Buckle those seatbelts and make sure you’re strapped in tight because you are in for a wild ride. From the first page, you’re hooked! You can’t believe doctor Grace is being kidnapped at gun point by a bruised and broken woman with a gunshot to the chest. You will not be able to put this book down because you’ll be deeply involved and invested in the lives of these incredible characters. Not to mention the witty dialogue and sarcastic commentary will surely make you chuckle but then you’ll remember how serious these dire circumstances are.. This book has it all….mystery, suspense, humor, and a touch of romance. What more could you ask for? Cari Hunter has penned another great read!

What a great read! I’m always excited when a new Hunter book comes out. She is such an amazing author and you never know exactly where her story might take you, but you do know you will be on the edge of your seat. While it’s hard for Hunter to compete with her own Dark Peak series (which has one of my favorite sapphic couples in a book/series ever) but I think this book comes in a close second, it’s that good. This was a thrill ride from beginning to end and I just loved it!

One of the things I adore about Hunter is that she almost always starts her books off with a bang. She knows how to hook a reader in instantly and she’s one of the best at doing it. Not thinking clearly, I decided that since I had twenty minutes before I left for a doctor’s appointment that I would get a few pages in. Big mistake! This book was exciting right off the bat so I felt like I was stopping on a cliffhanger, even though it was only the first chapter. Don’t do what I did and make sure you carve out a good chunk of time before you sit down and read this. This is the kind of book you will want to read in only one or two sittings because the book flows at such a good pace and the story is absolutely gripping.

Most of Hunter’s books don’t have the ‘by the rules’ kind of romance that we see so often in WLW fiction. While I love romance, I also love that Hunter doesn’t force romance into her books. This book had people seriously injured with their lives on the line so this was not the place to add in a fluffy romance. Instead, she took the quieter moments and used them to slowly develop a connection between the two mains. It went at the right pace for the book and was believable for the situation they were in. The fact she didn’t force the “I Love yous” in was just so appreciated. I wish other authors would read this to see how you can have the beginning of a love story, without forcing an unbelievable ending down our throats, and it is still very satisfying for us readers.

There is so much more I want to talk about but this being a crime/thriller, that has a mystery, I just don’t want to take the chance to spoil any of it. While the mystery itself is not very hard to solve, it didn’t need to be because all the exciting and thrilling moments is where the book really shines. The characters are wonderful and this book is one hell of a ride from start to finish. If you are a Hunter fan or a thriller fan, don’t hesitate for a second about getting this. If you are new to Hunter, this is a perfect first book to try. I think it showcases her writing and not only is this going in my favorites pile, I think this is one of her best.

Fantastic suspense thriller of one woman’s dire quest to rescue her kidnapped daughter. I don’t want to give away the plot of twists and turns so you’ll just have to read this gem for yourself. Loved it!

I love it. If you're looking for a crime thriller, I'd definitely rec this one!
There's only a four-day timeline is presented in the book, and Hunter is an amazing storyteller; the pacing is so good you'd never get bored. Each chapter will drop a clue that draws you to solve the puzzle, and Hunter certainly doesn't waste a moment on unnecessary dialogue or scenes. From the second page until the end, I was hooked.

There are three POVs in the book, Elin the mystery injured woman, Grace's a doctor, and Safia's a detective. The romance is not the main aspect of this book, but you can still witness the affection Elin and Grace have built between them in each chapter. There's also a relationship between Safia and Kamila(both side characters) which I wish there's more about them. Overall, I'm satisfied.

I marked a few Hunter's books to my to-read list a while ago, but this one is my first Hunter's book, and it won't be the last.

Grace is doctor who gets kidnapped by Elin who she learns that someone she loves needs her but in the process of doing that she gets beaten and shot and needs Grace medical skills to keep herself alive and to find out what really happened. Grace is caught off guard but she made a oath to help people. While they are on the run Detective Safis and her partner called to a scene of a crime as she follows the evidence it leads her to Elin but she realize not everything is what it seems.

I like how the author gave every character a POV that it wasn’t overlapping the story. Characters were flawed but strong even in tough situations. I like in the mix of all the danger there were quiet moments that give yourself a chance to breathe.

Loved it.

If you are a fan of crime thrillers this is a must read. Suspense builds from the opening scenes and like DS Safia Faris, the reader gets to try to keep up with Elin and Grace and figure out why these women are on the run leaving a trail of blood and a body in their wake.

Hunter continues to impress with her increasingly complex plots with enough twists to keep you turning pages. Scenes are easy to visualize and as always with this author, pull the reader into the car, the hotel room and the alleyways. Using alternate point of view chapters allows the reader to get into the heads and the hearts of the main characters. Elin’s bravery, Grace’s compassion and Safia’s ability to sort through the evidence make them and this story a memorable one. While romance is not a major aspect of this thriller, I did love the relationship between Safia and Kamila. Their scenes together in the lab at work or in their home added warmth and comfort to offset the danger faced by Elin and Grace.

An edge of your seat thriller. Something we have come to expect and always look forward to by this author.

Unbreakable drops immediately into action as Dr. Grace Kendall is kidnapped at gun point. Elin Breckenridge, has been beaten and shot and needs medical attention so she can continue on her quest. Detective Sergeant Safia Faris and her partner Suds are called to the scene of a murder in Hampstead Heath. As she skillfully follows the evidence she is quickly on the hunt for Elin.

Of course everything is not as it seems and that is part of the fun of this mystery thriller. I enjoyed the pieces coming together. Grace is wonderfully selfless and Safia is very intuitive. Elin is more one dimensional but a lot of that is because she is injured. I love how very British this is written. All the acronyms for police officers and titles that are slightly different than in the USA. Getting a cuppa and the snacks are so English. I like that Safia's culture comes to play in her food and even the name of her dog. This has some violence and minimal intimacy. I haven't read Cari Hunter before but I will be on the lookout for other books by this award winner. Thank you to NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books for an ARC ebook in exchange for an honest review.

Unbreakable is another in a long line of exciting novels by Cari Hunter. Dr. Grace Kendal is taken at gun point by a beaten and bleeding Elin Breckenridge. Elin needs all of Grace’s skills if she intends to stay alive. Grace is unaware that she is only seeing the surface of very troubled waters.
Hunter has written award winning and audience favourite mystery thrillers over the years and her streak will continue with Unbreakable. It is a savvy story more along the lines of how are they going to do it with a side dish of what the heck happened before Elin met Grace. The story places you right into the action and the suspense of not knowing previous events holds the reader’s interest firmly in hand. I enjoy novels that make me flip page after page to catch up to the storyline.
Hunter’s writing is stellar as always. Her characters are multidimensional and intriguing being placed in situations well out of their depths. The plot is not a new concept however the way Cari manipulates it makes it rise to the top. She adds a second plot which shows the situation from the policing side and how Detective Sergeant Safia Faris tries to make sense of Grace’s kidnapping and tries to rescue her. This multiplies the anxiety and stress levels of the reader in a good way of course. There is a small third plot involving Lowry which seems to fizzle out and could use a bit more rewriting and tightening but this is my only very little criticism.
Cari Hunter is one of those writers that I keep checking on to see when her next story comes out. Hopefully she will become one of yours.

Unbreakable. Grace is a doctor and has been kidnapped by Elin a woman with some nasty wounds that really should be in a hospital but refuses. However, there is a lot more going on that we learn throughout the story.
What will happen to Grace? Is she in trouble for helping this wounded woman and how in fact did she get these injuries.
Who can help and how can she get their attention.

This is an intense ride and you won't be disappointed.

I have read other books by Cari Hunter and look forward to the next one.

Unbreakable isn’t the first book by Cari hunter I’ve read but it’s certainly now my favorite. In this book, Hunter carries on her ability to write original and exciting thrillers. If that’s your thing or you’re looking for a new kind of spice, I highly recommend this book!

I don’t wanna give too much about the plot away but this story follows the perspectives of three characters, Elin, Grace and Safis. Elin owns and operates a security company, Grace a doctor and Safis a detective.

Elin’s past comes back to hit her in a terribly horrifying and heart breaking way which causes her to drop everything to save someone she loves. When injured while doing this she spots doctor Grace and initially threatens her to help. Grace isn’t really threatened but still helps due to her oath to help people. Safis is left with the aftermath that Elin left behind while fleeing a scene with her injuries which takes her on an adventure to find out what actually happened.

Elin is just a character you can’t help but sympathize with her the same way Grace did. She goes to extreme lengths to save the person she loves including putting her life on the line several times.

Grace has to be one of the most selfless characters I’ve read about in a long time. She puts her life on the line to help Elin. At first I was worried about a Stockholm syndrome like situation but Hunter does a good job and writing in a sense of self awareness within this character. Safis is also a very nice character, very understanding and observant.

Overall this book beat Desolation Point and quickly found itself as one of my favorites by Miss Cari Hunter.

I do wish the book was a bit longer or perhaps the aftermath of the whole situation was, would’ve been nice to see how everyone moves on from the drama or see Grace and Elin’s relationship develop further than Elin needing help to save the person she loved that was in danger.

I highly recommend!

This is another great story of intrigue and suspense, the kind that catch you from the beginning and you can't stop reading because the events are chained and keep you on edge until the end.

I prefer not to go into the details of the plot too much, it is better that you do not know much more than what the synopsis already explains, the story catches you almost only with the setting of the events, the atmosphere that the author created, the environment is almost like another character. It is mind-blowing.

To those of you who already know this author, I don't need to tell you much more that this is very much in line with her other stories. To those of you who don't know her yet, I can only say, what are you waiting for to choose any of her books?
