I read this book to my niece and some of these resonated more so with myself than with her. Especially noting the Piano Practice as it brought back some serious childhood PTSD when the last thing I wanted to do was practice. After a few minutes I was done son, I am certain there are children that also have these exact thoughts!

My niece enjoyed I Need a Hug the most. I think it was the adorable drawing of a porcupine that I honestly mistook as a trailer park squirrel, potato poh-ta-to. It was quite adorable I would have to agree.

Also, we mulled it over and there is no such thing as too many blueberry pies.

Overall, this was fun and much more insightful than I would have expected for a children's book! Bravo!

A poetry collection for young readers and it's a fun one!

With simple black and white illustrations in between, it is such a fun entertaining read.

This collection will be fun to read together with kids, or just to read it out loud.

Some poems are pretty hilarious, some make you curious about the stories behind and some are just crazy word play!

You will enjoy this one.

Thank you, author/artist and the publisher for the advance reader copy.

The author likes to make lists. Lists comprise the majority of his poems. Here are some samples: things to put salt on, what goes in an ice cream sandwich, items with the Thanksgiving pie, how to get out of piano practice, activities for the best birthday party, what to bring for the tree house.
The classroom teacher could ask the students to make lists of their own, and then come up with their own book of poetry.
