This is a gorgeous slice of Christmas early!! Bringing together everyone from the previous two Mermaid Point books but lovely to read as a stand alone. I cannot wait for Spring Mermaid Point 2022 now!!
Beautifully brought together, the story lines developing still, only to leave us wanting more.
With Laurie and Jake blossoming and more on Alex and Ivy, this is gripping, inviting and addictive.
Christmas with family and friends, perfect escapism!!
Loved this latest from Sarah Bennett
Thanks to NetGalley for the early read!
This was a fabulous novella and was brilliant to pay another visit to mermaids point and to get a bit more back story on the characters and to also get to spend Christmas at the point. This was so much more than just a simple Christmas story and was a novella that delved deeper into the Friendships love and past lives of the characters and how by having each other and the point on their side it gives them the strength to reach out to new adventures and courage to be the best version of themselves. I can’t wait for more of this series as these books are not only relatable real life but also perfect escapism.
As always I have really enjoyed this series of mermaids point. I was so happy I got Christmas surprises and it was really nice to read ivy , Alex, Nick, Aurora and Andrew story as well as the other characters that where in the other two stories. I really like the characters in this book they are so easy to warmed to. I can’t wait for the next book. I like Sarah writing style it’s so easy to get into straight the way and I finish it very quickly due to wanting to know what’s going to happen to the characters. Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this book.
An excellent chance to jump in the Mermaids Point series.
The Mermaids Point books are standalone stories centered around the community of a seaside town. If you haven't read the first two books (Summer kisses at Mermaids Point, Autumn dreams at Mermaids Point), this short read gives you a wrap-up of the past events told from the point of view of each characters. This is not only an interesting solution but also ensures that you don't expect the usual full-book effect from this in-between novel.
Having read the autumn book and now this Christmas special edition, I am ready for book 3!
I am grateful for NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this Advance Reading Copy.
Thanks Netgalley for a arc copy of this book for a honest review..

Happy Reading Lisa 📚
This little novella, is like a Christmas Present from Sarah Bennett for fans of all her books, but most importantly if you have fallen in love with Mermaids Point and everyone that lives there.
Here we are taken back to some of the characters we know well – Jake and Laurie, the main story of the first book. Laurie busy running her little café in the run up to Christmas, with some help from Jake, when he is not writing for the local newspaper are both stunned when Jake’s mother gives them an option for them to consider for their future.
Laurie’s brother Nick, has still not got over the Aurora who swept into his life and Mermaids Point in the first book and the ghost of her has been hovering for a while
Nerissa and Tom are finding their feet as a couple and Nerissa is finding her role as stepmother and friend to his children. Christmas can be a difficult time so it seems.
Alec, Tom’s brother rocks up and flirt unashamedly with everyone, including Laurie’s friend Ivy. It seems that there is something about Ivy. But Ivy has to deal with the immediate future and her mum, she hasn’t got time for distractions.
Andrew Morgan, the patriarch of the Morgan family, Laurie and Nick’s father; Nerissa brother loves everyone to be around at Christmas. What better way is there to spend your time with all those who you love and cherish whether they be family of friends. As his children fly the nest what is going to be next for him and Sylvia.
This book gives us the reader a glimpse into the lives of those we have got to know, but also hints at the stories that are yet to come and I can see at least two if not three that could be bubbling away here. Could Mermaids Point be part of our lives for a while longer?
A perfect taste of Mermaids Point and the enjoyment there is to be had by visiting. It is lovely to be able to catch up with the people and the place in between full stories. More authors need to do this!
I loved this book by Sarah. When I chose to read this I hadn't realised it was part of a series but this did not deter me from enjoying it and can definitely be read as a standalone.
I will however be going back to read the first books in the series to find out more about the characters and I cannot wait for the next in the series to find out what happens to the characters.
I would totally recommend this and definitely worthy of five stars.
I loved this book and I read it quickly in one sitting. Full of adorable imagery, characters that I loves and a great story
I have read most Sarah's books and enjoyed them all, this was no exception. As I have read the other books set in Mermaid Point it was lovely to catch up with the characters for Christmas. This novella meets up again with Nerissa and Tom, Jake and Laurie , Alex and his ex and Ivy and her mum. The story is focussed on family and Christmas. But, in some ways I felt as though the author was leaving a lot of bread crumb trails for future stories at Mermaids Point - although this makes me eagerly await future instalments on characters such as Nick, Ivy and Alex there is no real main character in this short story to focus on. However, a lovely short festive read.
Oghh i wanted this novella to be longer, im really enjoying this series and can't wait until 2022 for the next one.
Thanks to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for an advance copy of this book in exchange for a review.
I have read all the books in the series up until now and was looking forward to this one however when I read the word novella my heart sank slightly. I don't like short stories and novellas - they're just not satisfying enough. This however, I really enjoyed. A chapter to each character bringing us up to date with what's been happening. I look forward now to the remaining books in the series.
Review of Christmas Surprises at Mermaid Point by Sarah Bennett
This is a lovely and charming little Christmas read set in the magical town of Mermaids Point (what a fabulous name!). This book is an novella following on from the authors first two books in the Mermaid Point series. We touch base up with her characters and see how they are coping and preparing for Christmas. I really enjoyed this little book, and it was great to catch up with the characters again. If you loved the first two books then this book is for you.
Thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.
I love a Christmas book at anytime of the year, so when I saw the cover for this one and read the synopsis I thought it would be right up my street. I hadn't realised how short the book was, or that I hadn't read the previous book in the Mermaids Point series. Whilst this did hinder my reading somewhat as I had no background on the characters, as the book is just focused around the festive period I was able to keep track.
There are quite a lot of characters to follow in the book, all on their own path in life and facing different dilemmas. It was fun finding out about them all but I have to say I didn't really click with any of the characters. Again this maybe because I haven't read the previous book.
the writing style was nicely done and a lot of topics are covered in the book, things that most people dealing with daily. Juggling a new relationship with children involved. Becoming a step parent. Moving on after the end of a marriage a bereavement. All handled like you're one of the locals nipping into cafe so a chinwag.
I would definitely read other books by the author, but this book just didn't grip my attention.
Expected publication date 22nd October 2021.
I've been to Mermaid Point before & enjoyed it so much. So many great characters with such good stories, who wouldn't want to go back. Sarah Bennett writes damn good books & brings the places to life & brings you into their lives. Enjoy this book & you'll keep coming back for more!
I like this series of books and was excited to read this. It started off promising with a chapter for each character. I was looking forward to seeing some resolutions but it literally just ended. Felt like the first few chapters of a bigger novel than a complete short story

This is a warm and delightful little book full of wonderful characters set in a breathtaking location. I didn’t realize it was a novella so I was so sad to see it end so quickly. I have not read any of the other Mermaid Cove books and it isn’t necessary to read them first. There is enough description that I learned lots about each character. It almost like an instruction book, introducing each character and their story. A quick little, enjoyable read.
Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. This book will put you in the holiday spirit. It was a quick read that told of several families living a small town. I liked the many characters.
Gorgeous novella catching up with the inhabitants of Mermaid's Point.
A shirt read packing so much in - we get an update on Nerissa and Tom, Linda, and Laurie and Jake and there are some exciting hints of future stories including Alex, Ivy, Nick and Aurora.
I read this in bed on a Sunday morning - perfect!
Thanks Sarah Bennett for another great story 💕
A quick festive catch-up with the residents of Mermaid’s Point bringing not only the romantic connection Nerissa and Tom were missing in the last book, but more from all the characters we’ve met so far whilst laying the foundations for the next 2 books. They can’t come soon enough.
