Just what the doctor ordered. A damaged cowboy who rescues his woman. Jen is at a low ebb and Tanner has dogs. Add dogs into the mix and a chaotic circus ensues. The rescue scene was my favorite part Of the story.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Jen and Tanner. Jen is U-Tuber and Tanner works at a dog rescue for veterans. They live next to each other. Jen has lots of farm animals, goates, rabbits, turtle. There is a mutual between the two of them. They both have some issues, but together they work them out and find out they love one another.

This is the third book in the Second Chance Dog Rescue series and I loved following Tanner and Jen on their journey of love.

Jen and her mom have been a dynamic duo for years - they have a successful YouTube series together that keeps growing in popularity. When a new producer starts to come between them and prompts a very revealing exit from the show by Jen - she looks to start something new. Jen plans to start a homestead - growing all her own vegetable and living a sustainable life in a small town in Texas. Everything there does not go the way she'd like - with the exception of meeting Tanner.

Tanner is ex-military who is suffering from PTSD and still recovering from the physical scars of the events that ended his time in the military. Those added to the baggage he brought with him from his earlier life, all add up to someone who has a lot to move forward from. He's been working at the Second Chance Dog Rescue for a while - and when he meets Jen the connection between them leads to more than he thought he wanted.

There is a lot to like about this book - awesome dogs, wonderful friends who are essentially family, and even some action. My heart broke for Tanner so many times during this story. I am glad he finally talked to all the people he needed to - so that he could start building himself back up again. And Jen is clearly such a wonderful match for him. She had so much spirit - and seriously - I would have 100% thrown in the towel at so many points. She is way tougher than me!

Overall - this is a great feel good romance with some very spicy moments.

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.

Teri Anne Stanley brings us back to Big Change Dog Rescue with this one. I loved seeing Tanner work his way through his emotional and physical baggage and finding a perfect match for him. This is another home run by Stanley.

Take me to Texas why don't you.

I feel like I will be reading more of Teri Anne Stanley from now on because this book was exactly what I needed. The book follows lifestyle star Jen who accidentally has a mishap and has to escape to Texas where she encounters cowboy army veteran Tanner. I enjoyed the book because it was a mixed bag of suspense, mystery, and romance. The perfect icing was the ending and the author developed her character so well and made them so endearing. I was kindly provided a complimentary of this book by Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley and all opinions expressed are entirely my own

Heartwarming, fun, touching real life and painful issues with depth, sensitivity and heart, “Charming Texas Cowboy”, by Teri Anne Stanley (SourceBooks Casablanca), is a wonderful and very enjoyable read featuring an amazing, sweet and broken hero.
I liked everything about this story, but the Beta hero stole my heart: plagued with insecurities and feelings of inadequacy, yet so caring, giving and thoughtful.
What troubles Tanner are more the guilt, shame and remorse than the physical scars. He sees himself as a mess, unworthy. His internal musings are adorable and make him so relatable.
Jen is a great heroine, wholesome, vibrant, loving and so good for Tanner. Even her more unexpected facets are interesting.
I liked the awkwardness, awareness and reading things that aren’t really there in the beginning of the story.
I loved that Tanner’s scars aren’t the focus of the story and don’t define him.
This is such a fun read, with believable and likeable secondary characters, including the other veterans and their wives/girlfriends, and the antics of the animals (unforgettable, smart and undisciplined Trixie!).
The solidity and strength of the friendship and camaraderie between these people is a pleasure to read.
Great dialogue and wordbuilding, too.

Charming Texas Cowboy, turned out just as I expected it too. It took a few twist and turns along the way that made it interesting.
I think I fell in love with the dog, Trixie, before anyone else. Everyone needs a Trixie in their lives. I was proud of Jen for standing up for what she believes in.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
This was a very charming book, from the quiet and shy cowboy to the quirky and hilarious Jen the Homesteader, I have to say it was a great read.
Jen and her mother have created and become social media celebrities but their swarmy producer does not have their best interests at heart. Jen leaves to try Homesteading on her site unseen home.
Enter the cowboy who comes to her rescue a few times with her farming animals.
There are quite some twists and turns and suspense entwined in this great read.

Tanner is a vet with PTSD who works at Big Chance Dog Rescue and carries a lot of guilt for certain tragedies in his life. Jen has come to the area to homestead and create an online channel about the process. They meet when her goat escapes and his dog goes after it. He needs to rescue both now but is almost run over by Jen, out looking for her goat. This is just the beginning of the process of falling in love. But Tanner has too much self disgust to follow through at first. Then there is the kidnapping: things do not go smoothly for the couple. But love wins out when we have the lovely HEA.
This is a sweet story with quirky but lovable characters. Along with the romance is humor and adrenaline. I would recommend this book to my patrons.
