A cute holiday rom com. It can be difficult to get identical twin stories right but Knox managed to do it well. The characters felt well rounded and pleasant and I was rooting for them to get together with their respective love interests. I will read another Maggie Knox book.

I always want to enjoy these cute, cozy holiday-themed books but then am always let down by their cheesiness and predictability. But this isn’t a criticism of the book itself, just my personal preference.

This is one of my top Christmas reads! Would read again and again - an adorable and quirky story with the cozy elements of Christmas!

"The Holiday Swap" by Maggie Knox provides a delightful escape into a world of humor and unexpected connections. The story follows the journey of two women, Hadley and Avery, who find themselves in a whimsical holiday swap. This light-hearted and charming tale explores the joys and challenges of stepping into someone else's shoes, quite literally, as the two protagonists exchange not only homes but also lives. Knox's witty and engaging writing style keeps the reader entertained as Hadley and Avery navigate the complexities of each other's worlds, uncovering secrets, and forging new relationships. While the premise is intriguing and the character development is well-done, the plot occasionally feels predictable, and some of the supporting characters lack depth. However, "The Holiday Swap" still offers a heartwarming and enjoyable read, perfect for those seeking a fun and cozy escape into the world of holiday adventures.

I would like to express my appreciation to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book. "The Holiday Swap" is a three-star novel that delivers a mix of laughter, love, and the spirit of the holiday season, making it a worthwhile choice for readers in search of a light and entertaining contemporary romance.

enjoyed watching twins Cass & Charlie navigate their sisters lives. While they both bake for a living, it was fun to see how they set out on different paths. Be ready to get in the baking mood, baking is a huge part of this story!

Of course, twice the female leads means twice the Hallmark worthy boyfriends! I’d happily cuddle up with both Jake & Miguel!

This book hit all the marks for me! Twins, cooking, firefighter, doctor! I loved this cute story of twins swapping places and the ensuing love story! Five stars for making my reading and relaxing weekend so much fun!

This was a cute closed door Hallmark Christmas rom-com! I enjoyed the baking and the sister switch, but I found it repetitive and a tad frustrating at times - like really can someone can actually "miss" their sister's phone calls that many times?
I enjoy the authors of this book and would definitely try another one of theirs!

Holiday Rom-Com with messy family drama at its finest. This is now one of my favourite holiday books. The snowy atmosphere and festive activities in this are perfect for putting anyone in the Christmas spirit! I listened to this on audiobook, which was great btw, and I was listening whenever I could! I would have marathoned this book but unfortunately I had to adult and actually do other things.

I can’t even put into words how much I loved these two characters together. Ellie and Jack’s relationship was definitely complicated, but I loved it. You could feel the chemistry and the love between them, even after such a short amount of time together.

The friendships were so heartwarming and genuine.

I also laughed out loud SO many times! Even the smallest parts have witty responses and put a smile on my face.

This book also deals a lot with fear of failure and some mental health issues. I really love the lesson in this. That everyone falls, but you get back up and you keep trying. If you fall, it doesn’t mean you fail. You only truly fail if you don’t try.

5⭐️s for me! Highly recommend for anyone’s holiday TBR.

Honestly, it felt a bit like a hallmark movie put into literary form. I initially enjoyed reading it but it began to feel a bit too cliched for me halfway through. I think that, alongside the repetition, were probably the reasons why I became more annoyed than interested in the storyline and eventually stopped caring about the novel. I will say that I did like the food/baking content within the novel and the, somewhat present, cozy Christmas vibes, In the end, while I did not fully like "The Holiday Swap," I do think others might love it.

Charlie loses her sense of smell and taste... rather critical when you run your own baking show! So in steps Cass, her identical twin sister, who is also looking to switch up her life to help save the day.
While living each other's lives they understand the nuances and difficulties each one has been dealing with in life, including love.
Will they get back to their own lives before they open presents?

My first book of 2023 was The Holiday Swap by the Canadian duo Maggie Knox, and it was meh.

I found it to be improbable and cheesy. Not the good kind of Hallmark Christmas cheesiness, either.

It also lacked excitement. Nothing made me want to pick it up except that I was reading it for a book challenge. Otherwise, I would have DNF'd it.

I did like the baking aspects and the parts with Jake's grandmother. I wish there were more scenes with her because she was the most interesting character.

Overall, it was just okay. 🤷🏼‍♀️

This is delightful, easy, comfort reading. It's rather like a Hallmark Christmas movie in a book. So if you are prepared to accept all those tropes, plus the well-worn story of twins switching places, you will very much enjoy this book. I was just in the right mood when I read it, so I enjoyed it thoroughly.

This was a fun season romantic comedy. It was super easy read and I read it in one sitting. Loved the idea of a twin swap, but that trope can be a little over done. Loved the dual POV and it felt like a hallmark movie in book form! Enjoyed!

The Holiday Swap is a heartfelt romantic comedy that is reminiscent of a good Hallmark movie. While an overly positive story plays out, there are some twists and turns that had me unable to put the book down.
The story revolves around twins, Charlie and Cass, who switch roles the week before Christmas. As both sisters discover parts of themselves that were long forgotten and missing, you can't help but feel attached and connected to both characters. A truly heartwarming story about the bond between twin sisters and the magic of Christmas.
I would highly recommend to anyone who loves a good romantic comedy! Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

"Maggie Knox" is actually two Canadian authors who collaborated on this delicious little rom com about a Food Network baking show with a Parent Trap type twist.

If, like me, you wish to lean into the cheesiness of Hallmark movies but just cannot get past the terrible acting, then this is the book for you. It's a nice, fun, light read without any of the eye rolls.

Unfortunately it took me a long time to get around to reading this novel. Too long and I'm a bit mad at myself because this novel was nothing short of delightful!

Although I am reading it late, I have seemed to pick the perfect season to read it in, because its getting me into the holiday spirit.

A Prince and the Pauper style story always brings a smile to my face, but Maggie Knox also brought a lot the laughs, and instead of enjoying one storyline, we get to enjoy two! Including two romances!. It felt like I was reading a Hallmark Movie, and once I started I couldn't put it down until I finished the last page.

Special thanks to NetGalley and PENGUIN GROUP PUTNAM/ G. P. Putnam’s Sons for sharing this digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest opinions.

A fun holiday story that will kickstart your holiday season. These are not my usual genre but I enjoyed this one. It was fun and light and just what I needed in between thrillers

Sometimes I'm in the mood for a lighter, cozy read, and recently when that mood struck, I chose this story.

Overall, this was charming, light &amp; fluffy, and felt like reading a Hallmark Christmas movie.</p>

Between Cass and Charlie's stories, I preferred reading about Charlie's life (pretending to be Cass) in Starlight Peaks the best. I am a sucker for a cute small town setting!

There was nothing that made this a standout read for me, and I found myself losing interest at times, but it was cute. I think fans of cozy romances will quite like this.
