You Can Run by Rebecca Zanetti was an excellent start to a brand new romantic suspense/thriller series based on child prodigy-turned-FBI profiler, Laurel Snow. This story was intriguing and addictive leaving me wanting more. I loved the way Zanetti was able to introduce characters. She gives enough information to make the reader feel like they know each of the characters but leaves enough to keep the readers hooked as the series progresses.

Laurel Snow is one smart cookie, but unlike another highly intelligent character in the story, she still remains personable. She was an interesting character and I can't wait to see how she develops further. The hero, Huck, gave me mixed feelings - nothing bad, mostly that I don't think I got to see enough of him. There were lots of glimpses into his life and personality that make me think I'm going to like him as the series progresses, but for now I just want to reach into the book, grab Huck by the shoulders and shake him, saying 'stop being stubborn and just kiss the woman already!' You Can Run is a slow burn so I'm expecting more of the romance in the rest of the series.

Overall, I really liked this book and it's array of characters. I can't wait to see more of the characters - both main and side characters - and what mystery Laurel is going to have to solve next (which the help of grumpy Huck, of course!). Zanetti is a great author and You Can Run is another example of her fantastic storytelling ability! I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Zanetti's previous work, or romantic suspense and/or slow burn romances.

After finishing this story, I just wanted to jump up and shout, whistle and applaud because Wow what a great story!
The people in the story were off the charts unique, interesting and drawn with great depth. Flaws and all, something that they all had as well as some really unique skills too. Beginning with brilliant but socially awkward Laurel and grumpy "leave me alone" Huck. His search and rescue dog, Aeneas was probably more social than he was. One thing that Laurel and Huck found out they had in common was they didn't work closely with others. And that presents some problems.
As time went on they did gather some pretty interesting people. Walter Smudgeon who seems like such a misfit, also Kate and her daughters, Val, Viv and Vida. They were a continual surprise. And a good one at that. Even Laurel's quirky mother was drawn more into the story and held her own surprises.
This story was filled with plenty of other surprises and tense drama. Even though we are talking about cruel murders, it was unraveled in a good way when it came to finding out who was behind it all.
It all ended with a good ending which left me wanting more of this group of people and their community. I really do hope there will be more as a series because dang! I really liked Laurel a lot.

Really enjoy this! I like the whole serial killer on the loose with some romance going on. Laurel Snow is an FBI agent with an eidetic memory, who was a child prodigy type, so she’s a bit quirky. She kind of reminds me of the TV show Bones; I liked Laurel’s quirks and would’ve liked to see her use them better to solve the crimes. She travels back home because her uncle is a suspect when lots of bodies are discovered in some snowy mountains; I enjoyed the chilly setting. Along for the ride is Fish and Wildlife Officer, Huck; love his gruff mountain man attitude, but didn’t quite feel the connection between Laurel and Him. The romance wasn’t quite to my liking; some of Huck’s past and present actions turned me off to him. This story deals with some dark things, so there may be some triggering things; not too detailed though. This does have an ending for the main case, but there are other things that will continue on into the next books. The story moved a little slowly at times, but I’m excited to see where the story goes! I’m going back and forth between a 4 and a 5 rating, but overall, the writing was good and the story is entertaining, so a 5!

You Can Run by Rebecca Zanetti was a breathtaking thriller full of suspense and twist. It had a gripping storyline that will keep you on your toes and keep you guessing. Lauren Snow was a fascinating character with wit, sharpness and a certain level of admirable fierceness.
.
Lauren Snow, a special FBI agent was headed for her home in Washington state anyway but an urgent call from her mother expedited her decision. A serial killer is around and her uncle is a suspect. She reaches Genesis Valley and her superior asks her to take help of Captain Huck River. As she starts the investigation, it becomes clear that it's not an easy case. And somehow she is being targeted by the killer personally.
.
This is book one of a brand new series and though it doesn't categorically doesn't end in a cliffhanger, you would have unanswered question. It was fast paced and action packed. It held my undivided attention till the very end. The adrenaline rush is real. I love how complicated and exhilarating the hunt was. Lauren is a fabulous female lead. Her genius mind. Her focus. Her intensity. I also enjoyed how the story had emotional layers. Huck Rivers is another story. A loner, a damaged man and an alpha you will instantly fall in love with. But they are not at a place to start a relationship yet. The chemistry is definitely there. But they were stressed and stretched by a serious case where the killer is ruthless and cunning and just evil. I hope to see more of their unique bonding in the next books.

I reviewed an early copy voluntarily through Netgalley and the publisher.

I received a copy of this book for review from NetGalley. As an FBI agent, Laurel never expected to get the call that her beloved uncle was a suspect in a serial killer case. To save her uncle from an incompetent sheriff, she had to pull rank, and work on an interagency task force with the grumpy but handsome Fish and Wildlife Agent. They needed to combine their talents and resources to unearth family secrets, and catch a serial killer.
While I'm not a huge fan of the "genius who is bad at social interaction but knows everything else about everything" trope, this was an engaging and exciting mystery. It definitely falls further on the side of mystery/thriller than romantic suspense, but Laurel and Huck had decent chemistry and worked well together. For once, I was surprised by the identity of the killer, but there were just enough loose threads left to make sure that this will absolutely be a series, not a one off. I will be interested to see what happens with Abigail down the road, and I was also left wanting more information about Huck. Overall, this book was enjoyable, and it was a good start to a series. As usual, the best character in a Rebecca Zanetti book was the dog, but I am always ok with that, and I will accept even a fictional Good Boy as the true hero. If you enjoy mysteries with a small side helping of happy for now, this can be the book for you.

Wow! This was the best suspense romance I’ve read in a while. Laurel is the most interesting character. Always logical and introspective. I loved her! Every character was perfect in their own way. At every turn, my thoughts on the main suspect were challenged. I was kept guessing until the very end. I can’t wait for more! Let’s see what trouble Laurel and her team can get into next. 5 stars!!

This is one book that you will stay up way too late reading as once you start, you do not want to stop. The main characters are intriguing and complex. Laurel is an FBI agent who is back in her hometown after her mom calls asking for help after the sheriff talks about arresting her uncle. She encounters Huck with the Washington Fish and Wildlife, who helps her navigate the mountain where the bodies were found. He is called into helping her with the case. They encounter twists in the case, personal revelations, and a multitude of suspects. The secondary characters are well developed and add balance to the seriousness of dealing with catching a serial killer. The lighthearted moments give you time to take the latest revelation and try to figure out who the serial killer is. Very well done as I missed clues in figuring it all out.

Snow is awesome
This story is in true Zanetti fashion. Except, ya know, no supernatural or apocalypse in it. The style of writing and the character development is consistent.
The story is quite beautiful. Laurel Snow, FBI, returning to her home town to catch a serial killer. Snow puts you in mind of temperance Brennan (bones tv not book).
She doesn’t pick up certain cues, she doesn’t make friends easy, and she’s very bookish in her thinking.
There are several twists and turns that make the story fun and interesting. Unexpected moments followed by expected. It’s just a great story.

I absolutely could NOT put this book down, it was just that great!! I am a fan of Rebecca Zanetti and I still haven't found a book that she has written that is bad!! This book was very intriguing and I enjoyed reading as this mystery unfolded. I think Laurel Snow is a character that has depth to her and I enjoyed as layers were revealed while reading this book. Although I didn't guess who the murderer was, I definitely enjoyed reading this book and look forward to more in this series and I honestly can't wait to read more stories about Laurel Snow. They're definitely is a plethora of twists and turns that can happen with this series and I am excited to jump on board! I would highly recommend this to every reader out there! Thank you again to Rebecca Zanetti for another phenomenal book and for giving us something to look forward to as the series progresses!

**4.5 Stars**

A new romantic thriller series by one of my all-time favorite authors? Yes, please! Rebecca Zanetti is back again with another winner. This time, the series will follow Laurel Snow, a young FBI Special Agent. Laurel, a genius who graduated college as a teen, is socially awkward but passionate and competent. She is called back home after her uncle is named as a suspect in a murder investigation. Her specialty is hunting down serial killers, and what does she find when she comes back home to Washington state? A serial killer on the loose in her hometown.

This book is fun and fast-paced. Zanetti does a great job of introducing an exciting and eclectic cast of characters and setting the stage for a more extended series without weighing down the plot with too many details. The whodunnit murder case has lots of twists and red herrings that kept me guessing until the very end. As with all Zanetti books, there are many wild surprises for the reader, even outside the heart-pounding action scenes. Secrets, lies, romance, and murder in a small town… so fun!

I am really, really excited about the love interest in this series. These books will follow Laurel, so the romance was just in its beginning stages, but Huck Rivers, her Fish and Wildlife partner in WA, is the gruff mountain man with secrets you will fall for along with Laurel. He takes no bureaucracy bull but has a soft spot for a certain new-in-town fed.

As I mentioned, the supporting characters are equally as fun. Zanetti writes great alpha heroes, but her female characters shine! In this book, Laurel’s secretary and three girls along with Laurel’s mother stole the show. And we’re just getting started??

Selfishly, I did want a little more time on the romance, especially the signature Zanetti steam, but I can tell that’s coming! I also didn’t love a few morally grey characters; one, in particular, made me really uncomfortable. I think that was the point of her character, but it dampened my reading enjoyment. She skeeved me out!

Overall, I absolutely cannot wait for the next book in the series. I love romantic suspense, and this book hit all my “love” buttons! The winter setting is perfect for the season, too. Highly recommend.

Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) provided by the Author and Publisher via NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

"You Can Run" is awesome and you can really see how Rebecca Zanetti has matured as an author. No paranormal, no cute romance, this is a really great Romantic-Suspense with flawed characters and a baddie that you would never suspect and isn't revealed until the very end - my favorite kind. As the first in a series, I can see where this series is going to get very interesting, and I can't wait.

FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow is a child prodigy. She attended college at age 11 and has been hunting serial killers for years. She is very, very good at it too. When a pile of dead bodies pointing to a serial killer is found in her hometown of Genesis Valley, WA she volunteers to head the investigation which leads to all sorts of interesting characters. Huck Rivers, her Fish and Wildlife partner on this case stirs an attraction that has no place in a murder investigation. Dr. Abigail Caine might have had contact with the killer, but her interview sets off all sorts of warning bells for Laurel and Huck.

Huck Rivers is a solitary kind of guy. He is more comfortable working with his canine partner than with the human variety. In other words: he doesn't play nice with others. His instant desire for Laurel is more than an annoyance as she just keeps showing him what a phenomenal person she is. His protective instincts for her are on high alert, especially when the killer targets her.

This killer is smart, connected to the community and knows his way around the rugged terrain of the area. Finding him will take everything both Laurel and Huck can bring to the job and neither of them will be the same after this is over.

You can run is the first book in a new series by Rebecca Zanetti. It’s a thriller series with hints of romance centered around FBI profiler Laurel Snow. While on her way back to Washington DC, Laurel must go to her hometown of Genesis Valley Washington because there have been several bodies found on snowbound peak. She has been sent there because she specializes in serial killer cases. While they’re one of the people that she meets is captain Hook Rivers who is the fish and wildlife officer guiding her to the crime scene. They have an attraction but it is a side part of the story.

Laurel generally does not work with a partner and often has time missing underlying issues in social situations. She is very good at her job but this time it’s a bit different being that it’s in her hometown. This book is a wonderful example of a thriller that has romantic elements. The romance really is a side part of the story but I had so much because it helps you understand the characters. It’s definitely a thriller because the story keeps you guessing until the end. You often feel like you are on the edge of your seat as you see Laurel pursuing the killer. Laurel and Hunts hooks relationship feels natural and does not take away from the thriller elements of the story.Rebecca Zanetti has created a wonderful female character and I look forward to future books with Laurel snow.

FBI Agent Laurel Snow is one of my new favorite female characters. She is brilliant, not really comfortable with people, says what she means and is often unintentionally amusing. She has returned to her hometown, at the request of her mother, after an avalanche uncovers female murder victims. Huck Rivers, an officer with Fish and Wildlife, is in charge of the investigation and Laurel is asked to assist, though he would rather she didn’t. As more women are murdered, their investigation reveals new twists and turns as she makes Huck feel as if he is running in circles. When they spend one night together, he tells her that it was a “one off” which she felt was rather rude. Will Laurel learn what happened to her father and how will she and Huck deal with their “friendship”? I really enjoyed the back-and-forth dialog between Laurel and Huck and Dr. Abigail Caine proved to be an excellent addition to the cast. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

You Can Run begins the A Laurel Snow Thriller series with an explosive, addictive, intense thriller that has me hooked on this series for however long it runs. Oh, my goodness — this one is so good, so diabolical, and so smooth in both the writing and the flow of events and clues along the way right up to that ending. Yeah. If you love a good Thriller/Crime/Mystery or Romantic Suspense story then you need to go grab You Can Run right now.

Laurel is an exceptionally brilliant woman, an FBI agent with a well-documented history of solving crimes involving serial killers. She’s returning to her hometown where several murdered young women have been found — and her uncle is a suspect in this case. She is a genius, and like many intellectuals, she often misses emotional clues or signs which only endeared me to her as she stumbles through emotional situations. Huck, former military and currently a fish and game warden will lead her into the forest where the crime scenes are. He’s reclusive, doesn’t trust easily (if at all) and the growing attraction between Huck and Laurel adds that romantic touch to a very intense situation. In my opinion, You Can Run crosses into several genres, a touch of romance here, a bit of mystery there, and lots of red herrings and twists the reader won’t see coming as well. Combine it all together and you’ll find a story that compels you to finish it in one sitting if at all possible, characters who leap from the page (good or evil), the building of a world with a light touch but enough going on that somethings will weave through the series as it moves along.

I enjoyed myself immensely in this world, and I cannot wait to return. Since this is a mystery/crime story I’m not going to give away any hints… you need to discover those for yourself firsthand. The writing is smooth, the plot twisting, and the characters believable plus the hints of more to come in future books pulled me in as well. I can see myself getting lost in this series, always waiting for the next release (as I do for a few other long-term crime series). This mystery is wrapped up in You Can Run, but the building romantic tensions, the underlying feeling that there is far more to come linger. If you love a good suspense/romance/mystery/crime/thriller then you’d enjoy this story.

What a thrilling, gripping start to what I hope is a new series. I loved everything about this. Laurel Snow is an intriguing character and I loved reading about how she works and processes. Huck was incredibly appealing and the chemistry between them just jumped off the page. I loved the mystery in this one- it was complex, layered and not at all easy to figure out. I had some inklings of where it was going, but was still able to be surprised and found myself with my heart racing and on the edge of my seat many times while reading this.

I'm desperately hoping there will be Laurel Snow stories to come!

You Can Run by Rebecca Zanetti
Contemporary thriller / suspense. 1st in the series.
Laurel Snow heads home to profile and track a serial killer.

A suspenseful novel following a young but experienced FBI agent investigating a serial killer that gets too close to home. Plenty of twists at the end that kept this a page-turner.
Laurel is led by intellect rather than emotion and her responses to several situations were amusing and unexpected. I loved the intensity of the story and while some of the events were expected, the best were those that came as a surprise. The characters have depth and I’m excited to see where this series goes in the future.

You Can Run is the first book in Rebecca Zanneti’s new Laura Snow Thriller series. This is a romantic suspense novel that features profiler and FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow as she tries to stop a serial killer in her hometown of Genesis Valley, WA. This story is written in third person from the point of view of several characters, which allows the readers to experience the story from several angles.

The attraction between Laurel and Wildlife Officer Huck Rivers is unexpected and intense as the work together to figure out who is killing women so close to their home. The suspects list is growing, past and family issues arises and the danger escalates. Will Laurel and Huck be able to stop the killer before he kills someone close to them? Read it and find out!

I have read and loved many of Zanetti’s books and series. She is a fantastic author with a great talent in writing in this genre. I was very excited to read this new series and it did not disappoint. I can’t wait for the next instalment of this series to learn more about Laurel, Huck and their relationship.

Rebecca Zanetti has written an excellent FBI thriller in You Can Run. I know Ms. Zanetti as a paranormal and contemporary romance writer but she can write a mean thriller too. With a hint of romance this story takes the reader on Laurel Snow’s hunt for a serial killer. The plot is complex, the clues subtle with more than one character that I thought could be the killer. There is one downright spooky character.

Well written with character development that is ongoing in the story just like getting to know real people. Some with many more secrets than others. It is a story that once I began the journey home with Laura Snow to Genesis Valley, WA I wanted to see the killer caught as much as she did. Gripping read. Now I look forward to solving more cases with Laura Snow.

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I received a copy of #Youcanrun from #Netgalley and have provided my honest review below.

This is the first in the new Laurel Snow series and I’m excited to see what happens in the next books in this series.

Laurel Snow is an FBI agent with an eidetic memory. She is asked to come home by her mother to help with a murder enquiry where her uncle is a suspect/person of interest. She works with the Captain of the Fish and Wildlife team, Huck Rivers and a larger task force to apprehend a serial killer targeting blonde women and leaving them on the side of a snowy mountain.

Huck, a loner suffering PTSD from a previous case is only one of the interesting characters in this story. Abigail Caine a potential witness also with an eidetic memory inserts herself in the case and turns out to be an interesting but not likeable character. Kate, a divorced mother of 3 becomes part of Laurels administration team and becomes a good friend.

We learn some of Laurel and her mums history but I think there is so much more that is to be uncovered.

I enjoyed this book and read it in one sitting. I would have liked more of a romantic relationship to be formed with Huck but I’m hoping that as this is book 1 in the series that this will develop in future stories.
