'Leaders: My First Leaders' by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara with illustrations by Lisbeth Kaiser is a board book for toddlers to introduce them to famous leaders. Other leaders featured include Martin Luther King, Jr. and Harriet Tubman.

It's a good concept, but not one I'm sure would hold the attention of a busy toddler. Still, instilling good qualities in children is an admirable goal. The illustrations are colorful and friendly.

Using adjectives like brave and kind, these words are linked to leaders like Rosa Parks and Greta Thunberg.

I always love the little people, big dreams books. This edition is unique in the way multiple historical figures are included in one story. When I first downloaded this book, I expected an anthology of stories- one story for each person on the cover. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it is actually one story that includes multiple people with one defining characteristic. In this case, all historical figures are strong leaders. I loved the story and the message.

Leaders is a delightful and inspirational book for young children about six different leaders (alive and dead) who made a difference in the world to make it a better place for future generations.
This series is always a delight to read and this book is short but lovely for young minds. I love the illustrations and each book is a delight to read.

The sum of their publication of famous people who leads. A great reminder of them too, when you'd already read them all. And when you missed some, this book can help you remember which leader's story you haven't read yet.

This book was so interesting. It started off like a standard grandma books, full of facts and funny things, but when it gets into all the different cultures of grandmas is where this book really take off. For each culture you get “where to spot them”, “who to great her”, Wisdom to pass on, and a useful phrase to pass on. Plus the reader gets to learn about various customs like love spoons. This was incredibly well done and informative.

This book was so cute and fun to read. This book would be good in an elementary school for teachers to read to young children. It provided good information in a short and entertaining way that would be good for children. The illustrations in the book were amazing and well done.

I loved the opening sentence from this book, “Hello Little Leader! Let’s learn about braveness and boldness and kindness.”

That is a wonderful way to describe being a leader. I love the people that were selected as leaders. There is so much diversity, but it’s just mentioned in a natural way that this is what the world is expected to be like. Different Races, Religions, Cultures, Sexes, and Beliefs all can be Leaders.

These books are terrific for children, but think if adults read them, they would learn a lot, too. I always do. The pictures make the book even more inspiring and add to the unique quality. It is easy to imagine each character. Love how there was a picture of a refrigerator with post its on it, saying Avoid Plastic, Recycle, and Eat More Veggies. These are messages kids can put on their own refrigerators to help the environment. Simply examples, but powerful ones were mentioned about each leader.

So, I loved this book. It is fantastic for children who want to grow up and be leaders in the world. We need them, too as they are our future. Letting kids know that requires braveness, inspiration, and empathy is a great message. I would recommend this book to all people with young children. This makes a great gift, too. Also, schools and libraries I would recommend having a copy of this book. I am going to buy this book for my cousin who is having a baby. I sent her books last time for her first child, now I will send more from this series.

Thank you NetGalley, Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara, and Frances Lincoln Children’s Books for an ARC of this book. I always appreciate getting to see books from this series.

I liked all the different types of leaders that have made a difference in the world. There were some I had never heard of and I enjoyed learning of them in that book and then looking up information later.

This is a lovely book for the youngest children. With engaging illustrations, it briefly talks about some leaders and the quality within each of them that led to the designation. The book encourages young ones to imagine themselves as leaders one day.

Just a few of those mentioned in these pages are Martin Luther King, Greta Thunberg, Rosa Parks and Gahndi.

This is a book that gently makes known the need for leaders. It encourages everyone to think big, to notice their world, and to believe in change.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Little People BIG DREAMS
It all begins with a dream. This little book introduces some people who are known to many and shows what a good dream (vision) can do in the world. Perfect!
The illustrations are eye-catching and very well done. The language of the text is suitable for reading to young people and excellent for ESL.

This is an all-new board book primer from the multimillion-copy best-selling Little People, BIG DREAMS series, which provides children with informative and inspirational biographies about people who left a mark on this earth, no matter what difficulties they have encountered. I think these are a very smart and wonderful way to introduce little children to such important figures.

I think this is a great addition to a kid's shelf if they already have some of the other Little Leaders books that go into detail, because as a standalone I'm left wanting more information about the Leaders mentioned in the book. The illustrations are really nice though. This is a good introduction book and has a diverse set of Leaders.

This is lovely! A brilliant introduction for younger children, to some of the most inspirational leaders of change throughout history. Perfect for EYFS/KS1.

I liked this book! The illustrations are amazing, great message. The sentences are short and to the point, however, I found some individuals had more context and background and others didn’t. A younger child, who is the audience for this book, might not know some of the people and further context will need to be given. Diverse group or people and could open up conversations!

The Little People, Big Dreams series is full of cute, empowering stories, and this one is no exception. It highlights wonderful leaders of different backgrounds for children to look up to. The book, while short, will motivate young readers to be bold leaders as well.

This was super cute! Definitely a book I'd buy for friends with toddlers, and something that can kind of age up with the kid because it presents opportunities to share more about the featured people once they get older.
