Okay, I had some mixed feelings about this one to begin with, but it came through with the goods in the end!

I thought the beginning lacked Nancy’s usually stellar storytelling style, but after about the first 10 chapters her usual style kicked in - in overdrive!

This was non-stop action once it got going! Not a single pause until the last page! And freaked me out just a touch more than once! But just a touch! I loved revisiting Alex and Logan as characters, and I’m loving that their story is a super slow burn! Add in the return of Kaely Quinn and a plot twist worthy of an Agatha Christie novel (but really, yes, it was total Agatha-style & every bit as unpredictable as one of hers) and you have a pretty solid combination! Just the right balance of creepy, action, unpredictability and character growth.

Definitely recommend for fans of romantic suspense - especially those who don’t mind it a little light on the romance and a touch extra creepy!

Thanks @bethanyhousefiction and @netgalley for the ARC, I was only required to provide an honest review in return.

Nancy Mehl's Dead Fall is one of the most suspenseful books I have read this year. She had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who was plotting the deaths of the FBI's Behavioral Analysts. Alex Donovan is joined by Kaely Quinn an infamous analyst. I loved how the characters were fully developed and the plot was fast-moving and kept me guessing until the end. Nancy also wove her faith through the characters' lives in a fantastic way. I would advise clearing your schedule, fixing a pot of tea, and curling up in your favorite reading nook for a fantastic read.

Dead Fall is the second book in the Quantico Files series and also brings characters in from Kaely Quinn Profiler series. I would recommend reading the other books before starting this book. Mehl once again takes inside the FBI"s Behavior Analysis Unit as someone is murdering people who have connections to the BAU or and leaving behind pages of a book written about their work. Is it the suspect one of their own? Can they protect their loved ones without sacrificing their own lives to appease the killer? Mehl has once again created a page-turner that will leave you guessing until the end.

Some have described it as Christian suspense, others as a romance. I say both.
With apologies to the author and publisher, I should have done more research as the book is outside my reading preferences.

I've been waiting to read this book ever since I finished Night Fall (the first book in the series) and I was not disappointed because this one was downright amazing!! It's the second book in the series, but it can be read as a stand alone; however, I suggest reading Night Fall first because you will understand Alex and Logan more. This book was a bit intense at times and really made you think about what would you do if you were put in such a situation and although there were a few people who were killed, none of their murders were graphically described. A few things that I loved about the book was that we got to see Alex grow in her faith and I loved how her friendship with Kaely helped her to be more confident - both as a person and as a profiler. Oh, did I mention that my favorite character Kaely Quinn from Mind Games, Fire Storm and Dead End (Kaely Quinn, Profiler series) is one of the main characters! I was thrilled to see yet another side of Kaely because normally she is so reckless in her pursuit of justice that she doesn't care about anyone else; however, in this book she is a part of a team, so she was more responsible and it added another layer to already complex character. Overall, this book was impossible to put down and it's definitely one of the best Christian suspense books I've read this year!! Definitely a must read for anyone who likes a good edge-of-your-seat thriller that has so many twists and turns that it's almost impossible to guess who the UNSUB (killer) was - I rate it 5 out of 5 stars!

When I read a book by Nancy Mehl I can’t do much else but read! It was so hard to put down and concentrate on anything else. The storyline was amazing and I loved the interactions. Kaely and Alex becoming friends and in a way passing a baton. To see them struggle with their faith and see God work. One of the experiences in the book is similar to part of my faith journey. I can’t wait for the next book to come out!

A diabolical serial killer is going after the best of the best in the BAU. The problem is, the profile keeps changing. Why does he know so much about them? Is there a traitor among their own?
Alex and Logan are working against time along with Monty, and Kaely, the daughter of a serial killer who just joined the team. They must rely on each other, their God-given skills, and faith to lead them in the right direction no matter what they face. I loved the distinctive personalities that each character had and the way their group bonded as a family.
This book is well researched and well written. It kept me twisting and turning long into the night. I couldn’t put it down.
I was given a copy courtesy of Bethany House a division of Baker Publishing Group. This is my honest review.

This book was SO GOOD! I loved it! It was a fascinating twist that people were being murdered from a distance. It made it hard for the profilers to come up with a workable profile. When they become the targets the tension and urgency goes through the roof. There are twists. It's full of action and wonderful suspense. It was a great read.

I liked that Kaely Quinn was again a prime character. Alex admires her and longs to learn from her. But Kaely's methods are a little unnerving. Alex has to figure out if that's a good fit for her.

This book reads like a Criminal Minds episode. I thoroughly enjoyed it and had a hard time putting the book down. I'd highly recommend it. Thank you to Bethany House for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Readers who love FBI thrillers will enjoy this second book of the Quantico Files series. BAU agents race to find the psychopath targeting their unit. High paced, well researched with likeable characters make this an enjoyable read. And a twist at the end. Looking forward to the next installment of this action packed series. Recommended!

The author does it again! Nancy Mehl is a fantastic suspense novel writer. Her characters remain the same in most of her novels so you get to know them well. She doesn’t write her books in sequence, meaning you don’t have to read the first one to understand the second one, but she does reference them in each other’s plots. It’s like revisiting an old friend. She adds suspense and mystery in every page, and you will most likely not know who the killer is until the end.
The author also includes threads of hope and forgiveness found in Jesus Christ in her novels as she recounts the characters relationship and dependence on Him. Nancy Mehl involves the battle between good and evil in the spiritual realm as well, which is an invited measure of intrigue to me.

This book is appropriate for young readers as it is not too gruesome or heavy. I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for my review.

I am reviewing a copy of Dead House, through Bethany House Publishers and NetGalley:

Alex Donovan is ready to move on and focus on her future at the FBI's elite Behavioral Analysis Unit after she puts to rest the most personal case of her career. But after the BAU’s confounder is discovered dead in his hotel room, the FBI is called in to work on the strangest case they've ever faced. But how do you find a killer who murders his victims from a distance?

After it becomes clear that the killer is targeting agents in Alex's unit, they are ordered into lockdown, sheltered in the dorms at Quantico. Alex bunks with controversial agent Kaely Quinn, and as they work together, Alex discovers in Kaely the role model she's never had--despite being warned away.

When Alex starts to question the type of agent she wants to become, things get personal because the brilliant killer strikes close to home. Now Alex will do anything to find the killer even at the risk of her own life.

I give Dead Fall five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

This is the second book in this series, and like the first it does not disappoint, and yes, I was stumped as to whom the culprit was.

Love that characters from past series are part of this story, including Kaely Quinn, and now someone is killing members of the BAU, and as the numbers mount we are with the team as they try to figure out who is the UNSUB.

Seems that no one is safe, is there a leak? We journey with Alex Donovan, yes she is part of this story, and the team as they race to solve whom is trying to destroy them.

This is Christian suspense at its best, and you will be page turning for answers, and surprises abound, and once the last page it turned you will be looking forward to the next book in this series!

I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Bethany House, and was not required to give a positive review.

Dead Fall by Nancy Mehl is one of the best mysteries I have read all year. She is a master at suspense and keeping you guessing.

This is the second book in the series and I was thrilled that Kaely has a role in this story. Kaely is the lead in the previous trilogy that could have been a lifelong series. The characters were THAT good.

In Dead Fall we continue the story with Logan and Alex (Alexandra) who are behavioral analysts for the FBI. They are facing their most crafty villain yet.

I dont want to spoil any of the plot twists and stories for you. But trust me that this is a wild ride.

What would you do in the situations the villain puts you in? Is it considered murder?

There are several secondary characters that add depth to the story. And there are possibilities as to who the villain could be. She will have you guessing until the end.

She is at the top of her game with Dead Fall.

Violence - several deaths but not disturbing imagery.

Dead Fall by Nancy Mehl is a twist of Criminal Minds with a taste of romance. I enjoy a good suspense novel that dives deep into the killer's perspective or mind. CSI is one of my favorite series about solving the mysteries because I loved watching the science and the evidence lead toward a captured killer or bad guy. With Dead Fall, Mehl is pretty much doing the same thing with a novel format. Alex, the heroine, was in the first novel, so she is a returning character. The hunt for the clues to solve the mystery lead the story along. The characters acting and reacting to the different elements that kept the story moving along. The mindset of the Behavior Analyists kept me glued to the story. There was a touch of romance, but too much. Maybe something for later. Overall, Dead Fall by Nancy Mehl is definitely a book that I want to add to my bookshelf. If readers enjoy CSI, Criminal Minds, or these type of stories, then I would suggest picking up this novel.

I received a complimentary copy of Dead Fall by Nancy Mehl from Bethany House Publishers, but the opinions stated are all my own.

This second novel in the Quantico Files series brings back profilers Kaely, Alex and Logan and Noah, all FBI agents that we have met in earlier books along with an interesting cast of characters. In this story, someone is targeting profilers. They appear to have a list of victims in mind and the profilers are trying to rush to make a profile on the killer before he kills the next person on his list. Reading this I gained a lot of insight into how profilers work and how they help their counterparts track down the criminals. I enjoyed the FBI theme, which is one of my favorites. There is plenty whodunit in this book, suspense and twist. I always enjoy Nancy Mehl's books and this one is no exception. I love that these FBI personnel are on the side of good and not evil and all have found a relationship with Jesus or are pursuing one. I like that the story is all about the plot with no salacious personal details.

I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

This is the second book in this series but can be read as a stand alone. This story is full of twists and turns and is unpredictable as they chase a manic physcopath. This is a religious romantic suspense and does have more religion than normal

This book is my new favourite of 2021. It's a page turner, unpredictable and it contains favourite characters from other series - what's not to love? Nancy Mehl kept me on my toes throughout the book, and will keep you, the reader in the dark as to what exactly is really happening.

I've been semi patiently waiting for it since finishing the first book in the Quantico series - "Night Fall" and it did not disappoint! I saved my reading for a time when I could keep going until I had finished, knowing that I would not be able to put it down - this proved to be a correct assumption.

The minute I finished it, I put an order though for my library. I got this free in exchange for an honest review - I could not be happier to promote it! While this could be read as a standalone, I do recommend the Kaely Quinn series as well as this will add texture to several of the characters contained in this book.

In DEAD FALL by NANCY MEHL, FBI behavioral analists Kaely Quinn, Alex Donovan, Logan Hart and Monty Wong, under Jefferson Cole, find themselves in the dangerous position of profiling a maniacal psychopath with unusual methods, who has just killed John Davis, famous author and retired profiler. The killer seems to have each of them in his sights!
The plot keeps you guessing until the end, the charaeters are interesting, and the author incorporates her Christian beliefs into the story. I partiuarly like to see Alex gaining confidence and a sense of belonging as she grows in faith.
I like the camaraderie of the agents and the hint of a romance, which started in the previous book in the series, getting more serious.
This thriller is an exciting read with many twists and turns as the FBI, together with the Montgomery County police, try to solve the case before anyone else dies.
I highly recommend Dead Fall as a really great read.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Bethany House Publishers. The opinions in this review are competely my own.
