London 1825
The three Ashton brothers needed to straighten up and their father's edict was going to make it happen. They had all been living dissolute lives, but now with their younger sister making her debut they had to try to redeem themselves

Rose had grown up next door to the Ashton family and had been friends with all of them, especially Thomas. At least until they moved away when he was ten. Now, she considered herself a spinster and it was her mission to protect young ladies from being ruined by the scoundrels of the Ton. Especially this year with her sweet sisters debut.

These two meet again after years and can I say it is spectacular, how they come together! I was seriously grabbed by the first couple of chapters and could not wait to see what would happen!

A new author to me, whose writing is so seamless with the creation of the characters and surroundings, I felt I was there! Cannot wait to see what happens in the rest of this series and I urge you to read this story!

This endearing story is about Rose, Thomas, revenge, and acceptance. Thomas is given an ultimatum to marry or lose his inheritance. He enlists Rose to help repair his reputation. Rose has had an tender spot for Thomas for years, so when he asks for help she agrees. However, she has her own motives. As they learn each others secrets they realize there might be more for them than just friendship. I was a joy following their story as they overcome some pretty dark stuff.

Childhood Love Triumphs 4.5*
There were a couple of Americanisms that showed this was not by a British author but this didn't spoil my enjoyment of an accomplished and absorbing story. Lady Rose is a delight and a true fighter, whilst Lord Thomas Newbury is typical in not thinking about marriageable females until he is forced by his father to think of taking a wife. I really liked how Thomas quickly gave no thought to what he would lose if he married Rose. Fast moving story with villains and tribulations to overcome before the HEA.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Spinster Lady Rose Timmons has one purpose in life after being hurt: protecting the vulnerable young women in London's Society from the scores of scoundrels who would prey on their innocence. Thomas Ashton, Marquis of Newbury and heir to the Duke of Kennet, is one of those Lady Rose has in her sights. Despite being a childhood friend, and a man she has long been fascinated with, Lady Rose is determined not to let his rakish behaviour spoil the debut season of her beloved sister or any other woman. Thomas, however, has his own ulterior motives, his father has given ultimatums to his three sons. Society, however, is not so eager to welcome home three prodigal sons. When he crosses paths and wits with Lady Rose, he proposes an unexpected bargain: if she will help him regain his reputation, he will help her destroy the one scoundrel she has never been able to touch, a man who has hurt dozens of people, including Rose herself.
This is the first book I've read by the author & the start of a new series. I loved it, well written with strong characters & a very well paced story. I loved Rose who was such a strong, capable woman, I loved how she had faced her demons. I also loved Thomas especially when he put his foot in it, which he did frequently. Their verbal banter was hugely entertaining & I loved how their relationship grew & developed. The road to their HEA wasn’t easy but it did make for an engrossing read, I look forward to Robert & Michael finding love
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

The first book in a new series, and the first time I have read a book by this author, I do hope to read more by her in the future. The plot is intriguing and kept my interest throughout, with suspense, danger, and romance. The childhood friendship between Rose and Thomas grows into a beautiful romance, although Thomas does have the unerring ability to put his foot in it. Despite her strength of character and determination to protect other victims of ruthless rakes, Ruth is easily wounded and like many women who have experienced abusive situations, she has flashbacks and folds into herself when faced with her nemesis. The Ashton brothers have gone rogue, despite the loving relationship between their parents and the obvious love they have for their sons. However, when papa bear roars, they all come to heel, each with their own obstacles to overcome. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and was delighted that it came to such a joyful and hope-filled conclusion. I received a copy of this romance as a gift from Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

To Stop a Scoundrel was a joy! The plot consists of 2 people who know almost instantly that they are meant for each other, which is a refreshing change from so many novels where the two lovers take a long time to figure it out. Additionally, Rose is older and ‘on the shelf’ as well as being an avenging angel for wronged women, all of which adds up to a lovely heroine. One criticism is that too much happens, there were just one too many obstacles to the HEA.

First time reading anything by this author and I loved it! The characters, their growth. The story. All of it was so well written. Will definitely recommend this book!!

Thomas Ashton, Lord Newbury and his two brothers have been given an ultimatum from their father. It's time to grow up and behave the way they should or face the consequences. That just might be harder to do than first appears.

Lady Rose Timmons is well and truly on the shelf, and uses her spinster status to behave in ways unmarried ladies normally can't. She has made it her mission to protect innocent young ladies from unscrupulous rakes.

This is an unusual historical romance. The characters, especially the heroine are different to what you might expect. There is danger, complicated families and some very sexy scenes.

This is the first book of a new series that I am already addicted to.

I loved it.

💋💋

My first book from this author, and I’m so glad I read it.
The Ashton Park series really is one to go for.
Full of intrigue and very tense emotional moments, there is also an attempted rape, so a warning here for those with triggers.

I loved the book and the characters(who I hope to see more of in subsequent books ), and the storyline, all of them were great.

I’m looking forward to Abigail’s next instalment with a happy smile.

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

Lady Rose is on the shelf so she tries to help the other young ladies from getting into bad situations they cannot get out of because of some sorry rake. Thomas Ashton and his brothers have been informed by their father they are to marry and stop the life they have been pursuing. Thomas and Rose where neighbors when they were young. Can they find a life together? Then the other two brothers also have to straighten out their life. I hope we will see more books in this great start for a series.

New-to-me author Abigail Bridges writes a great story about a scarred woman, Rose, who refuses to let what happened to her happen to any other woman. When Thomas, a childhood friend, decides to join the marriage mart, Rose’s protective nature rises. She soon finds out that Thomas is not the rake society thinks he is. He and his family set out to help Rose get justice against an enemy. Working together, they see strengths in each other that others do not see. I received an ARC from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for my honest review.

I absolutely adored this book. It was so easy to become invested in Rose's campaign and her as a character. I wish we had gotten to know Thomas a bit better outside of his relationship with Rose but I did enjoy him too. The premise for this book is not one I've seen before which was refreshing. And I loved how it played out. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series.
