m not afraid to be a solider.’ Papa folded his arms. ‘But for whom will you fight?’... ‘Which is worse? Betraying your conscience or betraying your country?’” -What a tough time this must have been for those who felt they could not fight with the Nazis.

“’ Genskal has strict sexual harassment policies. See that this never happens again, or I will file charges against you. Is that clear?’” - It was kind of refreshing to see a male put in a position to fight for his virtue. It's so common to see a woman put in a compromising position and I was glad to see a male's perspective in this situation.

I received an ARC copy of this book via NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review shared here.
