Another wonderful mystery from grand dame Leslie Meier! I love a cozy mystery and hers are some of the best in the game! Reading a Lucy Stone Mystery feels like pulling on a cozy sweater!

In the latest book in the series Lucy investigates a nursing home that might have something sinister hidden behind lovely furnishings and a slick website. Though this book is set at easter it can be enjoyed any time of year! I've read the other books in the series, but think this one stands alone for a perfect quick read!

I received a free ARC copy of this via NetGalley and the publishers in return for an unbiased review. This is the latest instalment in the cost mystery series featuring Lucy Stone and Tinkers Cove, Maine. Lucy’s friend Miss Tilley has gone to recuperate in a senior care facility after having pneumonia, and one of the residents goes missing, before being found dead in a stairwell. Overall the book is very good, though I felt like Lucy’s friends featured less than usual in this one - can’t say I miss Sue too much (cigarettes and black coffee, nothing else), but just an observation. Hopefully daughter Zoe becomes a bit less thoughtless in future books, she doesn’t seem to appreciate what Lucy and Bill do for her, or the cost of anything... anyway, the plot is a bit slow to get going, and then wraps up very quickly at the end, but it’s a decent cosy mystery book for those who like the genre.

Thank you #Netgalley for the advance reader copy of Easter Bonnet Murder by Leslie Meier in exchange for an honest review. Lucy Stone works at the Courier Newspaper in Tinker's Cove, Maine. An elderly friend of hers, Miss Tilley, has been in the hospital and is now recuperating in a nursing home. She plans on going back to her home soon. A lady is found in a locked stairwell, who had been missing for ten days. Leslie Meier has written a great story. I have read most of her books about Lucy and this one really grabbed my attention.

Easter Bonnet Murder by Leslie Meier is an excellent cozy mystery that is the newest installment of my favorite long-standing cozy mystery series: A Lucy Stone Mystery.

This is the first cozy mystery series I ever started reading and it is my favorite. It also holds a special place in my heart. After reading 28 stand alone books and several holiday-themed novellas/anthologies that included Lucy Stone, I really have come to think of the Stone family and Tinker’s Cove, Maine as part of my family.

I love how through it all, Ms. Meier continues to keep this series feel fresh, new, and updated, all the while being true to the main characters as they age and change with the times. Spot on.

I loved this newest installment. Lucy and Miss Tilley get caught up in a murder/mystery involving one of the local assisted living homes, Heritage House. Lucy has her hands full as she needs to use her investigative powers to solve the murder surrounding another resident, Agnes, all the while getting to the bottom of questionable billing practices, and helping her youngest, Zoe, apartment hunt in Portland.

Can Lucy solve it all and save the day? I really enjoyed reading the story to find out. There were a few twists that helped keep me on my toes, and as always with Ms. Meier, a positive ending for Lucy, her friends, and family that helped make me smile.

5/5 stars

I always enjoy a Lucy Stone mystery and this one was no exception. I enjoyed getting caught up on Lucy's family and friends but found the storyline itself slightly lacking.

Set in Tinker's Cove Maine, part time reporter and full time mother, wife, and grandmother, Lucy Stone continues to ruffle feathers in Easter Bonnet Murder.
Long time friend Julia Ward Tilley finds herself in assisted living, and Lucy Stone is aggressively keeping an eye on her, due to rumors that something is amiss at Heritage House.

A dead body in a stairwell tickles Lucy's curiosity, and soon she finds herself wrapped up in yet another murder investigation.

Lucy is one of my favorite characters, she incorporates life and work, taking care of her family, and the family dog. Lucy is practical, sarcastic, and down to earth, her character portrays life as it is.

I'm always excited to read a new book in this series and I was not disappointed.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of this book.

Lucy Stone has always had a soft spot for Miss Julia. So when Miss Julia heads to Heritage House for a while Lucy thinks the cheerful place will be a good place for her to recover from her ailment. As Lucy visits and sees more of the facility, she finds that older people are no different than younger people, particularly the mean girls that remind her so much of what her daughter has to put up with. But it’s when a resident goes missing that Lucy truly sees it for what it is.

Now Lucy is all in to find out what happened to Agnes as a result of the Easer Bonnet contest that seems to be tied to the woman’s disappearance. She just has to hope she can solve the mystery before she’s left with a cracked shell of her own.

I go back and forth on some long running series where one entry is fabulous, then the next reads like someone else read it, This, however is not one of those series, this is one of the best long running series I have read to date. I began reading it with the 22nd book in the series and have read most of the earlier books now too. It’s a solid series that keeps on creating new content and whodunits with clever red herrings and often takes on current topics too. A great series for anyone looking for a binge worthy series with a lot to offer.
