I LOVE OLIVIA! She's funny, chaotic, and completely unhinged. Colin's quiet in comparison to her but I love them both so much!!

Sometimes there are authors that just get how to write banter and sexual tension. Lynn Painter is one of them. I absolutely adored Better Than the Movies, so Mr. Wrong Number was a highly anticipated read for me. I loved this book so much, I read it in one sitting.

Olivia's life is falling apart. Her apartment building burned down, she's been laid off and her boyfriend broke up with her. Licking her wounds, she head back home to live with her brother in hopes of figuring out her next step in life. When she gets a wrong number text of "What are you wearing?” Olivia starts a fun text exchange with a mystery man, whose true identity is a shock and threatens to upset the fabric of her messy life.

There's something so special about sitting down to read and being so immersed in the story that you look up and have read more than half the book, but it feels like no time has passed. This is attributed to Painter's ability to write the best banter between characters. Not only are the main character's interactions hysterical, their inner monologues had me laughing out loud.

I adored Oliva's character. She is so full of life and unapologetically unpredictable. I was rooting for her journey from page one, because she's just so likable, relatable, and downright funny. I need a best friend like Oliva. Juxtaposed with Colin's put together life, this opposites attract romance was just what I needed to read at the time. It has all the tropes I love, including forced proximity and brother's best friend. Colin is to die for, because he sees Olivia so clearly, yet he loves her despite her faults and mess. And who knew making a bed was so damn sexy?!?!

I love, love, LOVED this book and am already plotting when I can reread it again. The writing was a breath of fresh air and completely lived up to the hype.

Could not put this book down! As soon as I started reading it I was hooked and wanted to know what was going to happen.
It made me remember how it feels flirting with someone new. All the butterflies and secret smiles when you get a text message. The walls put up by both the MCs and the secrets kept made it that much more real for me.
The female MC was so relatable for me: accident prone, mess maker, when it rains it pours kind of thing! The male MC appeared perfect and definitely stereotyped by the female MC.
I loved how the perspective switched between the male and female MC. The book is truly immersive and I very much enjoyed it!

Let me just start off by saying that I love any romance that mirrors You've Got Mail, which is exactly what Mr. Wrong Number is. This novel was a cute, romantic read and one that I finished pretty quickly. I loved the banter between the two characters and there were scenes that had me actually laughing out loud. The characters had relatable flaws and problems which is what made them so appealing. The shenanigans were almost as good, if not better, than the love scenes. All in all, this was a really fun read and a good way to pass a few afternoons before bed.

This was such a fun and delightful read! I really loved the two main characters and thought their chemistry was magnetic. However, the end felt very fast and I wish the epilogue was a bit longer. I just wanted more of the story and couple, I guess! 4.5 stars

I had such a good time laughing during reading that I finished in one sitting. I wanted to laugh and swoon and that's exactly what I got. Can't wait for more from this author!

This book, despite its pretty cover and being published through one of my all-time favorite publishers, is sadly not one I enjoyed very much.
My biggest problem had to be the writing, which felt clunky and ill-paced throughout most of the book. I simply could not get into it, with the writing deterring me at literally every point, every sentence, every word. The characters, again, not my favorites: they had near to nothing going on for them, were honestly not that interesting to read about, and felt incredibly off-center. The plot felt repetitive and annoying, for lack of more descriptive words. This was unfortunately, one of those books I can honestly say I regret reading.
That said, I will, at some point, try to acquire the book for my library; since tastes differ, and I'm sure even if the book did not exactly suit me, it might be still be someone else's fancy. Thank you to Berkley and NetGalley for the ARC.

Because Mr. Wrong Number is the most sidesplittingly funny, shenanigan-packed, sexual tension-filled book I’ve read in a long, long time. I dare you not to fall in love with Olivia and Colin, but most of all I dare you not to fall in love with Lynn's writing!

I really loved this book! It was so fun and the characters had great chemistry! I loved the alternate povs and the texts vs in person interactions. Just a great book and romance! I definitely want to read more from this author

I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN! I'm a busy working mom but I finished this book within 2 days! The banter in this book is spectacular. The chemistry and sex scenes are great! I loved that I didn't have to wait til the end of the book for the characters to hook up. It is so annoying in contemporary romance books when there is all the buildup but they keep stopping (so unrealistic). This book was just SO WELL written and refreshing. My library will be purchasing a copy of this book. I only have great things to say! If you love the roommates trope or the movie You've Got Mail, this book is your jam!

this was pretty funny for the most part. Sometimes the way things developed felt poorly paced, but on the whole it was fine. Likable leads kept this interesting, and i’m Glad it didn’t try to get too deep.

Olivia has always had a string of bad luck... freak accidents, clumsy mistakes, and embarrassing slip-ups, but she's learned to take most of them in stride. When she has one of her biggest flubs to date, she has to move in with her brother temporarily. Her brother's roommate is an old friend and sworn "enemy" of Olivia's, Colin.

One night Olivia receives a random "what are you wearing?" text obviously sent to the wrong number. Out of boredom, she responds with a cheeky answer and so begins the back and forth between Mr. Wrong Number and Miss Misdial.

The texts range from funny to scandalous to introspective - the banter between the two is delightful. Their text exchanges are so funny and you can definitely feel the spark between them even though their only contact is through text. When it turns out that the "random" misdial isn't so random, Colin must decide if he should chance a relationship by revealing his identity or keep things platonic and risk free by continuing the anonymous texting.

A funny, albeit highly unlikely scenario, Mr. Wrong Number was a light-hearted, easy read that was a perfect distraction to the heaviness of real life. The one thing that bothered me was Olivia's personality... she was meant to be this carefree, uninhibited, free-spirit - but there were times she was just kind of.... gross. for lack of a better word! Like she left empty beer bottles in her room and food trash discarded on her floor... I don't know, that kind of just bordered on too much for me. I get being scattered and disheveled even, but some of her habits were just gross.

Thank you, NetGalley, for the ARC. I have mixed feelings about Mr. Wrong Number. I liked the dynamic between Olivia and Colin and shipped the relationship from the beginning. As the book went on, I became annoyed with Olivia and felt like Colin could really do much better than her. She blamed him for the fact that she got fired, even when she knew her days until the truth came out were numbered. She refused to listen to him and immediately shut down. Then when she learned the truth about Mr. Wrong Number, she once again thought the worst of him. I get that she has been hurt in the past, but she has known him her whole life and not once gave him the benefit of the doubt. I enjoyed the writing and it was a quick read, so I would ultimately give it a low 3 stars.

I have to say, I loved this book! I know it’s another Romcom, but there was something about it that really clicked for me.

Olivia Marshall may be a bit of a hot mess, but she’s an extremely talented writer. After losing her boyfriend, job, and apartment (due to her burning down the building!), Olivia moves back to Omaha where she ends up staying with her brother and his roommate, Colin Beck. Olivia and Colin have had a combative relationship for most of their lives, constantly taking pot shots and making digs at each other.

When Olivia receives a random text from an unknown number, she has a funny comeback at the ready, and things take off from there. On the flip side, Colin eventually figures out that he’s texting Olivia and tries to ghost her, but our heroine is having none of that!

After getting a new job, (then losing the job), then getting an apartment (in the same building as Colin) things start to heat up between the two, with Colin no longer seeing her as just his friend’s little sister. While I do think Olivia is too quick to blame Colin for the “thing” that inevitably comes between them, issues are resolved in the end.

I really like the fact that this book took place in Omaha, not Chicago or New York or L.A. (Yay, Midwest!) It’s not really a hot spot some would think of for romance but it works perfectly. I also loved the snappy dialogue between the characters, especially the text messages. I didn’t want this one to end.

When Olivia’s life turns into an epic shitstorm and moves in temporarily with her brother Jack and brother’s best friend Colin, she finds solace from an anonymous wrong text. Moving back to Omaha means word travels fast, and having the reputation of a serial f-up, Mr. Wrong Number becomes her confidant. Until a new budding romance sparks between her and Colin. Oh how complicated everything just got.

If you loved BETTER THAN THE MOVIES, then it’s guaranteed that you’d enjoy MR. WRONG NUMBER, too. Painter has a knack for conjuring up excellent hate-to-love banter, what can I say? And being that this fell in the adult rom-com category, all the more it was a joy to read (translation: I felt less gross having a crush on the hero lol). This brother’s best friend slash forced proximity romance had somewhat of a predictable premise, but a hell of a fun ride. The text exchanges, the advice columns, all the side characters (aka annoying family members), and the dramarama contributed to the development of our beloved main characters and their love.

This modern-day retelling of You've Got Mail is a solid choice for fans of the enemies-to-lovers trope.

3.5 stars. Olivia has just gotten dumped and burned down her apartment and gotten fired, so she moves in with her brother and her brother's roommate while she's getting back on her feet. Little does she know that her brother's roommate is none other than his best friend Colin, who treated Olivia like a pest growing up. But at least she has Mr. Wrong Number, an accidental and flirty connection with someone she's never met. Except Mr. Wrong Number and Colin are one and the same, and once he figures that out, it's hard to see his best friend's annoying little sister in the same way he always did.

This was a cute premise and an enjoyable story. I got annoyed with Painter for writing Olivia as such a hot mess. I feel like the klutzy girl stumbling through life trope is pretty tired, and Olivia was frequently a frustrating character as she continued to make careless or bad decisions. Also, Colin learning about their phone connection while she didn't know made me uncomfortable, as he kind of exploited that knowledge. But overall, I'd be willing to read another book by this author.

When Olivia receives a text message meant for someone else she doesn't know the delightful flirtation that is about to follow to lift her out of her funk.
Colin is really enjoying this flirtation he is having with the woman he accidentally texted. Until the night he looks down and sees his message to his Ms. Misdial on her roommate's annoying younger sisters phone.
I really enjoyed this. It has strong You've Got Mail vibes with Colin discovering Olivia's identity and then being really torn about what to do about it. Seeing their relationship develop was fun and Colin was a super dreamy leading man with his tailored suits and sext nerd glasses.
