This was a fun and easy listen. I really enjoyed getting to know the characters and would recommend this to a friend

Dee has a high powered job that forces her to work pretty much around the clock, but when rumors start mysteriously circling around the office, she gets fired. Meanwhile her younger brother JP is in need of help with his knitting shop. He has broken both his wrists, and can't dress himself, let alone keep up with his shop and actually knit.

While Dee helps out with the knitting shop, she sees an old friend and learns that she has just had a baby four weeks early who is in the NICU. Wanting to do something to help her, she enlists the help of JP and some of his customers, who make tiny hats for the baby. Seeing how much helpful this is, and how appreciated, Dee then sets off trying to help even more new mothers with baby hats, and in turn tries to expand JP's business.

When she starts overstepping and taking charge too much, she has to re-evaluate exactly what she wants out of her life, and how she is going to do that.

I enjoyed the book a lot. It was especially fun to me because I have crocheted baby hats for preemies at hospitals, and have many friends who knit, so I appreciated some of the strange idiosyncrasies mentioned about knitters as a whole. I listened to the audio book version of this book and the I enjoyed this narrator immensely! A very warm and fuzzy read, and a perfect palate cleanser of a book!

Love, LOVE, love this book! Fun, funny, and fabulous characters. I cannot fault the author in any way. I hope she keeps writing books for this series.
The audio reader is Awesome! She was great with all voices, and inflections. Each character was different and it was always obvious who was talking.

This story was just adorable! I loved the characters, the story line, and the knitting! The characters were really the stand-out in this one! You fall in love with them, you want to be friends with them, and you want everything to work out for them!

An absolute gem!

I absolutely loved this book. It combines my 2 favourite pastimes…reading and knitting.

The characters are lovely, and I pictured myself frequenting the yarn shop in the story.

A definite fuzzy feeling has been created inside while finishing this book.

It tells the story of Delilah Blackthorn . She doesn't really have a very fulfilling job and in fact gets fired from it. Her brother JP is very close to her and she looks after him when he breaks both wrists.

JP is the brain behind a scheme to help Delilah 's friend Becky who has just given birth to a premature baby. Through the shop's website and YouTube channel amongst other events, Delilah and JP ask people to knit a woollen hat for the baby. This is a sort of "pay it forward" scheme that they hope will encourage people to help support the special care baby unit at a hospital and other mums with premature babies.

Multiple people end up responding to the request and Becky and her boyfriend are delighted.

I really liked the original ideas in the plot and was keen to read more. I'm a sensitive person who likes to do their best to help people, too and so the scheme fascinated me and I wanted to know how things would turn out for everyone.

Delilah and JP have had a difficult past because their parents did not have a lot of money. Even when Delilah does not have the job that she was working at the beginning of the story JP hope to see the positive side of life.

I was really taken by their aunt Mags, as well as Delilah herself and JP. Mags and Stan were cute together, too. Having been a premature baby myself, I really felt for Becky. After a brief period of feeling a little sorry for herself, Delilah is back on track and fighting to get her life back how she wants it. I loved her POV and was really cheering her on throughout the book!

Poppy Dolan does a great job of representing friendships and conflicts in her writing, and I wasn't bored by the story despite not being a knitter myself. The shop is a very busy and colourful place and is where a lot of the action is. There are some likeable chracters like JP, Delilah Mags Stan and Becky. I liked Ben, too and how he helped Delilah and JP in his own way. The storyline is natural and believable.

Poppy Dolan creates an interesting world of personal struggles versus work ones, and there's a good background (through what the characters go through) which allows readers to see what goes into setting up a business and trying to keep it going.

The book is not the first one that I have listened to by Poppy Dolan. I have also listened to The Bluebell Bunting Society.

The Wooly Hat Knitting Club is a wonderful story of fighting for what really matters to you and is a great feel good story with some funny parts and even romance within the plot.

The book is about looking deep inside yourself and seeing where your priorities in life lie. It's about that moment when you realise that what once made you happy does not any more and that you may have to find a different path in life, like Delilah had to. It's about embracing what, (or who) makes you happy and of finding out who you really are. It's a story of personal growth and development. I think this book will appeal to many people, whether you are a knitter or not. It is a great blend of drama and humour. It is an extremely British read, with lots of references to UK culture, but I think that will not deter from listening to it you if you are not from the UK. All in all, it's a quaint and cosy read, and I would recommend it.

The narrator really does a great job of bringing the characters to life although I already loved them from the ebook version.

This was a sweet and cozy rom-com. We follow Dee who get an SOS from her brother. She was at work in the city and rushed to his village to find that he had broken both his wrists. This not only made it difficult for him to take care of himself- it also made it nearly impossible to run his knitting shop. She didn't have to worry long about who could help him because she was fired when she got back to work. Dee puts her energy into helping at the knitting store and expanding their social media presence. The story showed how generous the craft community can be as it banded together to help a project the shop had a special interest in- premature baby clothes. This was a sweet story with some endearing but imperfect characters. Knitters and non-knitters will enjoy it.

After her brother JP breaks wrists is her turn to help him at his knitting. She is at her dark time of the life but she somehow comes out. Family, friends and love are there.

I knitted a long time ago but anyway. I found the story nice, ups and down and friendship, love, suspicions all mixed but at the end all is cleared.
