The first book in a new series featuring FBI profiler Laurel Snow. Rebecca Zanetti is well known for her ability to cross genre within a story line. So YOU CAN RUN is a romance, mystery, family drama, thriller and a little bit more mixed into a great book. I'm a sucker for the first book in any series. I love to see how the author will introduce the characters, community and the over arcing story lines that will make up the bones of a series. Zanetti has done an excellent job building a story line set within a realistic community and populated it with a few quirky characters. Laurel Snow is the central character. She has an eiditic memory, once she sees something, she can't forget it. Her high IQ and low tolerance for anyone who doesn't meet her standards, leads her to work alone the majority of the time. She's a perfect character to build a series around.
Laurel will be assigned to work a series of murders happening in her home town. This will bring her into contact with her family, a fact that doesn't seem to make either side happy. To search the surrounding forest, Laurel will work with a Fish and Wildlife officer who seems to be her match in attitude. The story moves quickly with clues woven into scenes that will keep you changing your prediction of the killer's identity often. There's plenty of tension, a little romance and several clues to an over arcing story that will have readers watching for book #2.

I've tried several books by Rebecca now and her books are just not my cuppa tea. I'm not sure if it's the writing style or what but unfortunately something just isn't clicking. I keep going back but fail. I love her covers and synopsis. They both always draw me in but once I get between the pages it's a wrap, nothing keeps me captivated.

Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book. I'm sorry I can't provide a review.

DNF @ multiple percentages.

Rating 1 star because NetGalley makes us leave a rating, this is not a reflection on the book itself.

My first and definitely won’t be the last book that I read by Rebecca Zanetti! Talk about a story that kept me on my toes. I loved it!

I voluntarily reviewed this book.

A solid start to a romantic suspense series. I enjoyed many of the POVs in the novel, especially Laurel’s. I think this book would be a great read for fans of the Bones TV show.

You can Run has everything one loves about a mystery thriller.
A crime that leaves the reader wondering who and why.
Characters that you makes you feel that you're right along with them figuring out all the clues.

Suspects.. oh the suspects.
I'm all here for it.

Many thanks to Tantor Audio and Netgalley for providing me with an eARC of this book.

Zanetti artfully joins the various characters with the action in this serial killer thriller, for a mystery that isn't far removed from the main character's life and personal history as it originally seems.

I love mystery novels, and I HATE romance novels, although it has become popular to “marry” these two genres, much to my frustration and dismay. However, although this author began her career penning 'bodice-rippers" (check her previously published list) this novel contained only one cringe-worthy graphic sex scene that I was desperate to "fast-forward" through.

Although It is almost impossible to find a mystery these days that DOESN’T contain a “romantic” subplot, this novel has well-developed characters and the main character's life is interwoven successfully with the storyline. I found myself engaged and entertained throughout the entire story.

Wowza! The prologue of this book was like a wild, crazy rollercoaster ride on steroids! Lauren Snow is an FBI Special Agent who is hunting a serial killer who has killed multiple women in her hometown of Genesis Valley, WA when she meets Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers. Huck is very secretive and doesn’t like anything that upsets his and his dog Aeneas’s routine. Lauren needs to trust him to solve this mystery and doesn’t like that she feels an unusual pull toward him.

To complicate matters, the local sheriff has made her uncle, Carl Snow, a person of interest, and Lauren’s mother has asked her to protect him. Lauren was conceived when her teenage mother ran away to Seattle and got pregnant with her. She knows nothing of her father so is very close to her mother’s family. She soon meets the mysterious Dr. Abigail Caine who has a strange interest in her as well as a cast of other suspicious characters.

This was a fast-paced romantic suspense story with a very twisted plot. I was quite surprised at several turns in the book and stunned at the ending. I am highly looking forward to the next installment and recommend this to other readers. I thank NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this in exchange for my honest review. I gave it four stars.

Good start to a new series. Laurel returns to her hometown and becomes embroiled in a murder mystery. Adding into the mystery are secrets from Laurel's own past coming to light. Slow burn romance starting with Huck. Classic Zanetti mixing suspense and romance.

This book was not a fit for me personally, but I’m sure it will land for others! I think if you like books with law enforcement protagonists, or super genius characters- it will probably be a hit. I do not enjoy those elements, but the author’s writing is solid, so I would definitely try another!

Thank you so much Netgalley & Zebra for the eArc!

Rebecca Zanetti’s books are some of my favourite binge reads in romance/romantic suspense genre!

However, this first book in a series, focusing on Dr. Laurel Snow is a little different from her other series.

Dr. Laurel Snow, FBI’s rising star profiler, is on vacation when a pile of bones is discovered near her hometown. Highly intelligent and socially awkward, this case turns out to hit quite close to home.

Add in the complication of an enigmatic woman, who could be her twin and the (un)welcome attraction to a fellow Fish and Wildlife Officer, Huck Rivers; this serial killer case hits more than close to home.

I usually can only read stand-alone books, even in a series; but with the panache of Rebecca Zanetti’s writing style, I am honestly looking forward to the next mystery for Dr. Laurel to solve.

You Can Run by Rebecca Zanetti is the first book in her Laurel Snow series.

Laurel Snow is a genius, young FBI agent of striking appearance with a particular skill for finding serial killers. Captain Huck Rivers is a loner, an officer, hunter, and tracker with Washington State Fish and Wildlife. Laurel and Huck find each other attractive but know a relationship between them is a bad idea. Laurel has to find the killer while navigating changes in her personal life that may or may not include a romance with a colleague.

Rebecca Zanetti’s new series starts off with a bang! The appropriately steady pace is an attention-keeper, and great twists I didn’t see coming are interestingly spaced, for never a dull moment. Laurel Snow is an interesting and complex new female protagonist. Huck Rivers is the epitome of manly. The character development is compelling and complete. You Can Run is a 5 star read that I highly recommend to all readers of romantic thrillers.

My thanks to Kensington Books, Zebra, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.

Zanetti's new book introduces us to FBI agent Laurel Snow, a unique woman for multiple reasons, including: her rare beauty and off the charts intelligence. The only child without a father, Laurel went to college as an adolescent and earned degrees in multiple fields. She now is one of the FBI's best serial killer hunter. While she can read a murder scene and get inside the head of murderers, Laurel is unable to read humans and interact on a social level. When she is called home to Genesis Valley, WA, she reunites with her family and meets new friends, one of which (Huck) elicits desires that Laurel does not how to handle. Will her interpersonal skills begin to catch-up with her investigative skills? It's a great read with an unexpected ending. I can't wait to see where Laurel's story goes next.

This is an awesome book! Deidre Snow is my favorite character. I'm not sure if I like Abigail Snow. I didn't know who the killer was.
