WHAT A DELIGHT. A cactus doesn't see his own value, but his desert dwelling friends tell him all the ways God made him awesome. I adore the illustrations and the message is even better.

I really loved the concept of you are special because you are you. And that you have your own special purpose in life because that is the way God intended. The illustrations in this book were adorable and I loved how the author had Sammy imagining himself as a cactus but in the other forms. He wanted to be a cactus but still be able to move and play. Super cute - I will probably buy for my daughter!

The first few pages of this book were a little confusing - I thought Sammy was one of the kids, when Sammy is in fact the cactus. I was also confused as to why the cactus had a name but all the animals are just "Jackrabbit" or "Mama Dove" - but I'm probably overthinking it as an adult, haha! I absolutely love the message, though.
