Thanks NetGalley, Bookouture and Kristin Harper for an ARC to review.
An emotional tale of sisterhood, pure unconditional love, sacrifices, life priorities and second chances.
After their grandmother passed away, Rachel, Brooke and Jill spend their vacation in her beach house receiving daily letters from her unravelling a secret she kept all her life. They would decide thereafter whether to keep or sell the cottage.
Bonding over their grandmother's secrets and reassessing their priorities and life paths, the sisters reach a mutual decision at the end.
I loved it and would like to read more by the author.

Jill tells this story- well part of the story- of herself and her sisters Brooke and Rachel and her grandmother now deceased, tells the story of their family through 11 letters that arrive one at. time. Everyone has a secret (especially Nana Rose) but there's a lot of love to be had and to be found. Will the sisters sell Nana Rose's beach house? No spoilers from me but that's not the point of this lovely novel of family. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

I couldnt put this book down, my first read by Author Kristin Harper. She captivates a twins emotional states of circumstances,I know, because Im an identical twin myself.
Three sisters, & their Nana Rose's daily letter after she is passed away, reflects a deep dark secret . Dune's Island,a cottage that has been a summer family tradition for generations, brings Jill and her two sisters reuniting once again and a decision that may bring them closer,or tear them apart.
There is also the love story here. Alex who lives on the island is the helpful knight in shining armor from Jill's teenage past. He is a delightful respectable man now .
They learn a historical timeline of their grandmother and her twin sister, that is an emotional teary conclusion and yet brings a warmth to your heart. Each sister also learns of secrets each other is holding and their revaltions come out to each other one evening.
A story that tells of a family bond that clings each other's hearts closer together.
I didnt want it to end..and to my delight, there is a new series of Dune Island continuations, which I've ordered!
I want to thank NetGalley for this ARC & Bookouture Publisher, this review is my solely own.

It’s really strange how I seem to read books with similar themes one right after the other. I don’t just mean the genre, because I obviously have favorites that I will repeatedly return to. I’m talking about major plot points that are eerily similar even though the genres are completely different.
This is the case with this book and another recent read (The Guilty Sister). Two totally different approaches with the same twist. It is just illustrative of how unique a book can be, I guess. The other is a firm psych thriller, while this one is clearly family drama.
Three sisters arrive at their grandmother’s house for one last “vacation” and to decide what to do with the house now that their grandmother has passed away. It’s a plot point that has been done before, but this time, there is an added twist.
Well, a deeply hidden family secret isn’t exactly a twist, but the way it is revealed is unique. I loved the letter writing re-telling because (as Nana Rose says) it’s like narrating a story. It allowed her voice to be heard loud and clear, which I think was more effective than actual flashbacks.
I’m not going to say why that was important, but it was. Flashbacks would have lessened the impact of the secret. That’s all I’m going to say.
In addition to those revelations, however, there is also the storyline of the three sisters and how they both love and misunderstand each other. It was refreshing that they weren’t all at odds in the beginning (usually these “forced residence” requirements are used for reconciliation).
They weren’t all perfect either. Each of the sisters had something that they were hiding from the other two. And they argued. A lot. It’s what families do, so it made them totally realistic.
The perspective is primarily from Jill, but it’s not written in the first person. She’s just the focal point. I think that is one reason that I related to her the most. But I think it was also because she was a freelancer, so I understood her point of view on a lot of things.
Rachel and Brooke were more difficult to get a handle on, and I am not sure if that was by design or not. Because of that, I felt that the reveals for their secrets were a little awkward. But that was minor in the bigger picture.
Ultimately, this is a story of the importance of keeping family together at any cost, relying on those who love you the most, and doing what you think is right even though it may seem wrong at the time. I loved the images of the family traditions at Sea Breeze Lane, they sounded like fun.
I very much enjoyed this book and would recommend it.

Three sisters, each with problems and challenges of their own, meet for their traditional two week vacation together at their beloved Nana's oceanfront cottage on an idyllic island off the coast of Massachusetts. Sadly, this will be the first year on the island after their grandmother's death. In her will, she left the house to all three sisters. Each of them could use the money they would get from selling, but what about their heritage, and their memories? This is a heartfelt story about family loyalty and sisterly love. I truly look forward to recommending this to readers who enjoy a gentle romance and an engaging family tale.

This was one of those titles you curl up under a blanket and read with a cup of tea on hand. Super cozy with a focus on relationships and a dash of romance.

Three sisters return to the beloved summer home they had visited up until their Nana Rose could no longer go. Now they are back and need to decide what to do with the house now that Nana Rose is gone.
Jill cannot imagine selling while her sisters seem deadset on it.

A storm leading to several days without power.
A cute tree surgeon with eyes Jill cannot stop looking at.
And sisters all keeping a secret from each other.

Throw in a series of letters from their Nana Rose that provides a glimpse into her past and reveals something shocking to them.

A lovely, warm book filled with hope and love. The strong bonds between the sisters was well represented and although it could have been a sad story as the three sisters remembered their grandmother, it was in fact, filled with such positivity.
The descriptions of the house and beach made me want to be there myself.

I have never read any books by this author before. Absolutely loved this book, was a little slow to begin with but after a few chapters I couldn’t put it down.
The plot follow 3 sisters, meeting up at their Grans house after she has recently died. She sends them a letter a day telling them things of her past they never knew, it also follows the sisters individually as they come to terms with events in their own life.
I shall certainly look for more books by this author.
Highly recommend

One Liner: Heartwarming but could have been better.

Jill and her two sisters, Rachel and Brooke, are trying to overcome the grief of losing their beloved Nana Rose earlier that year. The old lady had asked them to spend two weeks at their cottage on Dune Island as the sisters didn’t every year. She has arranged to send them letters about her past; about things she never spoke to anyone.
The sisters bond as always. Yet, Jill can’t help but worry about the underlying strain between them. It’s the letters that give them hope to make decisions and live lives the way they wanted.
Being single at thirty-nine is not something Jill calls an achievement when her sisters have happy marriages. Still, she knows that she’d never settle for less. Her Nana Rose wouldn’t let her do that.
Meeting Alex, the handsome tree surgeon on Dune Island, sparks interest in Jill. But her priority is the letters and Nana’s past. What happened back then that the old lady could never share it until after her death? How does the past affect their future, and what does it mean to Jill?
The book is in the limited third person, with Jill’s POV been provided to the readers. The story starts with Jill and her sisters visiting the cottage for a two-week stay. However, things are strained between them. The elder sisters want to be practical about the cottage while Jill puts emotions first.
The past was revealed in the form of letters, and I must admit that I enjoyed the past more than the present. In fact, I wished the past was shown to the reader instead of being told in the form of a letter. The main reason for this was the lack of enough backstory to fully understand and appreciate the dynamics between the sisters.
With bits and pieces being shared, the rest is on the reader to assume and move along with the characters. The arc just wasn’t complete for any characters. They’ve been sketched and left to fend for themselves. It worked at times and didn’t at times.
The ending was realistic and still hopeful and happy. The book is small (250+ pages) and was fast-read. Though I love small books, this one probably needed a few more pages to delve deeper into the storyline and highlight each character.
Nevertheless, if you’re looking for a light read with a comforting storyline, A Letter from Nana Rose would be a good choice. Nana Rose is a great character and makes her presence/ absence felt in the book.
Thank you, NetGalley and Bookouture, for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

A Letter from Nana Rose is an endearing read. I love stories about sisters and receiving letters from their recently deceased grandmother to explain family history is and other favorite genres of mine. I love the beach setting and all the logistics the sisters have to contend with about possibly keeping or selling their beloved beach house. The revelation in the letters was not something I expected so it was a surprise. I love how readers get into the real stories of the sisters as the book progresses and they’re finally more honest with each other. I was on board with Alex, the tree guy, from the finest sentence. It’s a lovely story about sisters, family, history, and the importance of keeping traditions.

What a lovely story! Three sisters must stay together at their Nanas beach house after her death. A letter arrives every day. As Nanas secrets are revealed the sisters must overcome their own problems and decide if they will keep the house or sell it. Nothing likes good beach story.

I absolutely loved this book, could not put it down.
Jill, Rachel, and Brooke all gather at their grandmother's beach house for two weeks after she has died. Their grandmother has requested that they spend two weeks together here, as they have done their whole lives, before they decide what to do with the house. It is two weeks of emotional rollercoaster, with lots of secrets being revealed, bonds being formed, and life decisions being made. But at the end of the two weeks the sisters realize that through all life's struggles, the sisters always have each other.
Great story that makes you laugh, cry, and even want to yell!!

A story full of family love between three sisters and the wonderful relationship they had with their Nana Rose.
But Nana Rose had a big secret she kept from the family which was only revealed after her death and writing letters to the sisters when holidaying at the family summer house in Sea Breeze Lane on Dune Island.
I loved it when the letters were read revealing so much of the past which the sisters were aware of but then so many things they weren’t!
I found this book a real page turner and feel this is one not to be missed.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC. I loved every page.

So many people on Goodreads recommended this book so I requested an advance copy through NetGalley. A Letter from Nana Rose by Kristin Harper was just not the book for me,. There were many times I was going to give up but I did read it to the end, It was very simply written and very slow for my taste, but it was a heartwarming, sweet read. It is about three sisters, their relationships with each other and their Nana Rose, who left them letters to read together at her house on the beach, after she died. Their Nana’s house on Sea Breeze Lane was filled with so many happy, loving memories. The letters reveal a secret, which keeps the story a little suspenseful.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A book of secrets, sisterhood and memories. This book had me in tears, laughing and reminiscing about anything and everything. Nana had a big secret that she had kept from her family, the way that she told those that were close were through a series of letters. Even I was awaiting each letter to come. Rachel, Brooke and Jill showed the true characteristics of sisters, through emotions and love. This story was one that I could not put down and I can't wait to read more about Dune Island.

I couldn’t wait for this armchair travel back to Hope Haven on Dune Island, Massachusetts! As I flipped over the last page, I felt as though I’d been sitting on the Adirondack chairs on the deck with Jill, Brooke and Rachel sipping an iced tea and catching up on their lives. Kristin Harper writes a deeply evocative and emotional read, making me appreciate my time with her authentic characters.

After Nana Rose dies, her three granddaughters meet at her cottage on Sea Breeze Lane to spend two weeks together while they decide whether to sell the cottage or not. While they are there, their nana has, through her attorney, arranged for 11 posthumous notes to be delivered almost every day of their two weeks. Despite each arriving with more baggage than a suitcase, they put it aside to focus on the task at hand - a unanimous decision about the future of the family cottage.

I absolutely love Harper’s Dune Island books and her characteristic ocean setting! I think this one is the best yet. Harper explores the importance of family and the need to let the tragedies in life make one better, not bitter. Nana drops a bombshell in these letters that the girls didn’t see coming. Fortunately, it has the desired effect - it brings them closer together and helps them with the important task at hand.

Long buried family secrets, heartfelt sibling moments, all sprinkled with just the right amount of romance, this is a sweet read that you’ll want to enjoy this Fall when dipping your feet in the sand and hearing the waves crash isn’t an option.

This is a lovely warm-hearted read full of love, family and a little romance. I loved the family dynamics between the three sisters- each very different but such a strong force together. Reading the letters from their Nana was extremely emotional and brought alive the house and the beach surroundings with beautiful memories.

Whoa - when Nana Rose says she has a family secret, boy does she have a secret!

After Nana Rose passes away, her three granddaughters are left her summer estate - with the declaration that they must stay there two weeks while deciding what to do with the cottage. They used to spend a couple weeks each summer there, but it had been awhile since they'd all been back. After they arrive, the receive a letter from Nana explaining she had a family secret she wanted to share with them - and they'd receive letters for the next few days. Each day they anxiously await the letters as Nana's story comes out bit by bit. Meanwhile, the girls learn there are secrets they've been keeping from each other and they all come out, too.

I really enjoyed this book -- the beach, the sisters, the secret, romance!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary, digital ARC in return for my review.

Sisters Rachel, Brooke, and Jill have recently lost their grandmother, Nana Rose. One of her last requests is that the sisters would go on a trip together to their family beach house, and read her forthcoming letters which reveal a secret nobody has been told before.

The story is told mostly from Rachel’s point of view. The letters are told in first-person by Nana, and take us to various years past.

Rachel is 39, child free, and unmarried. She’s unhappy with her life and her job. It seems as though her sisters have the perfect lives: doting husbands, happy children, and careers they enjoy.

I really enjoyed this bit of drama fiction. I got almost as excited for Nana’s letters as the sisters did. The writing was enjoyable as well as the plot. I found the romance aspect a bit cheesy but sometimes you need a little extra cheesiness in your life! I didn’t like Rachel’s character a lot but I really enjoyed the letters and learning the family secret. This would be a great beach read or a cozy book after a rough day.
