A quirky and fun little cozy murder mystery with a healthy splash of romance. The main character is a perfumer and has a nose for details and a personal stake in solving this particular crime, especially after all signs seem to point to her as the culprit. I enjoyed every minute of this kitschy romp, would recommend.

I LOVE this book so much. It was such a fun and entertaining read. I finish this book in a day, which obviously show how enjoyable this book is. The author, Langley Gray ways of storytelling are really engaging and entertaining, which makes the reading experience so wonderful. This book keeps making me smiling and laughing to the point that my cheeks ache. I'm impressed with the way Nati used scents to determine who the murderer is, although it wasn't a definite proof, the scent did help with the murder investigation.

I'm not familiar with cozy mystery genre, but I fall in love with it after finishing this book. If you're looking for some comfort read, with an interesting mystery and cute romance โ™ก, Knocked Scentsless might be just the perfect book for you. I'm so looking forward to read the second book in the Doused to Death Series and other Langley Gray works.

Nati Butler lives in a small mountain town in Washington - Roslyn. She makes perfume which is her passion and her home is a room above her empty shopfront. She is trying to perfect her signature scent and will remain virtually penniless until then, only just scraping by on her earnings from her job as a barista at Cuppa Cafรฉ. Her husband has left her and life is bleak at the moment, though Nati knows she has reasons to be thankful. Then Joe, a grumpy old bloke who and has coffee in the Cafรฉ every day with 3 friends and his chocolate coloured dog, Salvador and is highly critical of Nati, โ€‹is found dead...

Knocked Scentsless was such a fun, unique, and charming story that I didn't want to put down between chapters. The plot was a good 'un and I loved the characters. Nati is determined to realise her ambition, and it was wonderful to meet her. I liked the addition of the interesting facts about fragrances. This is a series I would love to continue with as Langley Gray's highly addictive storytelling really worked for me. A super, refreshing tale.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from the publisher/ author via NetGalley and this review is my unbiased opinion.

This was a really fun and lighthearted mystery I really really enjoyed it. I really do love mysteries but there is always that singular worry that I wonโ€™t enjoy what Iโ€™m reading or Iโ€™ll hate it. But this was genuinely perfect and I canโ€™t wait to see where else this author goes with her works! This was delightful. 5 out of 5 stars!

A light hearted, slightly nutty but very friendly murder mystery. The tale is very fun, not built on tightening suspense but humourous characters, a generally loveable dog and small town excitement over the dog olympics. The baddies are bad and the goodies are good and a nice and light read follows.

I loved this book!

The cover of this book had me hooked and the story line did the rest. Knocked Scentsless is a fast paced and cosy mystery read, with a dog being the only witness in a strange turn in events.

This quirky read is written brilliantly and aids in it being an easy and enjoyable read.

Simply beautiful, a read that I feel most would enjoy.

A HUGE thank you to Langley Grey and NetGalley for an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book delivers everything it promises, it is the perfect book for a late summer weekend. It has enough excitement to keep up your interest but stays on the slower side.
The setting is great, both the town and its residents were charming, while the dog Olympics is just on the right side of ridiculous. I lover Muriel the most. And of course Owen! He was a great, and I rooted for them. The romance is quite slow burn. as they are preoccupied with other things.
The writing was really readable, I enjoyed the book on a line level, and I especially loved the fragrance angle, the description of the smells were so detailed!

That said, there were a few weaker elements of the book.
For example I cannot understand why a found perfume vial would mean she was the murderer, the whole investigation was a bit wobbly, as in why would the mayor tell her anything about his alibi? Usually it wasn't hard to suspend my disbelief, but there were these moments when I got a bit confused.
Once they think the mayor lies when it was established a chapter ago that what he says is quite probable
and all in all I felt like Nati acted more like a teenager than an actual adult.

Quite enjoyable first in what will hopefully be a long cozy series! Exciting from beginning to end.

Absolutely wonderful, quick read. Iโ€™m pretty new to the cozy mystery genre, but this hit the mark. It was lovely, humorous, with just enough mystery to keep it fun.

I was surprised to find myself enjoy this novel. Part of the reason why I got this book is because of the bulldog on the cover and thankfully, the story didn't disappoint. It started with our resident perfumer, Nati who's busy working on her signature scent when Old Man Joe died, and she was the prime suspect. Enter this dreamy firefighter Owen, whom at first seemed suspicious to me and I go as far to think he might be the killer. But hey, he's just getting close to our girl because he obviously likes her. Nati on the other hand, seems to be either clueless or just ignorant of the signs due to her "priorities". Together they try to figure out whodunnit to clear Nati's name. The chemistry between the two is good, but a bit lacking.

From beginning to end, it was fun and exciting. Got me curious at every page. This cozy read is your perfect match to the rainy weekend.

Thank you to NetGalley, the Publishers and the Author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

This genre of book was a little bit out of my comfort zone, but I ended up really enjoying this. It was a really quick, light murder mystery to read and I loved following the characters on their investigation.

There aren't many twists and turns in the book, but the plot was still enjoyable to follow. I also loved the potential romantic subplot and cannot wait to see how that unfolds in future books in the series!

Also, who doesn't love a cute dog? Sal's antics and the dog competition subplot alongside such a serious situation kept the mood of the book quite light and breezy.

In summary, this was a great quick murder mystery to read, and I can't wait to see other books in the series!

This was such a fun read! I love a good cozy mystery and this was exactly that. The characters were unique and Natiโ€™s ability to find out who the murderer was through scents was a really cool twist on the classic murder mystery. I also found it very fast paced and easy to read. This was the perfect book to end my summer on and Iโ€™m looking forward to more of Nati and Owenโ€™s (who is also an awesome character) adventures.

Knocked Scentless is Quick and Cozy mystery read. In this book we visit town Roslyn where Nati (Female main character) is working in a cafรฉ while perfecting her signature scent so she can finally open her own perfume shop.
As every Barista has to deal with grouchy customer, Nati has to deal with Old Joe, town's self appointed ticking clock and his constant distain towards her.
When in a turn of events, Joe is murdered, Nati ends up being prime suspect.
Luckily Nati has faithful companions like Sal (the pet bulldog) and handsome firefighter Owen.

While I would have liked more character development through the story, there are few things liked.
What I liked:
- Quick Pace
- Salvador the bulldog
- Facts about perfumes
- Base traits of Characters
- A hint of Romance

What I didn't like:
- The young inspector (the character felt unnecessary, as it didn't add either humor or plot to the story)

If you're looking for a fast paced mystery read that you can read while enjoying hot cup of cocoa in cold weather, You should definitely read Knocked scentless.

Nati is an easy character to like. This is a fast paced cozy with a hint of romance. A handsome firefighter and of course a bulldog makes for a fun mystery.

I am a sucker for a good cozy mystery. They are so relaxing and such a light read, I love reading them once in a while.

This started with Nati, a perfumer, being at her rock bottom, she left her ex-husband, her job, her life in a way and came back to a small town trying to make her perfect scent that can make her terrible life easier. But then she discovered there's always a rockier bottom beneath, and she lands in the suspect list for a murder.

Now, she needs to hurry up and find the culprit on her own, else she might end in the jail.

Along with her, are the murdered victim's dog, and Owen, a hot firefighter, who probably has hots for her she's trying her best to overlook.

I really liked how perfumes are talked about in this book.

In all, it was a good light read and I'd love to read the next book in the series!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange of honest review.

First - in all fairness, I am not so sure Iโ€™m in the target audience intended for this book. Iโ€™m something more like target audience adjacent at best maybe. This was also more of a whim type of read for me to give something a little different to try. Aside from enjoying classic cozy mysteries ร  la Agatha Christie once in a while, I really have not read a modern cozy mystery before. So by all means take this review with a grain of salt.

So with that covered, itโ€™s justโ€ฆum, wellโ€ฆtbh KS just veered a little too Hallmark-y side of mystery for me, but again, for all I know this type of take on the modern sub-genre is pretty much par for the course ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ. Just the same, the accusations against her were a stretch & were all a bit too convenient. The heroine was rather flighty and very shouty(??) or it was perhaps simply a very liberal use of exclamation points ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ. Idk, she just never struck me as a 39-year-old woman. Seemed like she had the impulse control of a teen sometimes. What little romance there was felt more akin to a middle school crush. I donโ€™t mean that it shouldโ€™ve been steamy - I understand this aspect of CMs -, but just a little more believably adult wouldโ€™ve been nice.

Be that as it may, I mean it was still ok.

I never felt like I had to labor through it. The writing was pleasant enough. Then there was Sal, in all of his cute little short stature totally stealing the showโ€ฆ& the doggie Olympics. Oh yeah, Salโ€™s an English Bulldog btw. Thatโ€™s right the best character imho was the dog ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ. https://media.giphy.com/media/l396SbpG7USk2iAN2/giphy.gif
Sorry, not sorry ๐Ÿ˜‚. Heโ€™s quite the athlete & the real hero of KS as far as Iโ€™m concerned.

4/5
This was a great one! I really loved this book! It was simple, with not too many characters, a protagonist I loved, and a sexy firefighter next to it. The mystery itself was good, I had no clue who the killer was. Our protagonist Nati has a fallout with Joe, who gets killed. What I loved most is that she identifies people by their smells. She has been a perfumist and still tries to get the perfect scent, but works in a bar so she can eventually start to op her own store. Which helps her figure out the killer. Overall I really enjoyed this would recommend it!

This was a great one! I really loved this book! It was simple, not too many characters, a protagonist I loved and a hunky firefighter next to it. Well I assume he's Hunky.... Anyway! The mystery itself was good, I had no idea who the killer was. Our protagonist Nati has a fall out with Joe, who gets killed. What I loved most is that she identifies people by their smells. She has been a perfumist and still tries to get the perfect scent, but works in a bar so she can eventually start op her own store. That gift helps her to identify the killer, which she needs to do as she herself is the prime suspect!

I really loved this story and I am happy to see a second book is in the making. I really want to continue reading of the adventures of Nati, Owen and Salvador, the dog owned by Joe that now lives with Nati. I would really recommend it if you are looking for a easy and fun read!

Iโ€™m super excited to find this new cozy series with a perfumer for the protagonist! Iโ€™ve studied perfumery and am certified, but to study in France is a dream. Iโ€™m going to live through Nati on that front though. I can see her organ and smell her scents as she describes them. A brilliant use of scent in the genre, Bravo!

Nati followed her dreams and then her heart. Only her nose keeps the dream alive as her heart was shattered when she moved across he country and then her ex left her. But sheโ€™s keeping her perfumery dreams alive and is working on her signature scent.

A local man is unhappy that Nati still hasnโ€™t opened her store, and they have a heated exchange in the local coffeehouse. Itโ€™s not for lack of desire, once Nati prefects her signature scent sheโ€™ll open for business. When the man is murdered, Nati is set up to take the fall and sheโ€™s got to clear her name or end up in jail and never open her shop. With a firefighter and a bulldog, the trio sets out to sniff out a murderer.

The first in a new series and I canโ€™t wait for more scents and mysteries to come!
