I enjoyed April May Fall (written by the same author) and I enjoyed this book! I like this author and she can do no wrong! This was a fun quick romance comedy that I would certainly recommend poolside with a nice cocktail :)

Hovland lays on the charm while delivering little glimpses of reality. There's Something about Molly takes a humorous approach to dole out a fresh dose of common sense. Perfection is not an option when it comes to matters of the heart. Molly and Gavin are a hot mess when it comes to emotional baggage. He pushes her buttons, she craves his touch and neither will give an inch. Fresh. Funny. Fabulous.

What a fun book! If life didn't get in the way, I would have read this in one sitting! The banter between Molly and Gavin was hysterical and spot on. I had to re-read some of the dialogue because I just cracked up all over again. A great story about girlfriends being there for one another, the trials and tribulations of being a parent, and finding love at all all different times in life. A real gem!

Very cute book! Moly and the kids were hilarious - especially the green skittles scene. I didn't feel the enemies-to-lovers as much as I would have liked. I suspect that there are more reasons to dislike Gavin at the start if we've read Rachel, Out of Office.

The cast of side characters was great too. Agnes and Charlie were wonderful.

The steam is a little odd-it's pretty steamy right up to....a one sentence euphemistic end of chapter line.

But overall a very enjoyable book and I'll be reading the next one!

I received an ARC copy from Net Galley, but this review are my own.

Molly is a professional matchmaker and runs her own vlog with dating tips, but she's not such an expert at her own dating life. In fact, she seems to set up her first dates with other women she thinks they'd be perfect for. But when a matchmaking competition requires her to be in a relationship to stay in first place, she chooses Gavin. As her best friend's ex, he's off limits, and she's always disliked him for the way he treated Rachel when they were married. And Gavin has good reason to agree to the arrangement because it would keep his interfering mother from trying to set him up with every woman they come across. The more time they spend together, the more she realizes Gavin's not the bad guy she thought he was. Could this get trial turn into a lifetime?
This was a cute enemies to lovers fake relationship story. I love how Molly is a strong single mother doing everything to provide the best for her son and refuses to take a handout. And the fact that Gavin's twins are Oliver's friends gives Molly a chance to see Gavin in a different light, as a capable and loving father. The cover art is really cute and drew my attention.

Christina Hovland is one of my favorite romcom writers, and her Mommy Wars series definitely make this mommy laugh out loud!

This series started with Rachel Out of Office, and There's Something About Molly picks up right where that left off. Here we find Molly and her ex, Gavin, rekindling their romance...but it's fake, right? It can't possibly lead to real feelings and another shot at a happily-ever-after, can it?

Of course it can! And of course this second-chance romcom is hysterical and includes a cast of characters so wild and amusing that you just want to make some popcorn and keep reading. From Gavin and Molly's kids, to Gavin's mom, everyone has something to contribute. But honestly, I just want to be friends with all of them because you know life will never be boring!

This book was super cute even if the family dynamics still make my head spin a little. I'm a suckered for a strong female lead and I loved hoelw the author portrayed Molly. Single mom, hard worker and doing everything she can to provide for her son and not taking handouts from others. It's important to continue to portray characters like this in books.

This book has some steam to it. So if that bothers you than this may not be the book for you.

I also loved the quotes from moms at the beginning of each chapter. They always gave me a good laugh.

There's Something About Molly by Christina Hovland was an absolute delight to read! A story of the healthy, empowering, supportive network of female friendships that are portrayed. It's so rewarding and so much fun to read about.

This book was different than most I read but the characters really grew on me. I enjoyed how much Gavin has evolved from the book, Rachel, Out of Office and the kids in the story make you laugh out loud. Molly thinks for sure she is immune to Gavin but as a relationship expert she should know love comes when you least expect it. I just couldn’t put this book down as I had to know what was going to happen next! I will definitely read the next book by Christina Hovland.

This book 2 has Molly as the heroine and Gavin is the Hero.

Gavin and Molly have known each other for a while , Molly best friend doesn’t like Gavin and because of that Molly doesn’t like also .
The conversations between Molly and Gavin will have you laughing. Grab it and see when Molly and Gavin find out that their feelings are strong for each other

Grab it and fall in love again

I thought this was a very fun read. Cuteness and humor go hand-in-hand as the well written story unfolds. Molly and Gavin's romance somehow manages to be complicated and yet simple at the same time. I really enjoyed the banter and the sparks. As for the characters, I must admit I liked Gavin a lot more. Don't get me wrong, I liked Molly but I never managed to form a strong connection to her. All and I though, I felt this book was a winner and I enjoyed it.

I don’t know if that’s because I had high expectations for that book, but I was kind of disappointed.
The blurb sounded great, enemies to lovers and fake relationship, both sound amazing togheter, mixed with single parents, count me in.
I did not see the enemies to lovers part that much. More like dislike ? But definatly NOT nemesis.

Also, I felt like they were too many characters. By the first 30% I was confused as to who was everyone and kept losing track of the names.

I enjoyed Gavin and Mollys characters, but I did not really felt the connection. I feel like it was happening really fast/their development was none?.

I don’t know, I’m not saying this was bad, I’ve read this before my coffee, so maybe it was me, but I was just not feeling it :’(

Molly is a single mother and a relationship coach. She needs money and decides to enter a competition on matchmaking but needs a boyfriend. She doesn’t have one but decides that Gavin her best friends ex will do as he’s not dating anyone to get her fake boyfriend. Can she talk him into going along with it? Will it lead to more? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

•• What’s this about? ••

Molly is really good giving love advices, but she’s not that good following them. And being a single mom with a difficult love past makes it more impossible. Finding the right one is not easy, but Molly thinks that having a man doesn’t mean that you will be happy.
But, to make his son happy and reach her dreams, she needs to win a matchmaker competition. And in order to that, she needs a couple. Maybe Gavin Frank can be her solution…

Gavin is Rachel’s ex (Molly’s BFF) and Travis’s brother (Rachel’s husband). Yeah, I know, quite complicated. And Molly's nemesis.
They have a really complicated relationship since she hates him. A pure hate. A lot of hate. But suddenly that changes when she realizes that he might not be that bad.

They decide to use the opportunity to pretend being a couple, and so each one wins something. Molly, the competition and the money. And Gavin, to keep his mother from setting him up to blind dates.

•• What do I think about it? ••

This is the second book in the Mommy Wars Series, and I’m loving it, can't wait for the other books.
Really, the way Christina writes is unique. She knows how to involve love, comedy and real-life issues and create a great story. I couldn’t stop laughing at Molly’s attitude and falling in love of Gavin. It was an absolutely amazing and hilarious story.

So, speaking of them. Molly is a really great character. I loved everything about her… her humor, the way she sees life, how she cares about everyone and all of the doubts she had about herself… yes, I loved and hated that too because it made her a real character.

Gavin… I have to be honest, I hated him in Rachel, Out of Office. I used to think he was a jerk who didn’t care about his kids, and he was, sort of, but he changed a lot between the two stories. And I couldn’t help but falling in love of him in this book. He is so gentle, so sweet, and it was so funny watching him trying to be a better father. I just loved him.

Oh, and also need to mention Agnes and Charlie… SO. DAMN. CUTE. I really loved their relationship, it’s all I have to say.

There were so many good scenes and so many good quotes that made the story so perfect. I loved that it was an easy reading with not too much drama and with a lot of comedy and romance. It was exactly my kind of reading.

I’m looking forward to read more about this series because is so amazing.
Oh, and I have to say that I really love the quotes at the beginning of each chapter. Even though I’m not a mom I know that every quote is something my mom would say, or do, or think.

This was fun.

This was an enemies to lovers ron-com, with Molly, a single mom trying to win a dating contest. Not with her date, but with her landlady's date. Her 70 year old landlady, who had her sights on the local widower.

And it was all going well, until the gay guys who were also in the contest, brought in their cute couple, and Molly realized she needed to have someone of her own to spar with, and who better than the ex-husband of her best friend, whose kids were best friends with her kid, Gavin.

Got it. Right. A little complicated, but that makes for a crazy story.

Gavin is actually not that hate-able, and actually admits to his mistakes, which makes him a rather good character. Molly, on the other hand, keeps going from hating to not hating to not knowing what she wants.

My only problem with all this is that her son, and friends, do not seem to be 8 years old, more like teenagers, with their actions, but who knows, perhaps kids are doing stupid stuff earlier in life, these days.

Christine Hovland has come up with a series of romances that are all related, but can all be read separately. If you read the other books in her series, you will run into the same characters on the fringes of the story, which is rather fun, like being in the know..

I have been thoroughly enjoying every bit of this series, and this newest installment is no exception for me!
I really wasn’t expecting the path that the heroine took in this one, and I think it was a sweet ride to loving herself. Add in a hero that’s content to give her the bricks to build that foundation and we have a winner.
This book was a little slower of a read for me, since I didn’t really have a super strong connection at the beginning with either character, but they made it happen.

There’s Something About Molly by Christina Hovland, is book 2 in her laugh out loud Mommy Wars Series. This book is a standalone and told in dual POV. Molly and Gavin are introduced in Christina’s first book of the series - Rachel, Out of Office, and I highly recommend reading it because 1) It’s hilarious and 2) You get more context of the enemies portion of this relationship.
I did NOT see this couple coming! Holy plot twist! Molly was not a fan of Gavin’s at all, and to be completely honest neither was I. I was a little wary of reading this when I realized Gavin was the main character. I don’t know why I even doubted Christina’s vision, the woman knows romantic comedy. I already adored Molly and her son Oliver, and I totally fell in love with Gavin. The chemistry is amazing with these two. The innuendo and banter were equal parts funny and oh my goodness hot! It was heartbreaking to see that Molly didn’t see an HEA for herself. The character growth for Gavin was incredible and I loved learning what made him tick, and his side of things that happened in the first book. There’s just something about these Frank Men and their ability to steal your heart. I hope we get Dave’s story as well, and I would LOVE a second generation series with Oliver, Brady and Kellan because those boys are fantastic! I couldn’t put this book down. Great plot, great characters and a great continuation of the lives of some awesome women. I highly recommend There’s Something About Molly, it’s a fun read.

Another excellent book in the Mommy Wars series!

Molly and Gavin are a couple that shouldn't happen. His ex-wife is one of her best friends and Molly honestly doesn't like Gavin that much. I also didn't love Gavin after the first book in the series, but he did start to win me over a bit by the end. Here, however, I ended up really liking them both. There's some nice character growth and they had a lot of chemistry together.

I was so curious how they would make it work, and their relationship development was nicely done. I also liked seeing them both with their kids. So often kids are just an afterthought or ridiculously wise for their age. Molly's son and Gavin's twins were funny and entertaining.

This can be read as a standalone, but the first book was also really great. I can't recommend Christina's books enough!

In book two, Rachel's best friend Molly falls for the one guy she never saw herself falling for, Rachel's ex-husband Gavin. Molly however doesn't see herself as relationship material since they usually don't work out for her. So she uses her talents to set other people up.
Another cute rom-com by the author.

There's Something About Molly starts out at Molly's best friend's wedding where she has to join forces with Rachel (the BFF)'s ex-husband, Gavin, as they wrangle their collective children in an effort to make sure Rachel has her dream wedding. Rachel and Gavin get along great, knowing that they should never have been married in the first place but felt compelled to do so after an unplanned pregnancy. The only person who still seems to hold a grudge against Gavin is Molly, not being able to forgive him for not being the best husband to her bestie. As Molly and Gavin are thrown together more and more frequently, Molly realizes there is of course more to the story. Sparks fly, but Molly is known for always finding the perfect woman (not her) for any man she dates and she starts to do the same with Gavin. Her low self-esteem is a lot to conquer but Gavin is up for the challenge as they join forces in a local radio contest to matchmake Molly's landlord/surrogate grandmother.

One of my favorite parts of this story was the kids--although Molly is still fairly young, she is a mom and I find it's a bit more relatable to me to see people dealing with their kids WHILE falling in love. This is the second in the Mommy Wars series by Christina Hovland and is out today. I didn't dislike this book, but I also do not think I will be seeking out others in the series. We got Gavin's perspective, but not nearly enough of it. It just didn't really feel very true to me that these people suddenly fell in love and rushed right into a committed relationship. That said, I did love the relationships among the women. Their ability to feel free to call each other out on their BS did feel real. It might have been a better general fiction book than a romance.
