Fun with 50 States includes state information such as it’s capital, population, date of statehood, state flower, bird, flag, and nickname. It even teaches a few words of Hawaiian! I’m very happy that this book included US territories and a few words Spanish, Samoan, and Chamorro. There are so many fun activities like codes, connect the dots, find the difference, word searches, mazes, crosswords, and lots of pictures to color. This book may be intended for kids and I may be an adult, but I thought it was cute and enjoyed it so much.
Mahalo (thanks in Hawaiian) to Zeitgeist for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This is such a fun and educational book. Each state has several pages that include different facts and activities. This would be a great activity book to use to help children learn about the different states in a fun and engaging way.

I would recommend for anyone who has children 6-10 years old who enjoy learning about the 50 different states of America!

Great activity book for kids. Wonderful use of colour, illustrations and a good range of activities. Very fun!

The only thing I would have liked to see for each state was a little map showing where in the U.S each state is located.

Fun with 50 States by Nicole Claesen. I like reading about facts of states especially birds. Children love to learn facts about states as they travel through them. They learn about them as they do little activities so they can remember the facts.

This is such a cute activity book with a lot of great facts about the 50 states.

The book is sorted alphabetically, and each state has information about the state, including some fun facts or history and then a few activities that go with the state. This is perfect for young children of all ages!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Fun with 50 States by Nicole Claesen is an amazing activity book for children 6-10 who can't get enough of the 50 states. Alongside, educational texts written at an appropriate level, the book includes word searches, connect-the-dots, fill in the blank, and other writing activities. According to the description, "With 50 states, a capital in Washington, DC, and several territories, our country is home to spectacular national parks, exciting cities, and stunning vistas."

Overall, Fun with 50 States is the perfect gift for the geography-lover in your life. One highlight of this book is the amount of detail and research that went into this book. Another highlight of this book is how much thought and time went into creating each of the activities. This book is well-thought-out and will definitely satisfy a child wanting to learn more about America. If you're intrigued by the description, I highly recommend this book, which is available now!

As an educationalist I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It is one of the most well constructed non-fiction book for children I have seen. It will fully engage all children ( and many adults). The text is clear and easily accessible with just the right amount of information. What makes this book exceptional is the wide range of excellent, brightly illustrated activites to engage and reinforce learning. An outstanding book - I loved it!

this as a great book that would definitely work for school age children. There were interesting little tidbits about each state which could be used if you had a goal of visiting al 50 states. I could see this being made into a game type of use.

Such a fun book for at home, at school, or even on a road trip to learn about the states. Each state has interesting facts and a couple fun activities to complete. It's not overloaded with information but still has a decent amount which makes it still fun without feeling like work. Kids will want to learn without realizing they even are. I plan on taking this on our next road trip for both of our kids so that as we are either passing through a state, see a license plate of the state, or as they are bored they can complete it to pass time. I personally think even kids over the age of 10 would enjoy this if they just want something fun to do.

This book was full of fun and interesting activities and factoids about each of the 50 states. The information on each state isn’t provided in a systematic fashion, the same information isn’t provided for each state, so I don’t think this would suitable for education purposes. It would be perfect for car or plane rides, however, as the activities are short and engaging for younger audiences with lots of bright graphics.

This is a fun little geography book. It is geared for young children. Each state has about 6-10 random sentences about the state. Some highlight things that happened first in that state. Others showcase popular or historical events. Some are just unusual facts about the state. I learned some things like where the most crooked street in the world is or which state makes the most popcorn. I didn’t know that the seven spikes on the Statue of Liberty represent the seven oceans and seven continents.

There are a couple activities for each state. They tended to be things like coloring, dot to dot or find the matching race cars. While there was a connection to the state, it was more busy work rather than helping you learn more about the state. Because of the nature of the activities, it would be a lot better to get a print copy of the book rather than purchase the kindle edition.

I could see using this in a kindergarten or first grade room for a five minute geography lesson. It’s more random than comprehensive and gives just a little taste or flavor to the state.

Thank you to Zeitgeist for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I read this ARC via NetGalley, with my 11 year old. This is our review.

What a FUN book to learn or review about the 50 States!
Facts, varied activities (connect the dots, coloring, decoding, spot the differences, etc.) and cartoon-like illustrations. Some of the activities were reusing the information from the State introduction text but in a game setting, like a mini-test: helpful to memorize the facts. Great concept!

During the Covid-19 pandemic, domestic travel in the US is looking more appealing than ever. Fun with 50 States would either be an entertaining and educational way to prepare for a trip or to distract elementary school-age kids during the less interesting stretches of road between destinations. With 2 to 3 pages for each state and the 5 US territories, basic information included the capitals, populations, and state flags. Facts that will improve one's chances on "Jeopardy" were given ranging from states with the greatest number of caves, sunflowers, or dinosaurs. Little games such as coded messages, crosswords, find the differences, etc. ensured that this wasn't a text-heavy book.

Thank you to Penguin Random House and NetGalley for providing me with a digital ARC (ISBN 9780593196982). Publication date was August 25, 2021.

Thank you for the opportunity to review this book. It has lots of information about each state and has activity pages for the child to complete. The descriptions are brief to keep students interested . This book reminds me of a book I had when I was a child. This is a book I would love to purchase in paper form for my boys when they get older.
