Continuing with the lives of the residents of Mermaids Point, this can also be read as a standalone. I can't wait for the next book in this series and this one is well worth 5 stars

Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for this e ARC

I had recently read and enjoyed ‘Summer Kisses at Mermaids Point’, so I was delighted to read a further chapter in the story and catch up with the lovely characters. A sweet and charming book full of warmth, ideal for Christmas. So pleased to hear there are to be further installments as the characters stay in your memory and make you care what their future holds.

Another great read in the series. Great to go back to and read all about the characters and see what they have been up to since the last part.

It is great to be back at Mermaids Point catching up with all of the characters from the first two books and this novella is a lovely one to get you into the Christmas spirit . Full of wonderful characters and a warmhearted story line I couldn't put it down until I had finished it, as with all of Sarah Bennett's books

The lovely characters from the series reunite for the festive season.

Christmas Surprises at Mermaids Point is a sweet novella that brings the reader back to the seaside town of Mermaids Point during the most festive season of the year.

It was lovely to see a happy Nerissa with Tom and his kids, the old and steady love between Andrew and Sylvia, and to get a glimpse of what is yet to come in the following books.

I can't wait to read Ivy and Alex's and Nick and Aurora's HEA!

Lovely short read! Great for all fans of the series!

Christmas surprises at Mermaid point - Sarah Bennet

What can I say, I was drawn in by the title 🧜‍♀️
This is a sweet little story, emotional and brought tears to my eyes. I didn’t realise this was one of a soon to be 4 part series.

🤔 I want to start at the beginning and read the other characters stories and the one that’s set to be written next year.

This book was sent to me by Netgalley for review electronically…it is a story of family and friendship…working things out…recovering from loss…starting over…a good one…story is a little slow at times but a good read..

My thoughts…
Festive. I read the first book in the Mermaid Point series. It was nice to see how the family has gotten on after moving there. This was a quick, cosy and festive read.

BOOK REVIEW | Christmas Surprises at Mermaids Point by Sarah Bennett

SYNOPSIS | Christmas is a time for love, laughter, families and friends, and in Mermaids Point, everyone is getting ready for the festive season.

For Nerissa and Tom, this will be their first Christmas as a couple, but making sure they have time for each other, whilst blending their families, will take some careful planning. What festive traditions will they make their own?
Laurie and Jake are flat out running Laurie’s seafront café, packaging up orders of mince pies, sausage rolls and other delectable Christmas goodies, as well as finding time for Jake’s journalism. But when Jake’s mum offers them an unexpected gift, their plans are turned upside down.

Alex can’t help but be charmed by beautiful and talented Ivy, but he’s still recovering from his ex-wife’s betrayal and has a secret life he’s not ready to share with anyone yet. But as the Christmas spirit starts weaving its magic, Alex may find himself ready for love sooner than he imagines.

For Andrew, nothing is more important than family. As friends and family gather beneath his roof it's a time for reflection about what the future might hold.

As far as Nick is concerned, pop sensation Aurora Storm is the ‘one that got away’. After they shared a brief holiday fling, he has been thinking about her ever since. Is Christmas the perfect time to finally reach out to her, or is love at first sight just in fairy-tales?

MY THOUGHTS | I was happy to read the new book of the Mermaids Point series; however, I did not realize it would be so short! There were a lot of characters to keep track of for such a short read. I would classify it as an “update” of their lives and it would have been nice if it had included more Christmas. A quick read in an afternoon by the Christmas tree!

RATING | ⭐️⭐️💫

What a treat this was! A festive novella bridging books 2 and 3. Set over the Christmas season, this is a catch-up with the couples we were rooting for in the first two books and a teaser for what’s in store for the next two.
I loved getting further insight into Laurie and Jake, Nerissa and Tom’s ongoing relationships and am so excited about the rest of the series.
A perfect festive treat, catching up with old friends and getting to know new ones. A very lovely Christmas surprise!

I didn’t realize this was part of a series. I was expecting more of a Christmas story. I guess it was just a glimpse of what was going on with the characters that probably were in the previous books. Anyone who wants to read this should read the previous ones first. I thought it was just ok
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the early copy

A sweet return to Mermaids Points just in time for Christmas, but it definitely left me wanting more.

It's a quick glimpse into the lives and loves of the inhabitants of Mermaids Point as they prepare for Christmas in this novella. We catch up with Jake and Laurie, and Tom and Nerissa and their plans for the future. Nick is still pining a little bit after Aurora left him behind and Alex secretly dreams about Ivy, but his life is a bit of a mess at the moment.

It was a quick, charming read. I enjoyed catching up with the characters from the first two books. And I am excited to read Nick's and Alex's stories, hopefully soon. The teasers into what lies ahead for these two left me feeling quite a bit frustrated as well as excited. It was over too soon.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is a wonderful story, part of a series but can equally be read as a stand alone. Sarah Bennett weaves a wonderful image within her books which makes it so easy to imagine what the author is trying to describe. I loved the fact that having read the series the characters from other stories appear and their story continues. The writing is really comfortable, like a pair of comfy slippers. Y'know the ones where you have been in a pair of uncomfortable shoes all day and
you come come and a sign of bliss escapes your lips? Thats how i feel about these books, like catching up with friends that leave you with a warm glow!

Christmas Surprises at Mermaids Point is a short holiday novella from the Mermaids Point series. I was super excited to read this book because I wanted to see what happened to Tom and Nerissa, who had gotten together at the end of the previous book. Thankfully I only had to wait a couple of weeks to see what happened to them. I loved this book, it was light and fluffy everything that I would expect from a short holiday read.
This book is structured differently from what I thought it would be; every chapter is from a different character's POV. I both loved and hated how this book was set up. I enjoyed reading the story from other characters' POVs. It was a lot of fun to see how each character was spending the holiday. But a part of me had wanted to spend more time with each character. All the characters in this series are charming, fabulous and I just felt I didn't get to spend enough time with them. LOL I just love this series so much, I wished this book would have been a full novel. I can’t get enough of these characters.

This novella is a segue to where Sarah is going to be taking the series. The first four chapters focus on Jake and Laurie and Tom and Nerissa's stories. We get to see how the couples are doing, and I am happy to report they are living that "happily ever after" life. These chapters are super cute and cheesy (very Hallmarkish). The rest of the chapters are focused on setting the stage for what will happen in the next two books. We got to read from Andrew, Alex, Ivy, Nick and Aurora’s POV. I am really looking forward to the next book that will follow the story of Alex (Tom's brother) and Ivy (Laurie's friend). I felt this instant connection with Ivy’s character and I can’t wait to read her story.

Christmas Surprises at Mermaids Point is a delightful holiday for readers who are fans of the Mermaid Point series.

Thank you, Boldwood Books, for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I didn’t realize upon requesting that this book was a novella in a series, but it’s definitely still readable. The characters are cute and enjoyable. It was a quick read being a novella, but also had enough plot to leave me satisfied. I’m definitely interested in reading the other books in this series now.

As a fan of the Mermaid Point series I loved the chance to catch up with some of my fav characters but this is definitely more of an epilogue to the previous books and a prologue to the next than a story in its own right. I enjoyed it but don’t think it would be worth reading if you haven't read at least one of the two previous books in the series. I can't wait for book number three now.....
