This action packed, page turner is the first in a series about FBI profiler, Laurel Snow. Laurel is a genius and reminds me a lot of the Dr. Temperance Brennan character on the TV series Bones (as opposed to the character in the book series which was very different.). Aside from being a genius, Laurel also has heterochromia. A serial killer is loose in her hometown in Washington State and she must figure out who it is before her Uncle Carl is falsely accused. Lots of twists and turns kept this reader from putting the book down.

I read an ARC provided by NetGalley.com This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

I don’t read thrillers very often but when I do I’m very critical about the plot, character development and story line. I loved this book. I was in the edge of my seat for the whole story. I loved the plot and the character development was great. I lived the different point of views between the two main characters and the little bits we got from the victims and the killer. I was back and forth on who I believed the killer to be. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

You Can Run (Laurel Snow #1). By Rebecca Zanetti. 2022. Zebra Books (ARC eBook).

You Can Run didn’t grab me as well as Zanetti’s paranormal Dark Protectors, or more similarly, the romantic suspense series, Deep Ops. But it is still a good start to a series. FBI agent Laurel Snow returns home to a small Washington town when a serial killer’s dumping ground is discovered in the mountains. She’s paired Huck Rivers, a search and rescue officer who is currently on hiatus from Fish and Wildlife. Laurel is a child prodigy which is a tricky sort of character, but as the story progressed, she was a likable character and definitely better adjusted than some other characters that provide the twists and turns.

You Can Run is a gripping psychological thriller with a strong heroine in Laurel Snow and a page-turning story that kept me guessing till the end. I'm looking forward to the next in the series to find out how things develop between Laurel and Huck, Abigail and the rest.

THis book kept me on the edge of my seat. It is the first in a new series, and I am looking forward to see where the series goes. It was great to see the head profiler a woman. Her strength was beyond anything I would ever know.

I loved this book. Great start to a new series. It had a lot of twists and turns that made it a page turner. I can’t wait to see what comes next.

A really fabulous suspense/thriller/FBI/serial killer story with a slow burn romance on the side. Well written and I had to keep reading until I finished. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC. 5 stars.

This was my time reading a book by Rebecca Zanetti. It was exactly the kind of story I usually go for -- mystery, quirky characters, and maybe a bit of romance thrown in but not the focus. It is similar to Criminal Minds, which I enjoy watching. Unfortunately, it was not a good combination in this book.

I liked the setting (especially since we got a surprise winter storm in the middle of my reading of it) and the basic storyline. Laurel Snow was a bit over the top in her mannerisms. I just didn't connect with her, or even like her very much. We kept getting told how amazing she was, what a genius she is, how she is a prodigy...yet there's so much about her that was just MEH. I don't even use that word, but it's the only thing I can use that fits her so well. There was also a random sex scene in the middle of the story that didn't fit at all. It just served to make the rest of the book feel awkward and tense. I do plan to read the second book in the series to see if I like that one better.

As usual Rebecca Zanetti never fails to produce an interesting novel. While that is not my favorite genre that she writes, she still never fails to draw interest with her writing.

You Can Run is an excellent psychological thriller by a master in this romantic subgenre. I found Laurel Snow, the young FBI agent to be extremely intriguing. She was one of a kind - a child prodigy, with several degrees under her belt, having started college at 11 years old. On her way back from a case in California, she made the decision to go back home. Her mom explained that her uncle Carl was suspected of several murders of blonde women. And she was a profiler who could help him much better than the local sheriff could.
Once there, she met Huck, the inspector from the Fish and Wildlife, who were going to look into the case. They really didn't want the FBI's involvement, but Laurel was not about to let anyone tell her she shouldn't be there to help solve the case.
The thrilling excitement, the chilling weather, and the many suspects made this suspense so, so good. Of course, the extreme chemistry between Laurel and Huck was nothing to sneeze at, and only made things that much better.
Zanetti is so good at this genre, and if you're looking for a hot romance, that is much more with the psychological thriller part, this is definitely the book for you!

FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow was a child prodigy, entering college at age 11. Laurel holds many degrees but decided to hunt serial killers for the FBI. Laurel was called back to her home town to hunt a serial killer when bodies were found off of Snow blood Peak.

Huck Rivers, works for Fish and Wild life. He is the best search and rescue person around. Huck is broody and not a people person he was called in to run the task force with Laurel.

This was a really well-researched book and I felt that it was realistic, as well as, entertaining.

The start of a new series. A wicked smart FBI agent with an eidetic memory, heterochromia, and a Sherlock Holmes way of solving crimes. Laurel Snow is called to her hometown because her uncle is suspected as a serial killer when teens inadvertently uncover dozens of remains after causing an avalanche. Along with the sexy Fish and Wildlife officer, Huck Rivers, Laurel uncovers more than just a serial killer.
A great book, I stayed up way too late to reading it. I love Zanetti's suspense way more than her paranormal. This is mostly a suspense, I would rate it PG-13, it has one spicy scene but the romance is not quite a romance but a hint of what could come. I would definitely read the next book in the series, and we have already been introduced to Laurel's own "Moriarty".

You Can Run by Rebecca Zanetti is the first book in her Laurel Snow series. This book is a bit of everything: suspense, murder mystery, with a bit of romance thrown it. The book is well written and very enjoyable. Can't wait to see where this series goes!

I was provided a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest and fair review.

I have heard about Rebecca Zanetti on the podcast I listen to but I’ve never read anything by her so I was excited to read her new release. It wasn’t quite what I expected – especially since spoiler alert but there’s no HEA at the end! Granted I have been really distracted with work over the last month so I was picking this one up and putting it down a lot more than a normal read. Made it a little harder to stay focused on the story line but even still I just had trouble connecting with the heroine. She was really interesting at first with her high IQ and her eccentricities but then she felt so normal for some of the book too. It felt like a weird dichotomy of characteristics that didn’t end up jiving for me. Overall it was an interesting book and I think people would definitely enjoy it but I didn’t love it.

I really enjoyed this book. There was tons of suspense, intrigue and danger. Laurel and Huck “sigh”, I need more romance for them! They make such a great couple, both good, strong people but each had some major issues and quirkiness. The secondary characters are interesting and the town a bit strange. I’m looking forward to reading the next book

YOU CAN RUN is the first book in Rebecca Zanetti's new Laurel Snow series, and I’m expecting great things. Laurel Snow is an FBI special agent and profiler extraordinaire with OCD-like tendencies. She’s young, she’s focused, and she’s a genius. Serial killers in her sights don’t stand a chance. Zanetti sets up the long game of the series arc by peppering in details that count, like the reason Laurel doesn’t have FBI backup is because there was a hiccup in creating a special violent crimes unit nearby. Enter Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers, the best hunter and tracker in Genesis Valley. He’s a loner, who, with his dog Aeneas, is called in as the last resort most of the time, but now he’s Laurel’s best bet to navigate the icy tundra.

Wow! What a ride! It's been a long time since story had me this engaged and will definitely be on my best of 2022 list. I was hooked right into this story from the opening pages.

FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow is an expert profiler. When her mother asks her to come home because her uncle is under suspicion of terrible crimes, Laurel finds herself right in the middle of a active serial killer investigation that brings new revelations in her personal life. More about that in a minute.

Huck Rivers wants to live a solitary life as a expert guide and wilderness rescue. He's not big on peopling but when Laurel comes to town and needs his help to find the serial killer, he is intrigued with the special agent. There's a whole lot of spark between these two and I especially liked how the relationship between these two developed. It seemed like things were going in the right direction by the end of this book, so I'm hoping there will be more of Laurel and Huck in future books. They really leap from the pages when they are working on the case together.

I loved Laurel's journey to understanding more about herself. The creepy Dr. Craine was an interesting part of the story that left other loose ends needing resolutions. I'm not sure if I want to see her again, but I like that all of the characters had a big impact on this reader.

So overall, I found everything to be perfect -- the story, the pacing, the characters, the way the it kept me guessing until the very end -- and I can't wait for more. This is my first title I've read from this author and I am hooked. I want more Laurel Snow!

Laurel Snow must make her way back home to investigate a series of gruesome murders. And what is even more sinister is that she seems to have a connection to the killer. The last thing she expected to find was a relative she did not know existed and an attraction to the world's most growly law enforcement officer. Huck would prefer to work alone but he is drawn to Laurel in a way he does not understand. Despite his standoffish behavior and gruff personality, she seems to be able to look beyond it all and reach him in a way that surprises him. But there's a killer out there and Laurel is in danger. He's determined to keep her safe and catch the culprit in one go.

You Can Run is the first book in the Laurel Snow Thriller Book Series. Laurel Snow is a new character in the world of Rebecca Zanetti’s writing. She is a brilliant child prodigy with an eidetic memory. I loved the first time you see her. She is in an airport working her schedule on her phone while her FBI boss is firing off questions about details in the airport. She answers every one without taking her eyes off the phone. Then she sees something suspicious. It’s suspicious to her but not to the average person. It’s a simple scene but gives great insight into Laurel’s character.

Laurel’s mother frantically calls her asking her to come home and help with an investigation that is focusing on her uncle for murder. Family is important to her so she goes home to help with the situation.

She meets Huck Rivers, a former military sharpshooter who now works for the fish and wildlife office. Things did not go well in a previous case for him so he secludes himself in his cabin in the woods and avoids contact with people when he can.
