I have mixed feelings about Dead Girls Can't Tell Secrets. On one hand, it was a fast-paced and engaging mystery. However, at times I got whiplash from how quickly Savannah jumped from suspect to suspect. At the start of the book, it seemed like she was going to covertly expose who hurt her sister, but her actions ended up being a lot clumsier and more scattered than that. I think the suspense would have been stronger if she was honing in on one or two people.

It was a very quick read, good for some lazy reading, nothing too serious.

It was a lot of accidentally discovering things which makes things seem a lot less intense as to when the mc investigates properly and the plot was also nothing complex. Felt pretty flat and boring.

If you are a fan of Mysteries that aren’t straight forward and have you continually changing your guess as to who is behind it , this is the book for you. This story follow Savanna who is currently going through a rough patch as her sister Piper just tried to kill herself, or did she. Savanna finds a note when going through Pipers things one that places Piper on the mountain where she jumped. Savanna is determined after seeing this note to prove piper was set up and this wasn’t a suicide attempt. She joins the local out doors club that Piper was apart of to see which of them showed up to the meeting Piper was told about. Savanna soon learns there was no meeting for the club that day and suddenly all the members are suspects. Can Savanna get to the bottom of this or will it be her turn next? This book was captivating and truly a joy to read.

I can't start how this book unexpectedly left me in awe of how satisfyingly fantastic it was. Dead Girls can't tell secrets is a mystery-thriller novel that focuses on friendship, betrayal, broken hearts, and lies. This novel got me so hooked it kept me guessing until the last page! The author just keeps on giving you clues that would let you think, "okay this is the suspect" but there's a lot of twists! (in a chaotic good way) and secrets kept uncovering over time and everyone felt like a suspect!

I was so immersed in reading this and I love/hate Savannah so much. The major plot twist was so good. I think I'd be wanting to read more of what Chelsea Ichaso writes in the future! :)

I’m a huge fan of YA, especially murder/thriller YA, and this book was one of the most fun I’ve read. Dead Girls Can’t Tell Secrets follows Savannah, a 17-year old whose younger sister, Piper, is in a coma after a supposed suicide attempt, however, the protagonist finds evidence that indicates her sister was being threatened. After her initial discovery, Savannah decides to investigate further and prove that Piper didn’t jump, but that someone tried to kill her and the only thing she knows is that the person was most likely a member of the wilderness club. So, the teen joins it in the hopes of finding out the truth, the problem is that everyone in that club is suspicious and they’re all hiding something, including herself.

It was refreshing to have a protagonist that wasn’t the customary cliche, Savannah isn’t supposed to be entirely likable and she herself knows how awful she’d behaved towards her little sister. Not only that, but she is the furthest thing from the brainiac time, Savannah’s a jock, one of the most popular girls in school and so is her boyfriend. Another surprising thing was that she was the overlooked daughter, her parents clearly were far more devoted to Piper and put her desires above those of her older sister. So many reviews complained that Savannah didn’t investigate anything and merely threw accusations around, however, that’s exactly how a grieving teenager would go about trying to solve how her sister ended up in a coma. Don’t go into this expecting more than what it set out to be: a quick and entertaining YA read, not a Sherlock Holmes or Agatha Christie novel.

The book spans a period of three/four days, and the narrative develops at a quick pace, which coupled with many twists and revelations makes Dead Girls Can’t Tell Secrets a fast and fun read. From Piper’s best friends to the strange boy from the other high school, they all had different voices and fleshed-out personalities, even though the novel was short. In my opinion, the author accomplished that by turning them all into suspects, giving every single person a motive to have done something to Savannah’s sister and the character’s secrets are what move the plot forward.

The one thing I wasn’t a fan of was the romance between two of the characters, it felt forced as it came out of nowhere and it didn’t really make sense, nor did it add anything to the story. However, seeing as it’s something to be expected when it comes to YA books and it wasn’t the main focus of the narrative, that romance didn’t make me dislike the novel in any capacity. Overall, an amazing read that flew by, it was entertaining and every single twist managed to surprise me, making me gasp several times, I 100% recommend it.

Super quick read; Nancy Drew type mystery where literally everyone is a suspect and what we think of as our worst secrets really pale in comparison to the truth. Enough red herrings to fill a boat though. Poor Piper. 2 1/2 stars rounded up to 3.

I really loved this book! Savannah's little sister, Piper, is in a coma. Savannah is trying to find out what happened to Piper and she's struggling with a lot of guilt, feeling as if she should have done more. The book really keeps you on the edge of your seat, and I definitely didn't figure the plot out before I read it!

I have to say this book was fantastic. From the minute that I started reading this book, I found myself sucked in to the world of Savannah and her endless search to get to the truth ... she does not believe that Piper, her sister, tried to kill herself ... but that she was pushed off the cliff, from the moment she starts to look into what actually happened on that day. Having Piper's phone with the mysterious text messages is what starts the trek to find the truth.

Throughout this story, we come across more than 1 lie, betrayals of trust, broken hearts and promises. And one secret after another - each time when Savannah thinks she has found the truth, there is another twist that pushes another person up to be the number 1 suspect.

I feel for Savannah - her parents in their own grief, do not even stop to think about her feelings, partly I guess because they didn't see past Piper and her talents ... to even appreciate Savannah, which as you can imagine didn't help the sisters to have a healthy relationship.

Friendships are tested throughout the book - and only the strong will survive at the end. A lot of what happens with the friends could happen on any day. There is a twist - a good one that I didn't see coming ... it's a really enjoyable book. I think this will be a popular book.

This book had so many twists and turns and kept me on the edge of my seat until the last chapter. The ending was a surprise. Perfect thriller for the Young Adult reader.

At first I was really excited about this book but also a little bit concerned, I had the best experiences and also the worst experiences with thrillers YA.
I really liked this one, It was an amazing book, with a super fast writing it gets your attention in a way that you just want to see what’s next.
Being really sincere I thought I was right with my guess but I wasn’t.
The only thing is that maybe the author could have put a little bit more apprehensive parts, like more stalking from the person who did it that would creat an atmosphere sooo tense and would have been perfect!!
Also loved the camping part, books with camping involved are always good!
Extremely recommend!!!

This was an okay read for me, I kind of expected more suspense after reading the blurb and a bit more of a true mystery plot. For me, the mystery fell a bit flat because of the main character, she wasn't really investigating anything but more so just accidentally finding clues that led her to the right people, which didn't exactly help with the suspense. I also didn't find the plot itself very complex, I figured out the ending early on and there wasn't really anything surprising about the turns the story took. I also found most of the characters quite flat which didn't really make me invested in their stories.
Overall not really my type of book, but I'm sure someone else could quite enjoy it.

Unfortunately, this is one of those books where the concept/synopsis sounds so great, but the execution just falls flat. Savannah's little sister, Piper, is in a coma after being found near death lying beneath what's known as suicide point. Savannah, who is dealing with a lot of guilt, is shocked to find a note in Piper's locker instructing her to attend a special meeting of the school's wilderness club, scheduled for the day and time of Piper's fall. What really happened to Piper that day? To find out, Savannah joins the wilderness club for their weekend-long camping trip...on the very same mountain where her sister fell.

Savannah wasn't exactly supposed to be a likeable character; that much was clear from the start. However, her guilt about her shortcomings as a big sister was real, and I thought she'd redeem herself further by sleuthing out the story's mystery. Yet, there was almost zero detective work on Savannah's part. She essentially threw accusations at every member of the wilderness club until they either stuck or were refuted. It seemed that other characters did all the work and Savannah's role in figuring out what happened to Piper was almost completely dumb luck. I know she's a teenager, but she could have come off at least a bit capable, rather than completely tactless.

Also, there was kind of a random romance thrown in here that was very, very unnecessary as well as implausible. Not every story needs a romance, but if you're going to have chemistry between two characters, it needs to be believable. Lastly, I disliked how things played out in regards to the individual, or individuals, responsible for Piper's fall. There was no real consequences for them, and while I agree with the story's argument that guilt is sometimes a worse punishment than any legal repercussions, it kind of feels like they got off scot-free.

So this is definitely the harshest review I've given in a while, but sadly I was just let down by this. It was still entertaining: I wanted to know what happened to Piper, but overall it was underwhelming. Of course, everyone has different tastes, so just because I didn't like this doesn't mean others shouldn't or won't!

How deep is a sister's love? This is a big theme in Dead Girls Can't Tell Secrets. Savannah's (the MC) sister is in the hospital in a coma and Savannah's family is being told it may be time to pull the plug.... Savannah is wrecked with guilt over her sister's accident even though it does not seem to be her fault. Savannah comes across a chilling note which leads her to suspect her sister's accident may have not be self inflicted (what most of the people think) and that someone was possibly out to get her sister!

In this twisty thriller Savannah is scrambling to find clues about what really happened to her sister, even if it puts Savannah herself in danger! I would recommend this book to anyone that likes YA thrillers/mysteries. The author did a great job of keeping me hooked to the book and I actually did not see the twist at the end coming!

Dead Girls Can't Tell Secrets is a well-done YA thriller. The majority of the book takes place during a weekend camping trip. Those on the trip are students from a local high school's survival club. When the story begins, the reader learns that Piper has recently been in an accident and her sister, Savannah, begins to question whether it was actually an accident. With the exception of a few chapters, the story is told from Savannah's POV. Due to her complex relationships with the various characters, the reader does not know who to trust, including Savannah. The book is definitely fast-paced and there are quite a few twists and reveals. Overall, I give the book four stars.

This book will have you sucked it. I couldn’t put it down. I found myself quickly turning the pages to know what happens to Piper. There are many suspects in the case. Savannah will prove that a sisters bond cannot be broken in this book.

This book has everything I love: sinister friends, secret clubs, and a mystery. I didn’t see this one coming and I absolutely wasn’t sure what was going to happen. But I absolutely loved it.

Smart, twisty, and a thriller in its own right. I loved the extra layers and it did not disappoint!

I loved that Savannah is struggling with this guilt- it wasn't exactly needed but it added that extra layer that polished up the story.

The book also kept me guessing. That ending- unexpected would be to say the *least*

Brilliantly twisted. One of my most-anticipated books for 2022, and it did not disappoint.. Was a big fan of Little Creeping Things by Ichaso, and looking forward to more books from her.

The concept of this book is such a good one. Everyone has secrets they're hiding from others. Those secrets can be devastating. Having said that, the characters felt shallow. The sister is so overwrought with guilt, and then she tries to find out what happened to Piper and she literally just blunders around. Theres no real "detective" work. She makes huge assumptions and leaps, just accusing everyone until FINALLY discovering the truth. Fleshed out a bit more, with some of the teen angst reworked to better fit a murder mystery this book has potential.

Piper and Savannah are sisters who are the definition of polar opposites.

Piper is a year younger, a Wunderkid, ambitious, smart, competitive, great achiever with perfect grades, tons of extracurriculars, guaranteed her place at Ivy League. On the other hand, Savannah with average grades, living in the shadow of her sister thinks how her life could be if her sister was out of picture. As if her prayers are answered, something truly tragic happens to Piper putting her into coma: probably she will never wake up!

The clues prove she might have committed suicide but her parents insist it was hiking accident. Savannah doesn’t believe either of the theories : she did something so bad to her sister that resulted with her silent treatment to her. Now she’s struggling for her life: the same competitive girl who falls for her best friend Noah and finally starts dating with him. So why she wanted to end her life when she finally found her happiness?

As a verification of her suspicions, she finds a note attached to her sister’s sweater which summoning her to extra skills sessions after school. The note is signed by Survival Club’s advisor Mr. Davis. The location and date of the meeting matches with exact date and place where her sister fell on September 16th.

Savannah attends to the Survival Club and finds a way to get sign from Mr. Davis to compare the signatures. She realizes Mr. Davis didn’t write the note her sister got. Who did write it? Is there any possibility that someone tried to kill her sister?

To find the answers of the mystery she attends to weekend long camping trip on the same mountain Piper fell with bunch of suspects who may be the perpetrator!

It was smart, high tension, extra twisty, quick paced, whodunnit mystery makes you keep guessing till the end!

I enjoyed Little Creeping Things but I loved this book more!
