What a charming book! I loved the characters, the setting, and the storyline. Getting to know Dee, JP, and the gang was wonderful, and I totally fell in love with the knitting store and the small town.

Dee was such a fun main character because we could see her determination, kindness, and loyalty throughout the book. She has put so much energy into her work for so long, it is hard to live without burning herself out everyday. This story was fascinating because it showed Dee trying to help her brother and her friend in a way that she understood- but was misunderstood by others. Dee grew so much in this book and truly got to explore herself and her needs throughout the story.

I loved the knitting store, blog, and community! This was such a sweet, refreshing concept for the book, and I immediately fell in love with this wonderful crafting community. JP is so fun, and I love his natural, honest vision for his store. Supporting families’ with premature babies by knitting hats is such an adorable concept, and this book just made me feel good.

There were such great relationships throughout this book! I adored all the ships throughout the story, and I liked how the relationship moments were balanced between the knitting challenge and Dee’s personal growth.

Overall I adored this book! My only negatives are that some parts of the story seemed to be added in just for drama, and I disliked how quickly JP and Beckie turned against Dee when they disagreed with her promotional choices. That being said, I still enjoyed the book and I would recommend it to people looking for a sweet, easy story about love, growth, and knitting.

The Woolly Hat Knitting Club by Poppy Dolan was a perfect cozy audiobook! Listening to it felt like drinking a nice cuppa while sitting in a comfy chair with your favorite fuzzy blanket!

This book kicks off when Dee learns her brother, JP, has broken both of his arms. While this would be a problem for most people, it's an even bigger problem if you run a knitting shop and vlog. Dee rushes home to help and turns her life as a management consultant upside down. I loved seeing this book play out there was enough conflict to keep it interesting, but nothing too stressful to detract from the coziness.

What an absolutely adorable and charming book. I am so grateful to be given the opportunity to listen to this one! Bravo!

Delilah Blackthorn is a formidable force in her demanding career. She can balance a complex report for a client, her Pilates class, and diplomacy with ease. Then her job is gone and she heads to her home village to help her little brother with his knitting shop -- About a Knitting Boy. A unexpected meeting with an old friend who has a premature baby and is at the end of her rope is the beginning of an idea to knit baby hats. Helping babies becomes a mission and although Delilah loses her way, she soon begins to wonder if securing a nest egg is the same as enjoying said nest. I am not a big knitter, but enjoy cross stitch and loved the way crafters came together in this adorable story. If you buy the book in print, you will also find a pattern and instructions for a baby hat as a bonus at the end of the book. In addition, Lizzie Wofford does a top notch job narrating.

When I first read about this book, I felt like it was just what I needed. As someone who loves reading books with darker themes, I sometimes need something a bit more lighthearted and this book was perfect in that regard. Fun but still had nuances that made it interesting for me and that created much more interesting characters.

In the story, we got a work-a-holic as a protagonist. Dee is a product of today's society, someone who feels that being busy is the only way to be successful. So much so that she loses track of everything going on in her personal life. I know, I've been there. And I definitely could relate to her struggles when losing her job.
On the other hand, we got her brother JP, who was in her situation once until it got too much for him. It's nice to see their relationship as siblings and to compare how they approach life.
Other minor characters were also very interesting and complimented Dee's story really well. After all, this book is in my opinion about her learning to socialize with people again. Getting out of her work bubble and realizing how her actions affect others. Sure, there is a romance in the story too, but it's not the main plot. The friendships and the siblings' relationship are and I really enjoyed that.

The narrator was brilliant. She made the story really easy to follow and very dynamic. The story itself was entertaining, and the narration definitely complimented it.

Are you looking for a warm hug of a book? Look no further. These characters are wonderful. You want to be friends with them. I’m not a knitter. I will never be a knitter but this story made think I could. Dee could take her blinders off because I knew who stabbed her in the back from the very beginning. Doesn’t matter I still was rooting for these characters.

This book immediately attracted me, with it’s bright and cheery cover.

Dee is a highflyer, but her job takes a backseat when her brother JP needs her help. After breaking his wrists he needs Dee to help with his craft and knitting shop.
Back in her office, rumours begin to spread about Dee, and they ultimately result in her losing her job. Dee blames Ben, her closest rival, but is he the person she thinks he is?
Dee randomly bumps into an old friend in the supermarket, who has just had a premature baby. This is where the story really takes off, as a plan is formed to help.

This book is funny, warm and really quite charming.
There is a love story, but it certainly doesn’t take centre stage.

At times the story did drag a little, but it was worth sticking with.

Poppy Dolan writes with great detail and feeling about premature babies and the reality of the struggles that they and their parents face.

This book was an absolute treat and I’m so happy to be given an opportunity to review the new audio version of this book. The narrator was fabulous and kept the energy up the whole time.

After Delilah (Dee) is unceremoniously canned from her high-power job amid strange rumors about her and her clients, she seeks solace at her brother’s knitting shop that she has also been an investor in while also reconnecting with family and friends she has lost touch with.

There were a few things that prevented me from giving this a full 5-star rating (it was originally published in 2017 so there were a few things in it that are very dated or odd for 2021) but I don’t need to go into specific detail.

Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick, fun story about finding yourself and the importance of focusing on things other than work.

When Dee Blackthorn’s brother, JP, breaks both wrists not only is he in need of a helping hand – or two – but the knitting shop he owns can’t function. Sisterly duties take Dee away from her demanding job and she is unceremoniously fired amidst rumours of inappropriate behaviour. Dee is certain that her hot-shot nemesis, Ben, is behind it all but has no proof.

When Dee bumps into an old friend who is new mum to a premature baby she convinces JP to enlist his knitting pals to make lots of tiny woolly hats. Then Ben turns up denying involvement in Dee’s sacking and she ropes him into helping the knitting cause.

As a knitter when I saw the title of this book I knew that I had to jump at the opportunity. The majority of the characters featured in this book are entirely likeable - of course there is an exception to this. We follow Dee as she goes from a workaholic and adapts to life without a job as she overcomes the obstacles placed in her path.

As an audiobook I thought that this was a joy to listen to, and although a work of fiction - it highlights how much a simple hobby can help others. A fabulous read, just the sort of lift you need when you are feeling a little bit down.

Cute cozy. I enjoyed the knitting store as the hub. I don't knit or crochet, and liked all the term references. Also, I really admire that no one was an idiot to heighten a lay person in this story. Th author chose to bring awareness to the need for warmth in preemies, mentioned no need for just pink and blue. The story centers around a brother and sister, and every day life. The story is sweet, fun, sad, and funny.

I listened to the audiobook through NetGalley, and felt the narrator did s great job.

There is profanity, and the cold inappropriate use of God, and that earns a 3.4 star rating. I really wish publishers would draw the line to this nonsensical use of language.

This book will have you laughing out loud and crying throughout the book. It was such a fun book to listen to and review.

This book is about a lady who has lost her job at the same time that her brother broke both his arms and cannot run his knitting store for 6 weeks ( yes men do knit!) The book is set outside of London so some of the references to knitting may be confusing to Americans. It starts with a premature baby that does not have enough warm clothes small enough for him to wear especially hats. While the characters knit him little hats to help keep him warm and idea sparks and from there a charity is formed. There is a knit along in the book to help this charity and a little romance thrown in and it makes the perfect book for crafters to list to while knitting.

That narration was great. Fast paced but slow enough that you can keep up. Now I only gave it 4 stars on the narration but that was only because depending on what kind of knitter you are you might want to actually buy the book format. There is a pattern in the end of the book that I fell the narrator went a little fast on to actually do the pattern but then I need a paper pattern myself to follow along with.

This is a great book for crafters or anyone that might be wanting to get into crafting. I am a crafter myself and loved it. I also learned that in London the craft store I mostly frequent would be called a Haberdashery because they have a little bit of almost every craft!

I wanted to like this one more than I did but it was middle of the road for me. The premise was very cute. My only issue is it took a long time to even get to the romance. I remember looking and seeing I was 26% in and the romance part hadn’t event started. In fact, Dee and Ben had rarely even interacted. It was mostly just her ignoring his emails and pretending he wasn’t around at work. I would have preferred it if the author showed us why they didn’t like each other. Everything was just told to us by Dee without actually seeing any of the drama unfold. (Yes she assumed he sabotaged her but we never actually see him doing that or something that can be misconstrued. He actually was constantly checking in on her. Plus we never see them interact in the beginning to even believe he would or care if he actually did sabotage her)

Overall, this one struggled to keep my attention and it took too long to really get started. I do think it was cute and I loved her relationship with her brother and seeing the knitting community, it just didn’t work as well for me as I thought it would.

A great book for me due to being a knitter and once running a craft business. The book was a lovely "light" read and the characters were very likeable and, more importantly, believable. It made me want to get my needles out and start knitting baby hats for a baby unit.

The Woolly Hat Knitting Club is heartwarming tale of familial love, friendship and trying to be the best version of yourself as you possibly can be.

Going into this book, I thought that I'd read another romance novel with a few different elements than I'm used to. Actually, there was no hint of anything remotely romantic for the first 60% of the book.

The narrator was perfect for the book and I thoroughly enjoyed all of the voices that she did. Consuming this book in an audiobook format only improved the experience.

The Woolly Hat Knitting Club follows the story of Delilah who is not only trying to navigate a very male dominated industry, she's the best at her job. She works twelve hours a day and she loves it. But is she really happy?

When something unfortunate happens to her, she has to spend more time with her brother and help him with his knitting club.
She rekindles an old friendship with a woman who has a premature baby and is having an incredibly hard time in her life.

Getting out of the office DeeDee finally realizes what is important in life: her younger brother, her friends, doing something for a good cause.

Plus, when we do get to the romance part it is slow burn and enemies to lovers! And when I say slow burn, I mean reallyyyyy sloooooooooow.

If you want something warm and cozy, this is the perfect book for you.

When I saw the cover of this book I thought it looked like a fun read. The cover is so bright and colourful it looked like a nice, easy read. The narrator is very good and gives each other characters their own identity. When Dee's brother, JP, breaks both wrists she steps in to help him at home and to carry on his business in his own knitting shop. Unfortunately, Dee never did take to knitting very well so is dreading working in the shop and helping with his classes. Dee is actually fired from her job so this opportunity comes at just the right time to take her mind off things. This is a book about love, friendship and community spirit. All the characters are very likeable and the relationship between Dee and her brother is a lovely one, if not a little quieter and less argumentative than most sibling relationships.

I really enjoyed this book and will definitely look from other books from the author in future. It is uplifting and inspiring in all the right ways.

This is a cute feel good novel to curl up on the sofa with and just enjoy, we have workaholic Dee Blackthorn’s who finds out that her brother JP, has broken both his wrists so he will need help not only with himself but with his shop selling wool and haberdashery goods, so Dee does what she does best and juggles her work life and jumps to it but when she supposedly messes up a presentation she finds her self fired without a backwards glance and she is sure her rival and nemesis, Ben, is behind the firing,
I enjoyed the overall story but I couldn't help wonder why this so called driven woman just walked away without fighting back a bit.

This was my second Poppy Dolan book and just like with the first one I listened to the audiobook instead of reading it. I loved the the story. It had me smiling and laughing at times and made me think about what is really important in life and finding a balance between work and home. The characters like Dee and her brother JP and her best friend and all the other supporting cast were endearing and often also quircky and imperfect, but that just made the story more real and good. The story line regarding pre-mature babies was quite the eye-opener and added a lovely touch to what this crafting community could really do for each other.

I don't knit, but I do crochet and although I am not part of a crafters' community myself, this club just really added that extra something special to the story with its heartwarming community.

I thought this book was great I loved the humour throughout. I was enchanted by the story and loved the depth of the characters. I enjoyed the twists in the tale and the joy of reading about a family run business. I thought it was great that they included men who were knitters and the fact they bring the whole community together.

I listened to the audio book and found that the narrator brought the humour in the book to life.

This is a brilliant book for those who love  a heart-warming tale that you can connect with added romance. I also loved the bonus section at the end explaining how to knit your own baby hat was brilliant. Plus with this book I got to learn about a subject I know very little about. Don't you just love it when you learn from a fiction book.

While I will have to say, I have never been a knitter. However, that fact did not stop me from enjoying this lovely story.

I found the characters to be quite likable. I really enjoyed the brother-sister relationship, and how Dee rescues her brother’s business when he is ill.

I loved the heartwarming part of the story regarding the knitting of hats for babies. I found The Woolly Hat Knitting Club to be an enjoyable and heartwarming story with a touch of romance as well.

This story was superb! There were truly so many things I liked about The Woolley Hat Knitting Club but I got this review down to just a few notes. 🧶

Starting with the obvious, the audiobook narrator was fantastic and was very believable as our story narrator, Delilah (Dee) Blackthorn. Dee herself was very lovable and I enjoyed watching her go from intense business woman to soft, happy, craft nerd.

Her relationships within the story really moved the plot along. There would be no story if it weren’t for Dee’s goofy brother, JP. I loved watching his character bloom into a strong young man (despite his broken hands. 😂) Then there’s Becky and her son Chester - Dee’s old friend that has become a new again friend, and Ben - Dee’s once work rival turned something more?? 😋 Both Becky and Ben we’re big parts of Dee growing into her new self and it was so nice to see.

I’m not a knitter, nor am I very crafty, but man I’ve never been so intrigued by all the knitting activities that happened in this story. I also VERY MUCH want to go to a yarn store for really no reason. 😂
